The most important event that happens in the golden goblet is when he finally gets to tell the Queen about his wicked step brother Gebu stealing from the tomb. There are three reasons why this. The first one is Ranofer was effortful in trying to tell the Queen about the grave robbers. The second reason is because if he tells the queen and she believes him, then he will go to jail and then Gebu will leave Ranofer alone. The final reason is that Ranofer will be able to work at Zau’s goldsmith shop because Gebu won’t be forcing him to work at the Stonecutters shop. In the book The Golden Goblet, the most important event is when he tells the queen that Gebu is stealing from the tomb because, Ranofer tries really hard to tell her, Gebu will finally leave him alone and also because he will be able to work as a goldsmith. …show more content…
The Golden Goblet book says he was running from several screaming cooks. Ranofer was also using vines to climb over walls and jumping over them. No matter how many people were chasing him, he didn’t stop running away from them. Ranofer kept trying to go to the Queen. When the soldier captured him, he was trying to tell them about the tomb and nobody listened to him. Even when the soldier brought him to all the people and Ranofer kept talking over them, even when they called him insane. The next reason is that Gebu will leave Ranofer alone. Ranofer knew if he told the queen about Gebu trying to loot the tomb, Gebu would go to jail and he wouldn’t have to listen to him. Gebu is always beating Ranofer whenever he is late, doesn’t bring his coppers, if Gebu feels like he is lying, or if he doesn’t listen to him. Gebu always takes the coppers Ranofer earns away from him.Gebu also took Ranofer away from the goldsmith shop. He forced Ranofer to work at his stone cutting shop instead. Although Ranofer got hurt, he forced him to continue working. He also doesn’t give him much
“It began as a chore Louie’s father asked him to do. Louie resisted, a spat ensued, and Louie threw clothes into a bag and stormed towards the front door. His parents ordered him to stay. “Louie was beyond persuasion.” (15) He couldn’t take it any longer because all he did was run since Pete forced him to do so.

Many can see that throughout the film that King Arthur and his knights were on a noble quest to find the Holy Grail. This quest is much like another many know, the reading Beowulf. Beowulf has been king for 50 years, propelling his country to success and gallantly defeating every obstacle thrown at him. When an evil dragon is awoken and starts attacking his kingdom, Beowulf goes to attack the dragon to maintain his honor and glory from his younger years, as well as to protect his kingdom. This causes Beowulf’s death, and due to this catastrophe, Wiglaf foreshadows the future by saying to his kinsmen, “So this bad blood between us and the Swedes, / this vicious feud, I am convinced, / is bound to revive; they will cross our borders / and attack in force when they find out / that Beowulf is dead” (Heaney 2999-3003). Beowulf’s incessant need to fight the dragon ultimately puts his kingdom in danger. Because of his death, the Geats are now vulnerable to attack from outside forces. For the past 50 years Beowulf has been reigning his kingdom, and protecting the people from these threatening powers. His sudden death has left his people without a proper heir and with no stable leadership, which renders them defenseless when facing oncoming attacks. If Beowulf had not have felt the need to maintain his reputation and fight the dragon, he would still be alive and able to protect the Geats, or appoint the next heir, and have a plan for these attacks. Similar to Beowulf, Ubba and his nation also suffer the consequences due to
The Golden Goblet, by Eloise Jarvis McGraw entertains readers with the story of a young egyptian boy named Ranofer and his life in ancient egypt. Ranofer is a young boy who’s only dream is to become a professional goldsmith. His fate gets twisted when he finds out that Gebu his half brother is a tomb robber and has stolen gold from nearby graves. He searches for a way to expose Gebu and then he finds the Golden Goblet Gebu was hiding. The Golden Goblet lead him to discover what Gebu is up to and how to stop him. Out of all the events that took place in this book I think the most important event occurred when Ranofer found the Golden Goblet, because it led him to understand Gebu’s plans to steal gold, He had found some proof to expose Gebu and
Beowulf tells the story of one of the most heroic men of Anglo-Saxon times. The hero, Beowulf, is able to use his super-human physical strength and courage to put his people before himself. He encounters terrifying monsters and the most brutal beasts, but he never fears the threat of death. Beowulf is the ultimate epic hero who risks his life countless times for great honor and for the good of others. Oedipus Rex is a tragic play, which discusses the tragic discovery of Oedipus--that he has killed his father, and married his mother. He is self-confident, intelligent, and strong willed. Ironically these are the very traits which bring about his tragic discovery. Oedipus gains the rule of Thebes by answering the riddle of Sphinx.
The second claim is that Beowulf is loyal to his people. Beowulf fights monsters to keep his people safe. Beowulf is given the opportunity to rule Geatland after the king’s son Heardred is killed. Beowulf rules for 50 years and he is very successful in those 50 years and Geatland prospers.

The fact that Percy Jackson has friends is incredible. It’s an unshakable fact that any friend of his within a ten mile radius will be in a life or death situation with him by dinner, and they aren’t always so lucky as him. But that’s getting ahead of ourselves. Over the course of the five-part contemporary young adult series Percy Jackson & The Olympians, titular character Percy Jackson must embrace his Greek God parentage and save Olympus with the help of his fellow demigods. The aim of this paper is to discuss his Hero’s Journey throughout the series, provide an in depth character analysis, and draw parallels between Percy and the three classic Greek heroes of mythology: Perseus, Theseus, and Hercules.
In movies, novels, and life, people are named as heroes. The heroes we establish and the heroes we recognize, however, may not meet the criteria for a mythic hero. A mythic hero ventures forth on his journey, and comes forth from the hero’s path to greatness. Joseph Campbell, a mythologist who studied many of the great human myths and religious tales, realized, in studying these myths and tales, that there were certain steps that every hero went through. Campbell called this “The Hero’s Journey”; it is based on Carl Jung's idea that all human beings have an archetype. After Campbell studied a lot of the great myths and realized this pattern, he published his findings in his book The Hero with a Thousand Faces. Ever since then, authors have used “The Hero’s Journey” as an outline to tell their stories. “It is important to note that not all of these individual steps are present in every hero’s tale, nor is it important that they be in this exact order” (Vogler 20). The Hero with a Thousand Faces gives a sense of significance as it looks into the inner mind and soul. The author, Joseph Campbell, performs two extraordinary accomplishments: compelling his readers that myth and dream, those are the most effective and everlasting forces in life and a unification of mythology and psychoanalysis with a gripping narrative. One well-known example of “The Hero’s Journey” from popular culture is the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, by J.K. Rowling. In the novel, Harry Potter, the main character, is the chosen one and “The Hero’s Journey” applies to his life from the moment he is attacked by He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named as a baby.
