The Effectiveness of the Techniques Used by the Film Makers in the Creation of the Trailers for the films Armageddon and Deep Impact This is essay is about the deference in two movie trailers which are 'Deep Impact' and 'Armageddon' these are both science fiction/action films I will also be looking into the different types of sounds and music used and how this reflects the image. Both trailers are quite long but 'Deep Impact' is the shortest lasting around 30 - 45 seconds, the trailer gives away a lot of the plot. From the trailer I am going to describe what I think would have happened in the film. There is a comet found to be heading towards the earth, they build large bunkers under the earth were they can keep one million people alive. They found two hundred thousand people with higher ranking jobs to go into the bunker first they then hold a lottery to see who the other eight hundred thousand are. At the end of the film the comet does not hit and all the people although very shocked survive. The second film 'Armageddon' goes on for about 45 - 60 seconds this trailer also gives a lot of the plot away virtually all of it, 'Armageddon' is based on the same storyline as 'Deep Impact' but they stop the comet in a different way but they still survive. Both these trailers are to detailed to leave any unanswered questions but 'Deep Impact' leaves more suspense. 'Armageddon' starts of with comedy these makes the film less tense but than suddenly the mood changes apart from the minor comedy at the start both trailers are serious throughout. The opening sequences of the trailers are together different, 'Armageddon' starts off with comedy, a man cycling on is bike with his dog in the basket at this point he is talking to his dog but then a couple of small fragments of comet comes crashing out of the sky and smashing into anything in its path causing explosions. You then see a close up of the man and his dog the dog is hurt so the man shouts

Arnheim’s body of theory suggests that the necessity of human intervention to implement plot, tropes, and culturally legible symbols raises a film to a higher level than a mere copy of reality, and that this interpretation and expression of meaning is “a question of feeling” or intuition on the part of the filmmaker. (“Film Theory and Criticism” 283) One consequence of effective directorial intervention is that differences in speed, stops and starts, and what would otherwise be jarring gaps in continuity can be accepted by viewers, because if the essentials of reality are present, th...

Its disheartening to witness dogs being victims of neglect by owners. All animals bestow unconditional love and deserve the same in return. Owners are like adopted parents and must make certain that the animal is disciplined at a young age so that they mature into healthy and productive adults. This can be done by set...
Investigation of the Spiderman 2 Trailer A trailer is an extremely important tool in making the film. It encapsulates two minutes of the film trying to convince the audience. that that film is worth watching using many techniques including the unique selling point of the product. A dog named Spunky, lived with the family Bates. Everyone loved Spunky but they could not understand dog language the only thing they could hear was yerf. Although Spunky was a dog he understands what the Bates said or any other human. He could understand, come, shake hands, good dog, sit, stay, bad dog and besides those words he could understand the rest of the words by listening carefully. Spunky thought that he learned much human words but the Bates never understand any dog language but they learned how to feed a dog, and love a dog.Spunky believes that his little boy Huey understands him because they are very close to each other; Spunky can read Huey’s thoughts even though if he does not think like a dog. However, sometimes Spunky thinks
Their description of their love for their dog could also describe the dog's loyalty in a way because dogs are known for being very loyal to their owners as well as loving them very much. The owner may feel as though they will feel bad once the dog dies because of how loyal and loving the dog was. Also the dog may have saved him from a dangerous situation. The clue to that is when they say "how will I know in thicket ahead is treasure or danger."
The quick cuts between the shots of characters wandering throughout the mysterious basement to people running down the dark, shadowy school hallways creates a feeling of worry and nervousness in the audience. As each scene builds suspense, the music becomes louder and expands upon the uncertainty in horror situations. In the next scene, the director zooms in behind the two characters as they’re slowing creeping down the hallways. Suddenly a loud crash is heard and the characters instantly turn around as seen in figure 3. The mid shot provides an image of the fright in their faces. This clip startles the audience as the characters are unexpectedly frightened by the alarming noise. The trailer ends with one final scene of Bird Fitcher falling to the ground and out of nowhere some kind of monster grabs her face. This leaves viewers completely shocked and wondering what the outcome of this horror film will be. Throughout the trailer, multiple dark and eerie scenes containing suspenseful music frightened viewers, but served to widen the potential audience members for the
Rapid development of film has brought the film industry in its heyday. In modern era, as the people’s interest to watch the film increases, many film producers are competing to produce high-quality movies. Starting from the genre of romance, action, to horror, even animated films also proved much loved by moviegoers. Not only American-made animated film which gets a lot of attention from movie lovers, Japanese’s animation production, which more so-called anime, also begins to compete a lot in the film industry (Linsenmaier, 2008; Gan, 2009).
In conclusion, it is worth stating that there are certain characteristics that stand out in a great film. For one, there should be a strong cast and a dominant director. With these two aspects, the standard of a film is greatly increased. Also the musical score and special effects added to a film, can raise the plateau in making it notable. It can also be seen that the criteria for making a film great, has changed over the years. What once made a film stand out in the past, doesn’t make it at present. However, this generally goes to the special effect features. Nevertheless, it can be said overall, that all these characteristics resulted in the creation of a great film, in ground breaking style and as a result, this has helped us define cinema or a film as we know it.
