The Core
The movie “The Core” contained many unbelievably and unfactual “scientific theories.” These theories merged together to create the most fictitious plot line. They included false assumptions about the earth consisting with the biology, geology, and physics of the planet. The movie stated that the outer core failed to rotate. The outer core supposedly stopped revolving. This was because humans had interfered with the core, or the planet. It is highly unlikely that we, humans, could completely halt the rotation of a gigantic mass of fluid that is millions of kilometers inside the Earth. Empty space was found inside the mantle. From all the research done on the Earth and its interior, it is commonly known that the deeper into the earth, the more pressure. As pressure builds, rocks and soil are condensed. These materials get harder with more pressure and the more they compact. So there is no possibly way that there could be an empty space inside the mantle. This space would cease to exists because the rocks and hard earth, made from the intense pressure, would crush and fill the empty spaces.
This movie also showed an amethyst crystal layer deep within the earth. As documented and commonly known, amethyst is a quartz. Also commonly known, quartz can not

These pacemakers had stopped because of the microwave radiation from the sun. This was supposedly because the magnetic field had diminished, and this was caused from the halt of rotation of the earth's outer core. First of all, new age pacemakers are not affected by microwave radiation. So, the pacemakers could not have possibly stopped and killed the individuals. Older pacemakers used to be affected by microwave radiation, but that was many years ago. Secondly, the false hypothesis that the geomagnetic field could subside or weaken to such a small amount as to let solar microwave radiation into the earth’s atmosphere is an altogether ludicrous
On the outside it looks like a stereotypical rock, but on the inside you don't really know whether it's actually a rock or a crystal. You need to be open minded and willing to find out.
In the scholarly journal, “The Bermuda Triangle Mysteries: An Explanation Based on the Diffraction of Heat Waves (2000)”, physicist Ernest C. Njau claims that the mysteries noted in the Bermuda region may be accounted by the Eastward-moving heat waves along the Earth’s surface as they cause changes in the weather and ocean patterns that could play a big role in the disappearances over the Bermuda Triangle. Njau provides the readers with another credible possibility that could be responsible for the disappearances and mysterious lost ships and planes in the Bermuda region in order to prove that paranormal phenomena may not be the cause behind these sudden disappearances. The research cited explains that the Eastward-moving heat waves along the Earth’s surface “to a large extent, account for the mysteries already noted in the Bermuda region” (Njau). In the academic journal, “Hydrates Represent Gas Source, Drilling Hazard”, senior researcher in geology and associate professor Elchin Bagirov and senior geophysicist Ian Lerche, purport that the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle can actually be explained by the phenomenon of hydrate crystals ruling out paranormal phenomenon. Bagirov and Lerche cite a variety of diagrams that they claim show the special properties of hydrate crystals and their effects to indicate their relationship with the mysterious disappearances of ships and aircraft in the Bermuda Triangle. The authors provide a scientific and rational explanation for the numerous mysteries of missing ships and aircraft in the Bermuda Triangle in order to persuade the readers that the mysteries surrounding the Bermuda Triangle can be explained by actual scientific
Who were the four key figures who contributed to disenchanting the view of the universe?
The world was in utter shambles when Aldous Huxley wrote Brave New World. It was the middle of the depression, unemployment was high and the stock market low. It was the age of sterilizing the mentally ill, and the age of mass manufacturing by machines. Scientific progress was on the rise, and Henry Ford was considered a savior. Huxley's imaginary world of scientific perfection was far from perfect. The texture of his imaginary world is nearer to nightmare that to heaven on earth (Watts 72). In creating the prophecy, New World State, scientific evolution, in trying to create a superior society, is only as perfect as its' creator.

Tectonic Activity The continents of the world are all separated by different tectonic plates which when collide is called Tectonic Activity. There are different forms of tectonic activity and different processes and landforms, which are involved during and as a result of the collisions. As and when these collisions are going to take place we can't determine because current technology hasn't allowed us to dig as far into the earth to the point of pressures which causes the plates to collide. These pressures are believed to be eruptions of liquid magma deep inside the earth.
This essay aims to discuss the problems of the common view of science which was presented by Alan Chalmers by Popperian's view and my personal opinions. Chalmers gives his opinion about what science is and the judgment will be made in this essay through the Popperian hypothetico-deductive and my arguments will be presented in this essay. Popperian is an important philosopher of science who developed hypothetico-deductive method, which is also known as falsificationism. In my opinion, I disagree Chlamer points of view of science and this will be present in essay later. I will restrict my arguments into three parts due to the word limitation. Three aspects will be discussed in this essay: justifying the view through the Popper's view, my agreement about the Popper's objections and additional personal opinions.
Believe it or not, there is still a small group of people who believe this. One claim made by an article supporting this is that it is proven that the Earth is not round, which qualifies it as pseudoscience. This article says, “…explores several more modern proofs that the Earth is not spinning, rotating, revolving, tilting, wobbling, or shooting through infinite space as NASA has brainwashed us to believe.”(Proof the Earth Is Not Spinning, Rotating, or Revolving) This qualifies as pseudoscience because it talks of proof rather than
The basic science is pretty straightforward. The earth lurches from time to time because its outer shell is broken into huge, solid plates floating on a layer of molten rock that has the consistency of Silly Putty. These tectonic plates are constantly jostling each other, like rafts crowded into a...
Core/Interior: The Earth has three layers to it's interior, the inner core, outer core, and mantle. Of these the outer core is thought to be liquid. Like most of the terrestrial planets at birth, the Earth has been molten and undergone some differentiation allowing the heavy material which is consisting mostly of an iron, nickel, and cobalt core making it's density five and a half times the density of water.
In 1513, Nicholas Copernicus, composed a brief theory that stated that the sun is at rest and the earth is in rotation around the sun. In 1543, just days before his death, Copernicus published this theory in On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres. This theory was meant to dissolve the long lived belief in Ptolemyís theory which stated, "The earth was at the center because it was the heaviest of objects(Kagan331)." This was a common belief at that time, which supported the religious beliefs that the earth was the center of the universe and God in the heavens were surrounding the earth. Copernicusís theory was shocking, but he published such a controversial theory without sufficient evidence, it had to be considered invalid.
Faith has several strengths and weaknesses when used as a basis for knowledge in religion and the natural sciences. In order to fully analyze these strengths and weaknesses and determine which of the two is more prevalent, faith, religion, and the natural sciences should be distinguished from one another. In The New Merriam-Webster Dictionary faith is defined as the “belief and trust in God” or “allegiance to duty or a person” (270), religion as “an organized system of faith and worship” (617), and science as “knowledge covering general truths or the operation of general laws especially as obtained and tested through the scientific method” (650). Faith may be considered a strong basis for knowledge in religion as religion is usually built around the concept of faith. However, faith may be a weak basis for knowledge in religion as certain teachings in a religion may not have a direct link to the concept of faith. Similarly, in the natural sciences, faith may also be seen as a strong basis for knowledge as a scientist has faith in the hypothesis he may be testing. Likewise, faith may be perceived as a weak basis for knowledge in the natural sciences as faith and the natural sciences tend to offer incongruous solutions to the same problem.
A scientific theory is an explanation that is well- substantiated explanation in regards to some aspect of the natural world that is attained through scientific method and is tested numerous times and usually confirmed through vigorous observation and experimentation. The term theory can be seen as a collection of laws which allow you to show some kind of phenomenon. The strength of a scientific theory associated with the diversity of phenomena can explain its elegance and simplicity. However when new evidence is gathered a scientific theory can be changed or even rejected if it does not fit the new findings, in such cases a more accurate theory is formed. Scientific theories are used to gain further
There are many myths when talking about science. Myths are usually routined views or stories that help make sense of things. Misunderstandings of science are most likely due to educational programs. The article focuses on ten myths.
