Flight 19 was the designation of five TBM Avenger torpedo bombers that disappeared over the Bermuda Triangle on December 5, 1945 during a United States Navy overwater navigation training flight from Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale, Florida. All 14 of the airmen on the flight were lost as well as the 13 crew members of a PBM Mariner flying boat of professional investigators which is thought to have exploded in mid-air while searching for the flight. Navy investigators could not determine the cause of the loss of Flight 19 yet many researchers argue otherwise claiming that there is a specific cause for the disappearance of Flight 19. The disappearance of Flight 19 has been the longest standing mystery in aviation due to the fact that no sign …show more content…
In the scholarly journal, “The Bermuda Triangle Mysteries: An Explanation Based on the Diffraction of Heat Waves (2000)”, physicist Ernest C. Njau claims that the mysteries noted in the Bermuda region may be accounted by the Eastward-moving heat waves along the Earth’s surface as they cause changes in the weather and ocean patterns that could play a big role in the disappearances over the Bermuda Triangle. Njau provides the readers with another credible possibility that could be responsible for the disappearances and mysterious lost ships and planes in the Bermuda region in order to prove that paranormal phenomena may not be the cause behind these sudden disappearances. The research cited explains that the Eastward-moving heat waves along the Earth’s surface “to a large extent, account for the mysteries already noted in the Bermuda region” (Njau). In the academic journal, “Hydrates Represent Gas Source, Drilling Hazard”, senior researcher in geology and associate professor Elchin Bagirov and senior geophysicist Ian Lerche, purport that the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle can actually be explained by the phenomenon of hydrate crystals ruling out paranormal phenomenon. Bagirov and Lerche cite a variety of diagrams that they claim show the special properties of hydrate crystals and their effects to indicate their relationship with the mysterious disappearances of ships and aircraft in the Bermuda Triangle. The authors provide a scientific and rational explanation for the numerous mysteries of missing ships and aircraft in the Bermuda Triangle in order to persuade the readers that the mysteries surrounding the Bermuda Triangle can be explained by actual scientific
Is the government covering up the truth about the September 11 event in New York City or it’s just classified information that the world is not ready for. For many Years people around the world have came up with all these conspiracy theories about 911. theories such as Flight 93 being completely staged, there really was no second plane, some even say inside traders knew about attacks before they happened. These theories have many people wondering if the government really is covering up the truth about 911. Though no one can prove whether some 911 conspiracies are true , there are many suspicious events leading up to the tragedy that point to foul play.
On the morning of September 11/2001, 19 terrorist working for the Al Qaeda terrorist organization hijacked four commercial planes. They attempted to fly them into multiple U.S targets. One of the planes, American Airlines, flight 11, crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center at 8:50 a.m. Another plane, United Airlines, flight 175, crashed into the south tower at 9:04 a.m. These tragedies took the lives of nearly 3000 people and affected the lives of millions.
Flight 93, the flight that crashed near some fields in the outskirts of Pennsylvania. But what was it doing there? What caused the plane to miss its target and crash? These answers may soon be revealed when detectives can finally examine the planes black box, found just recently. Many answers however can be found through other pieces of info that have come up along the way during the investigations.
Finally, in 1997, the US military admitted to lying about the object being a weather balloon. Instead they claim that the wreckage was part of a “top-secret experiment”(Mitton 11) involving some sort of balloon. Steve MacKenzie’s response, “if the object he tracked had been a weather balloon, secret or not, his superiors would have ordered him to ignore it.”(Dudley 35)
“In total, six airplanes and 27 men appear to have vanished” (How). On December 5th of 1945, five U.S. Navy bombers went missing without a trace of why. Later a rescue plane was sent to search for the plane and the survivors, but those planes disappeared as well. That incident is one of the most famous and well known disappearances in the area (How). The Bermuda triangle is an area in the Atlantic Ocean which many people believe mysterious disappearances have taken place. It reaches Puerto Rico, Florida, and Bermuda in a triangle shape that covers approximately 500,000 square miles (History). The mysterious disappearances in the Bermuda triangle are myths as evidenced by people who travel the area safely every day, there is no scientific proof of the mysteries, and there are scientific reasons why people have disappeared.
This report is on the Crossair flight 3597 crash which happens at Zurich airport on 24th November 2001. Analysis of Crossair flight 3597 will be covered, which includes details such as facts of Crossair flight 3597 crash, and the three contributing factors involved in the air accident. The three contributing factors are mainly Crossair, pilot error and communications with air traffic controllers.
What is something the Malaysia Flight 370, the Lake Anjikuni Inuit Village, the Village of Hoer Verde, and the Mary Celeste all have in common? In all cases, a strange phenomenon occurred- a large group of people disappeared, practically without a trace. The same goes for the “Lost Colony” of Roanoke. There are many theories of what could have happened to the folk in that town way back in the 1580’s. They could have moved west, they could have eaten each other, they could have even been killed by irate Natives. There wasn’t a lot to go by- Only the word Croatan carved into a tree trunk- and when there aren't facts, people find explanations for themselves. Unfortunately, lots of them being crazed conspiracies and alluded-to alien abduction.
The mystery of The Bermuda Triangle has proven time and time again to be one of the world’s most bewildering phenomenons, and has kept scholars and conspiracists alike scratching their heads. It has defied all aspects of logic, science, likelihood, and probability. According to a late September, 2017 article by Holly Christodoulou, a writer for “The Sun”, “The Bermuda Triangle seems to have laid claim to at least 1000 lives via the mysterious disappearances of massive man-made vessels such as planes, boats, and cargo ships that remain unfound to this very day” (https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2021520/bermuda-triangle-ships-planes-conspiracy-theories/).
The above mentioned airplane was a planned commercial passenger flight that took off from LaGuardia Airport, New York destined for Charlotte Douglas Airport in North Carolina on January 15, 2009. Six minutes after takeoff, the airplane was successfully abandoned in Hudson River after striking multiple birds during its initial climb out. The crew reported by radio two minutes after takeoff at an altitude of 3,200 feet, the Airbus experienced multiple bird strikes. The result of this multiple bird strikes, which occurred in northeast of George Washington Bridge was compressor stalls as well as loss of thrust in both engines. The Airbus was ditched in Hudson River after the aircrew discovered that they would not reach any airfield and turned southward. Fortunately, all the 155 passengers on board survived the accident though the Airbus was partly submerged and sinking slowly.
Where did the MH370 flight go? This question has been floating around everybody's minds since the flight and everyone on board went missing in March 2014. This flight held over 300 people and their baggage. The flight that went missing was devastating and there are so many conspiracy theories that go along with disappearance of the flight, so which should we believe? It is evident that we should believe the one that thinks that the plane was hijacked because there were so many possibilities.

New York Magazine posted an article titled “CNN’s 9 Most Deplorable Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 Moments,” and included coverage that ranged from Don Lemon questioned if something “supernatural” happened to theories about black holes to the poor use of the breaking news tag (Raymond, 2014). Nine days after the flight went missing, CNN anchor Don Lemon toyed with the idea that “something odd happened to this plane, something beyond our understanding?” (McMurry, 2014). CNN took the time to examine conspiracy theories including black holes and the Bermuda triangle, even referencing the television show Lost. CNN even attempted to rent a real Boeing-777 to supplement their coverage of MH370, but “found it impossible” (Rothman, 2014).
...compasses to go haywire. Even less logical explanations such as alien attacks or particles from the city of atlantis affecting the magnetic field, exist, and are believed by some people. Other theories such as pirates, time vortexes, and methane hydrates are also thought to be a cause(http://adventure.howstuffworks.com/bermuda-triangle8.htm).
Not quite. Though there have been many tales and and crazy theories surrounding the Bermuda Triangle, many scientists have come up with more reasonable explanations such as meso-meteorological storms, for instance. Meso-meteorological storms, unexpected weather fronts that rise up extremely quickly, are very common in this area of the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic ocean. These storms can cause sudden hurricanes or water spouts that will capsize a ship or down a plane before a signal of distress can be sent, explaining many “unexplainable” disappearances. Scientists also blame some of these ship sinkings on ancient methane gas pockets underneath the sea floor.
The disappearance of Flight 19 and the USS Cyclones are just some of the things that occurred and are based on the Bermuda Triangle. Theories like the Methane Hydrate and others are merely assumptions made by scientists in hopes of unfolding the mystery of the Triangle, when in reality we will never know for sure what happens within the Bermuda’s itself.
