The Benefits of Solar Energy

685 Words2 Pages

The traditional, non renewable form energy is created by fossil fuels, such as coal, gas, and oil. The process begins at a power plant (primary energy source) where, heat exerted from burnin, are transformed into electrical energy. This creates high-pressured steam to form a turbine, which allows a rotor to power the generator. There an electrical current is created through the process of induction, by spinning an electrical current and conductor around each other. There the electrical energy or voltage is sent through a series of transformers, where various circuits until it reaches a building.
Another non-renewable form of energy is nuclear power. It operates the same as a traditional powerplant up till the process of induction, except uranium rods replace coal, gas, and oil and water is used in this process as a cooling system. Once the uranium atoms separates it emits large amount of heat. This fission is electrical energy, which can be stored in special containers built casing the system. This continues until uranium can no longer separate its atoms and the rods need to be replaced.

Solar Energy is an alternative electrical energy source. Its a renewable source, because of its abundant supply and limited environmental impact. Solar energy has the ability to power buildings, electronic devices, and spacecrafts through a specific process. The energy is harvested from the sun to made usable, thus it is a renewable form of energy. Solar energy is created by the use of solar panels, a collection of photovoltaic cells (solar cells, that mean light and electricity). The solar panels have a system in which, it collects the sun’s rays and converts it into energy (similar to the organic process of photosynthesis in plants), and sto...
