Title: Nuclear Energy Specific purpose: To persuade the audience that nuclear power is the best source of energy today. I. Introduction A. Attention Material: Have you ever thought about energy? Where it comes from and how it powers things? Nuclear energy is one of the many types of energy sources in the world today. It is a non-renewable resource such as coal and natural gas. The first nuclear reactor ever created by man was built in December of 1942. The discovery of building a nuclear power plant was discovered over 150 years ago (Nuclear Power: Villain or Victim?, p. 15). B. Motivate Audience to Listen: When thinking of the term “Nuclear Energy”, many people immediately think it’s very expensive. That is not exactly true, a pound of uranium …show more content…
Establish Credibility : The world has been using nuclear power plants for many years. 1 in 5 households in the U.S. depend on nuclear power for their source of electricity. That makes a lot of people who are dependent on this type of energy source. D. Make Purpose Clear: I will tell you about the advantages of nuclear energy. E. Preview: I will explain three advantages about nuclear energy, how inexpensive it is, how environmental friendly it is, and how reliable and powerful it is. [Transition: I will first start with the low cost of nuclear …show more content…
Nuclear energy is a very powerful source of energy. Just a little bit is required to make large amounts of electricity, which powers 1 in 5 households in the U.S. Nuclear energy has been advanced over the years and has been relied on heavily by many countries today. [Transition to conclusion: Now that I have told you these three advantages, let’s review them one last time.] III. Conclusion A. Final Review: I’ve told you three advantages of nuclear power. 1. I’ve told you how inexpensive nuclear energy is. 2. I’ve told you how environmentally friendly it is. 3. And lastly, I told you how powerful and reliable it is. B. Concluding remarks: Today we use candles for almost any kind of occasion or celebration. Candles continue to grow in popularity and we see them just about everywhere. They are really inexpensive to make and a lot of fun! So when you try making candles on your own, use your imagination and be very creative. Your candle can be anything you like. In my opinion nuclear power is pretty amazing, and I doubt that people really believe otherwise. The amount of energy that it can produce compared to other sources of energy is huge. I believe that as long as it is done with the utmost care, nuclear power is the best source of energy we can
Across the world and all over the World Wide Web, candles are more popular than ever, and they continue to grow in popularity as part of home decors and special gift ideas for both men and women. In fact, candles are among the top decorative choices for people who want to cast a warm and lively ambience and soothing aroma inside their homes.
Energy is undoubtedly one of the most important issues facing the world today. While fossil fuels may produce enough energy at a low cost, they also have severe environmental impacts on the world. Wind energy is a clean source, but is also extremely expensive to maintain. Nuclear energy may be the best energy alternative to coal and oil, with the ability to produce much more energy at relatively low cost, while also being more environmentally sound. Nuclear Power comes from the process of splitting Uranium Atoms (also called fission), which in turn releases copious amounts of energy in the form of heat.
There are many sources of energy today, and the best source of it is constantly being sought after, one source stands out above the rest. Nuclear energy is simple in theory, yet it may be one of the most controversial sources of power. Nuclear energy works using reactors built to split the atoms (nuclear fission) of the fuel to produce heat. This heat evaporates the cooling agent (usually water) into steam which turns turbines to create electricity. Nuclear energy should be allowed, because it produces an abundance of electricity, as well as being a clean source of energy with no harmful emissions. Nuclear energy is the future of clean, environmentally friendly energy.
Nuclear power has no place in having a safe, clean, sustainable future. Today, the manufacturing of nuclear power plants has become a critical topic throughout the world that many strongly believe should be stopped. Nuclear Power is not safe anywhere in the world nor is it environmentally friendly. Nuclear power plants are truly something that could cause mass destruction in the world and has the potential to wipe out a whole country with ease. Despite proponents’ that claim that nuclear power is safe, there is a history that proves otherwise and marks a number of disasters caused by nuclear power plants.
Central Idea: Nuclear energy only contributes a small amount to the world’s electricity yet it has hazards and dangers that far out-way its benefits. There are many other alternative power producing sources that can produce energy more efficiently and more safely than nuclear power plants can.
After the United States developed the atomic at the end of World War II, interest in nuclear technology increased exponentially. People soon realized that nuclear technology could be used for electricity, as another alternative to fossil fuels. Today, nuclear power has its place in the world, but there is still a lot of controversy over the use of nuclear energy. Things such as the containment of radiation and few nuclear power plant accidents have given nuclear power a bad image. However, nuclear power is a reliable source of energy because it has no carbon emissions, energy is available at any time, little fuel is needed for a lot of energy, and as time goes on, it is becoming safer and safer.
Global warming has been a big concern for years now and one of the biggest causes of it, is the burning of fossil fuels to generate energy. People that live in the United States of America use a huge amount of energy in their daily lives and that amount continues to grow as our population grows with it. My purpose for this piece is to persuade people to switch to nuclear power for a cleaner energy source because it’s the cleanest energy source. The audience I decided to target was mostly kids, but it’s also strongly directed towards adults and young adults. I focused the most on persuading kids because kids are our future and kids will grow up with the idea of having nothing but clean energy, instead of thinking of the idea later on in life.
Electricity is the most famous and common use of nuclear power. In most countries nuclear powers more than 10% of their electricity. The U.S. with 100 atomic reactors create 19% of our power, and 30% of the electricity around the

The use of nuclear power in the mid-1980s was not a popular idea on account of all the fears that it had presented. The public seemed to have rejected it because of the fear of radiation. The Chernobyl accident in the Soviet Union in April of 1986 reinforced the fears, and gave them an international dimension (Cohen 1). Nevertheless, the public has to come to terms that one of the major requirements for sustaining human progress is an adequate source of energy. The current largest sources of energy are the combustion of coal, oil, and natural gas. Fear of radiation may push nuclear power under the carpet but another fear of the unknown is how costly is this going to be? If we as the public have to overcome the fear of radiation and costly project, we first have to understand the details of nuclear energy. The known is a lot less scary then the unknown. If we could put away all the presumptions we have about this new energy source, then maybe we can understand that this would be a good decision for use in the near future.
Candles can add that special touch to any house. They can add to a romantic night. They can brighten a house up. They can also add personality into any home. Whatever the case may be, candles are great for everyday use. So why not make your own? Candles can get to be quite costly, but by making your own you are cutting down the price to a bare minimum. You may even find that you have most of the supplies that you need right at home. By making your own candle you can also create your own style making it more meaningful to you.
Nuclear Energy is a potentially potent source of energy but still an unknown, unsafe entity that cannot be performed in a timely manner and the risks outweigh the potential. Though the 21st century is widespread with electronic devices and an ever-growing population, the thirst for electricity can be quenched by renewable resources. Men and women across the United States need to say NO to nuclear power because it cannot be performed in a timely manner, is a safety risk, and there are far more economical ways of producing energy that do not produce as much waste. The first and one of the main reasons for not wanting nuclear power in the United States is that with the continuity of nuclear power, what also comes with it are nuclear weapons.
Nuclear power, one of the world’s most talked about topic at the moment. The debate on whether nuclear power should or shouldn’t be used. Implementing nuclear power in most regions of the world would lead to cleaner air, a decrease in the rapidly increasing climate change. Also, a more reliable and efficient power source for the world. As well, it’s very safe, so we don’t need to worry about accidents occurring.
Media coverage of such cases have made the public less comfortable with the idea of moving further towards nuclear power and they only opt for reducing human activities to reduce global warming. It is true that there have been some notable disasters involving nuclear power, but compared to other power systems, nuclear power has an impressive track record. First, it is less harmful and second, it will be able to cater for the growing world population. Nuclear power produces clean energy and it delivers it at a cost that is competitive in the energy market (Patterson). According to the US Energy Information Administration, there are currently 65 such plants in the Unite States (National Research Council). They produce 19 percent of the total US energy generation.
