Texas Motor speedway (TMS.) designed an event for the Business Gives Back Competition to present to the Dallas chamber of Commerce. TMS partnered with the Dallas police officers to host an event that will help build strong relationships between police agencies and the community. The proposal elaborates on our mission to help reduce the tension between the communities and the police officers by providing entertainment for all.
1.2 Why in Dallas?
The Dallas police officers has done so much for the community.. Last year, 5 police officers were shot and lost their lives. They left behind families that need support.
1.3 The Effects of the Proposal
Our proposal plans an event to bring the police officers and the community together. The program will help the community understand that the police officers are on their side and not against them.

Background

2.1 Problems:
The way the police officers are portrayed in the media has reflected of how the community views them. The community views the police officers both in a positive and negative image. In our community we find some police officers finding themselves in a negative situation or getting shot at. The negative images that we often see is that police officers brutally hurting suspects that are harmless. The positive images that the community sees is that the police officers have saved some lives. What the community does not realize is that the police officers are on our side, they are serving the Dallas community to the best of their abilities to protect us.
