Plates get bigger and cups have less and less ice. Campaigns in local communities have started trying to battle obesity. Jamie Oliver, father and chef, has organized and put together his vital movement against obesity. In his TED Talk “ Teach Every Child About Food,” Oliver demonstrates the interaction between the advance in the population’s weight and the not so accurate information that all the fast food industries along with everyone not having the proper education in the home and at schools. In his presentation he gives us amazing data, and very emotional videos, and a closer look into his own personal input. Oliver, adequately shares the priority of how we should educated our children about food and nutrition just so they can be aware and try to prevent obesity. The word “Home” is written at the top, “School” and “Main Street” are at the bottom points. The triangle shows us how each area helps with the problem of obesity. When Oliver explains “Main Street,” he says that fast food companies make food that is “largely processed and full of all sorts of additives, extra ingredients.” He makes is clear that fast food companies are mostly responsible for the highly dangerous food we eat and drink. He also argues “the biggest problem with home is that it used to be the heart of passing on food, food culture what made our society. That ain’t happening anymore.” Not passing on the traditions of food causes the children to not know about the food that they are eating.
