The educational process is multi dimensional for student teachers and then study materials, but since technology has come in our lives, it has become the last that completes the education process.
Technology revolutionized education in so many ways .Now it has become an essential tool for education ,for example using computers has made education more interesting in the eyes of students because when the teachers uses visuals in the classroom, as a result it attracts the students and the subject that they are studying about becomes understandable also meaningful by providing relevant graphs pictures posters maps and videos having the teacher to increase the level of understanding for the presented materials, clarify points support the messages and create more interest coming from the students. In my essay I will write about three main points the definition of educational technology why are we using computers in education after that why are we using books in education next can we replace books with computers finally I will conclude my essay with my opinion. Although using technology in education has made it more interesting, technology has its bad side effects as well. It is true that it is helpful but I think we should use it in moderation since we can't ever replace books with computers.
To start off "educational technology refers to the study and the ethical practice of facilitating education to enhance the students performance ,by the use and creation of management appropriate technological processes and resources". The word educational technology is connected with instruction theories and learning. Even though instructional theories basically covers the learning system and instruction...

In the end I think books are better than computers for learning because they are more educational than computers; however I think we can learn new things from computers which is why when it comes to education, We should use both books and computers so we can learn and educate more we should also use computers for education in moderation my point of view is that books are more effective in education because they are more reliable than computers.
Over the past few decades technology has advanced quite a bit. The use of calculators, computers, and other techniques in many fields has increased significantly. In a large scale, technology is replacing the method of instruction in the field of education. Many people believe that adopting technology in learning process can increase productivity. However, David Gelernter, who is a professor at Yale University as well as a leading figure in the field of technology, suggests to limit the use of technology in the classroom in his article “Unplugged: The Myth of Computers in the Classroom” which was published in the New Republic magazine in 1994. In this article he offers well illustrated analysis which makes the readers to regulate the use of technology in the classroom. He thinks that the technology comes in a way of building strong foundation of basic skills. He insists that computers should be used to aid the learning process, not to replace cognitive thinking.
Almost everyone attends a school at one time in their life whether the classroom includes technology or not. Research shows that technology isn’t used as often as one might think. The article, “High Access and Low use of technology in High School Classrooms” illustrates the use of technology by stating that only one in ten of elementary and middle school teachers are daily users of computers (Cuban, Kirkpatrick, Peck). Most schools now have classrooms that use technology throughout the entire class time and even at home to do homework. Although some people might agree with the use of technology in class, it is more harmful to the students than useful. It can cause many distractions, it can be difficult to use and can take away from learning time.
Technology is also used as a tool in the method of teaching and learning for faster and easier education. It is now an academic necessity in this global world and every student needs a computer to use online sources and textbooks, search and write the projects and do the online homework.... ... middle of paper ... ...
Do you ever think about how much technology has changed the way we work, learn, play, and even think? Technology is a major beneficiary to society; especially in the classroom where we get the opportunity to learn and grow. In recent years, schools have begun implementing tablets and other devices in the classroom to better student’s education. The use of technology in the classroom provides more of a personalized learning experience and gives students a widespread availability to engage in learning. Technology is necessary in today’s modern globe, it is basically “the pen and paper of our time and the lens through which we experience much of our world” (Warlick, 2013). Technology is not just considered the “internet”, it is so much greater than that. Overall, it enhances the quality of education and engages students deeper than ever before. With all the significant gains, why would people argue that technology hinders students more than it helps? Critics may try to repute the use of technology in the classroom but I believe what really matters “is the way we use it, the context that we use it in, and the learners who we use it for” (Chong, 2012).
Technology forms the most vital element of life in the world today. Every aspect of our lives is dominated by technology and its importance in our lives is indispensable. One of the outstanding facts about technology use in schools is its controversial nature. There is no common agreement by stakeholders in technology and educations sectors about the use of technology in schools. There are two different factions, one supporting use of technology as a positive aspect, while the other faction disagrees, citing the detrimental effects of technology in students. However, the use of technology in classrooms catering for children continues to increase, as education develops more interesting ways of enhan...
In today’s educational system it is hard to picture one without the use of technology. The time period of our world now is known as the digital age, this is the shift from the traditional industry, to an economy that consists of technology and computerization. “As we
Contrary to popular belief, technology has and is helping with the improvement of education. Technology has had a huge impact on education systems, giving major educational benefits to elementary schools, high schools, and universities. As with all activities and technologies, there are positives and negatives. With the help of email, text messaging, electronic grading systems, electronic books, cell phones and many online resources at their fingertips, teachers and students are able to complete work and tasks easier and faster. It has also given parents direct access to their children’s grades, assignments and teachers’ notes through electronic media. The internet contains so much reliable and easily accessible information to help students in most situations. While not all information found on the internet is reliable, there are websites that are considered good sources. The general opinion by parents is that technology is not helping improve education and make learning easier. This is a debatable topic because smartphones, portable music devices, and the internet can distract students from doing their work. Although they can distract students, they can also provide a lot of useful services and utensils. Many students are able to overcome these distractions and use the devices to their advantages. For example, I use music to help me when doing my homework and for studying. It helps me focus more. Other people may do the same, or have their own methods.
Today, technology is found everywhere in education. There are computers in many of the classrooms and schools contain computer labs, or at least numerous computers in the library available to students. In my paper, I want to discuss some of the positive and negative effects that technology has on education.
When I become a teacher there is no doubt that I will use computers in my classroom and my students will do activities with computers. It is just the way to do things now. There are so many valuable programs out there to help students learn and to help teachers teach that computers are pretty much a necessity in classrooms. In my opinion for an elementary classroom there should be at least five to ten computers in each room. Without the access to the computers it is hard to take advantage of all the wonderful things a computer has to offer. Even using the internet has a source of information for the students or has a tutorial for students who are struggling. There are so many ways that classrooms will benefit from computers.
Technology affects every aspect of our lives. From romance to business, it has shown its presence everywhere. But technology has had a huge impact on education that cannot be denied, and has done nothing but improve the quality and quantity of education.
In conclusion, technology has changed education for the better allowing access to unlimited resources, distance learning and broadening the means of communication. Technology creates a more encouraging environment and stimulates students to engage in something they may be familiar with. Technology has allowed people to know more and to collaborate with each other. Students have a great range of technologies which strengthens the relationship between knowledge and students. The technology used today throughout the world will only strengthen and advance the 21st century education system. With unlimited resources, students can take advantage of their learning and gain the most from it. Integrating technology into education promotes a better learning community.
To summarize, school as we know it wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t have computers. Computers have played a big factor in education and they can be very good for education by making it more beneficial, more efficient and motivating even though they can be costly and can cause problems especially if stolen or broken. However, people back then never thought that the computer would evolve so quickly and computers will continue to evolve and new technology will keep coming out, improving education even more.
Technology has revolutionized how teachers teach and how students learn. The importance and benefits of education technology to the teachers and students cannot be ignored. So how exactly does technology help teacher? Technology has made it easier for teachers to explain knowledge to the students and for students to acquire it. Technology has made learning more enjoyable; the more students enjoy their learning, the more they want to continue their learning. Teachers used chalk boards, and then progressed to whiteboards and now they are using smart boards. Smart boards are advanced boards that allow teachers to teach and share information with students in a lot of ways. Moreover, use of projectors, screens and addressing systems (speakers and microphones) allow teachers to teach a large number of students simultaneously. Plus, technology is used in a very effective way to teach second language learners with online exercises that can improve their English skills. Students are finding internet an effective tool for acquiring knowledge. Students can now retrieve all types of information ...
Technology has many different effects on education, one of them being enhancing the students learning. Technology may enhance the students learning and may assist most students in achieving their academic standards. When technology and appropriate teaching methods are combined, technology may increase the academic achievement. Positive effects have been found in all major subject areas, from preschool to higher education, both regular and special needs students. Educational technology has been found to have a positive effect on a student’s attitude toward learning and on self-concepts. The introduction of technology into the learning environment has allowed the learning to be more student-centered, to encourage group learning, and helps to stimulate an increase in the student-teacher interaction. Technology has shown a shift from a focus on a student’s memorization to their problem solving. Through technology’s use, learning opportunities have become unrestricted by time or place, allowing lifelong learning. Student use of technology through communications can also help to enhance access to a career and continued education. Students are more likely to use a computer to get help because they can to it themselves. Technology is helping students to become independent.
‘What is the future of technology in education?’ is an article by Matt Britland, the head of ICT at Kingston Grammar School and director of education consultancy Realise Learning, and ‘New Class(room) War: Teacher vs. Technology’ is an article by Samuel G. Freedman, a professor of journalism at Columbia University. Though both authors are educators, they share differing views on the role of technology when it comes to education today. Britland writes about his vision with regards to the role that technology should play in education in the future. On the flipside, Freedman writes about his frustrations with students and their excessive use of technology these days. While both articles have their merits, they lack a well-balanced argument, hence, decreasing their credibility. In addition, although Freedman’s article is more well founded, Britland is able to bring in more well thought out reasoning with the use of logos.
