1. Teamwork – Our international tax team comprise of several experienced professionals. At one hand, we have Professionals who are just starting their international tax compliance career, and there are several team members who have more than 4-5 years of international tax experience. Working with this variety of team members provides the great opportunity to learn new things, also provides an opportunity to see from a different perspective.
This past year, I really worked on improving my teamwork skills, and spend lot of time building relations not only within tax team but also with various other departments.
2. Trust and accountability – Being new to Micron tax team was an enriching experience to me. One really need to work hard to earn trust of this team, and it is even hard to maintain that trust. This past year I worked hard on winning trust. I felt I really work hard to earn that trust and keep working hard to maintain for years together.
Accountability is one of the prominent trait of any successful profession. I always felt that I am accountable for certain jobs, such as completing tax return on due dates, and help federal team to successfully file annual tax return on fixed due dates. I understand the consequences of late filing, hence past year I always try to be on top to finish things on time.

Data analysis, and decision making – Some of Micron entities requires lot of data analysis as most of the foreign income inclusion is based on quality data analysis. This past year I tried to learn few tricks of trade such as using MS access database to support foreign income inclusion work papers. There are still so many things to learn, especially learning product flow is very important considering different FAB locations, and different sales & marketing entities location. Whenever I feel that some transactions / flows needs additional explanation, I reach out to Roger, Mark, Darius, Julie who have better understanding about these product
My team consists of four other people besides myself, Lauren Chojnaki, Alexa-Louise Patnode, and Jacobe Loewen, and Ryan Tyriver. Together, we are tasked with the mission to complete a stakeholder analysis regarding a specific organization and their structure. When I began this class, I had never had any experience or knowledge on non-profit organizations. After reading the chapters and doing the project for CHASI, I began to realize that non-profit could be my niche. I chose to pursue a degree in criminal justice, because of the many job possibilities, but I never would have imagined non-profit being one of those possible careers for myself. I was raised under the philosophy from both sides of my family, that if you give, you will get in return, I believe this so much and I have witnessed it personally throughout this semester.
