TATA MOTORS
How the organisation is related to our branch expertise?
The company TATA motors, which deals in the manufacture of automobiles has major contributions from all branches of engineering from mechanical to chemical to aerospace.
But, it cannot be denied that the branch of mechanical engineering is backbone of the working of the company.
The company which employs knowledge of kinematics and dynamics of machinery, design for manufacture and assembly, internal combustion engines, principles of product design, structural health and integrity monitoring is more closely related to mechanical engineering than any other branch.
Salient features
The chosen organisation is TATA motors which is the

Reduce the emission levels of vehicles in full compliance of the regulatory norms and proactively work with the Industry, Government , and other related industries and agencies to bring in international performance.
Conserve natural resources and energy by minimising their consumption and wastage.
Minimise waste generation, enhance recovery and recycling of material and develop eco-friendly waste disposal practices.
Building awareness of our work force, customers and vehicles on environment issues
Adopt the “3-R” (reduce, reuse and recycle) philosophy for all types of wastes to prevent pollution and dispose off “inevitable” wastes, particularly electronic waste, in line with regulatory requirements or industry best practice
Preserve and enhance biodiversity in all its branch centers.
Strive toward “greening” of IT infrastructure and operations including data centers
Ardently promote “green procurement”
Product /service that has a significant impact on the environment directly/indirectly
TATA motors being an automobile manufacturing company does play a major part in the pollution of the environment indirectly through its
Even though electronic waste contributes one percent of waste as discussed earlier, it poses a significant threat to the environment. “RCRA does not, however, cover electronic waste except CRTs, nor does it regulate electronic devices donated for educational or charitable reuse.” The RCRA should implement rules to govern e-waste because e-waste not only affects lives in the United States, It affects everyone globally. E-waste typically finds its ways out of the United States and ends up in developing countries like
General Motors has made great progress towards diversity however, it took the lawsuit in order for the company to do so. Adding females and minority to the upper management. Had the HR department of General Motors followed the EEOC regulations, this lawsuit could have been avoided.
...th a growing proportion of elderly people. Global market dynamics and innovations in big data and social networking are transforming the business strategies of companies everywhere—and forcing them to rethink fundamental rules of engagement. For better or worse, the future entrepreneurs will have to surface as one the most disruptive forces. As big data pushes for alternative ways of working – proactive solutions that drive information must quickly figure out which new policies and tools can be utilized most effectively. This grants enormous opportunities for key technological breakthroughs that will be needed for the next generation of transport.
They should know how to communicate with those whom are operating the machinery to diagnose and fix the problem. Workers need to know how to problem solve using mathematical and mechanical skills. It is very important that an employee be able to order equipment and stay within their budget. In this job, the employer has to know how to prioritize their work and be punctual while thorough in repairing the equipment. An industrial machinery mechanics typical workday will require the employee to pick up, push, pull or carry heavy objects.

Hence production units for example the exports that take place in Europe and its Ukraine therefore they have competitive advantage with value into the technology. It gone through the acquisition by natural resource seeking for example Tata Company has invested in coal mines in different country and ownership advantage the company that enables them to successfully acquire established goal companies (KUMAR, 2008).Location advantage of Tata motors has the nature of the product and the services which the company requires to invest In plant or an office (Neelankavil and Rai,2009).In addition the Tata Company has a manufacturing with joint venture and Thornburg automotive gives which them a location advantage again in the south East Asia region. Internationalization advantage of Tata motors will help them in having better control over the manufacturing units as licensing option which are issues related to transfer of technology or technology theft. The advantages of own production for Tata company which they have done is introducing a new car called Nano an ultra low cost car
Electronic waste, or any waste for that matter is an inevitable part of an economic system where the destruction of an ecosystem is the primarily source of resources that are used to create the product. The waste that occurs from this process has to be disposed of in some way and more often than not, it is disposed of carelessly with out consideration to the affect it would have on the environment or the very people that create and let capitalism live on, “The political economy approach also defers progress on environmental issues to a pint after economic ones are solved” (Robbins et al. 2010, 114). And if this continues there may be no place left for the excess waste created by capitalism.
The lifestyle of people across the world is developing rapidly. As there is a growing concern for people about the lifestyle and way of living, the scope for the microfinance industry is also at a growing pace. A large number of people across the world prefer finance for the purpose of purchase of consumer durables as well as lifestyle products. As the credit card EMI options are more expensive, people prefer NBFCs for the purpose of consumer durable loans. The project done in bajaj finserv explains the role of NBFCs in the consumer durable loans and the procedure undertaken in order to disburse the consumer durable loans.
As Tata Motors is an automobile company, the raw materials required in production of a car or a vehicle include aluminium, copper, platinum, palladium, rhodium, steel and zinc. The prices for these materials have been increasing in the recent years. An increase in price of input materials could severely impact its profitability. Additionally, increases in fuel costs also pose a significant challenge to automobile manufacturers worldwide, especially in the commercial and premium vehicle segments where increased fuel prices have an impact on
According to Investopedia the global competition resulted in less market share for the American car manufactures and caused a threat to company profit results because more foreign brands entered the American market. The total shares for General Motors fell from 28.2% in 2000 to 17.6% by 2014. The American manufactures were struggling to compete against better, more efficiently manufactured products from international companies and lower per-car costs have allowed foreign manufactures to gain bigger portions in the American market. Because their shares dropped so drastically they had to cut down on operating costs, they reduced their workforce by more than 40% eliminating brands and restructured employee compensation to create more effective
...fine all aspect of mechanical engineering very interesting. Over all I think that choosing mechanical engineering for this research paper was a good idea because I have learnt many thing about the career that could help me in the future if I wanted to become an engineer.
There are also several long term benefits of recycling. For example, “collecting and processing secondary materials, manufacturing recy...
A mechanical engineer is expected by profession to be on the frontline in the transformation of an idea from its design to marketplace (Van et al, 2011). The engineers are expected to understand the different types of forces that exist in the environment of the product they are manufacturing and its subsystems determine the best way to manufacture it so that it can perform without failure when implemented. According to (Van et al, 2011), mechanical engineers play central roles in industries such as aerospace industries and biotechnologies. This requires them to observe engineering ethics as professionals. The ethics are there to make an engineer be able to weigh the benefit that may result from completion of the project against the possible risks.
Therefore, many countries in the developed world have adopted recycling policies for disposal Of waste. The benefits of the recycling process include the following. Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment in the first place from the damage of burying and burning the waste or leaving it exposed Reduce the pollution of sea, ocean and river waters from dumping solid waste, threaten marine life, and reduce groundwater pollution from the waste of
My interest in the field of Automobile goes back to my early years in high school which is when I decided to pursue a career in engineering. As a child I was always fascinated by the very concept of automobile. Further, my father’s constant involvement in the automotive industry as an insurance claims assessor further enhanced my interests in automobiles. He was the one responsible for showing me the correct path to pursue my career in automobile field. Hence, after having completed my primary education, I decided to delve straight into the world of mechanics and engineering and pursued a diploma in mechanical engineering followed by a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Since there were very few options in India & there was no direct path to get into automobile field.
