Recommended: My teaching practice experience

To me, being a teacher is more than wanting to work with children. It’s loving a subject so much that you want to share your knowledge with others. It’s wanting to be a positive influence on their lives. It’s being a mentor and a scholar for those who seek out your guidance.
At SUNY Old Westbury I hope to acquire and develop the skills to run a successful classroom. I can learn these skills by working closely with my teachers. There are many techniques any great teacher must master if they want to be successful like how to work with people and how to lead them. I know that a graduate class is planned differently than a high school class, but how a teacher prepares a class is an expertise used at all levels.
Studying at Old Westbury would help

    It is one thing to have the knowledge of “the practice of mobilizing people to tackle tough challenges and thrive”. What I am persistent to do with that knowledge is what is important.
