Credibility is important in the work environment because it solidifies whether or not a person is trustworthy. Credibility is considered to be a person’s reputation that is based on a person’s work ethic, personal values, and also the ability to deliver on a promise (Cardon, 2013). Credibility may possibly be the most important aspect of effective leadership. The importance of credibility is staying committed and true to one’s words. Some of the key aspects of credibility are competence, caring, and character. Caring is another key aspect of being credible. Caring is being genuinely concerned about someone, and in the business world, caring is the best interests of the company. Genuine care for one’s work and the people who are involved builds rapport and success for the company. When a person knows that their employer and leaders are sincere in feelings, it makes it easy and enjoyable for employees to come to work and strive to meet the company’s goal. Perceived caring is the source of credibility that is a means for open communication (Teven & Hanson, 2004). The four ways leaders gain credibility from followers are, Ownership, Inspiration, Commitment, and Respect. Each of these allow a leader to show off their skills in many ways allowing them to be one with their followers. To be able to gain respect and inspire others, means a leader is able to connect with their followers. To commit to the work means they work with their followers, and to be an owner of their own actions allows them to accept their mistakes and learn from them, teaching followers in a new way.
Caring means to be concerned or solicitous; have thought or regard. My experience has taught me that in a caring a successful marriage or family a spouse or family member wants to feel appreciated. Showing concern through thoughtful actions validates ones’ feeling of appreciation. By expressing my appreciation to my spouse and child, I am fostering their commitment to survival of the family.
If the company owner of a food produce store says that they are going to create 2,000 jobs in the next year and only creates 10 he or she loses credibility. However, if they follow through and reach or surpass that number, they gain credibility. It takes time, but it is an effective way to gain legitimacy as a leader and have others listen and trust what that leader has to say.

Without credibility, organizations can deteriorate. The lack of credibility in a leadership role creates mistrust and ill feelings towards leaders. These burdens constituents carry, disrupts the organization of being successful. Leaders should full understand credibility. Credibility is earned when leaders set example and commit to their words (Kouzes & Posner, 2012). When credible is present within an organization, constituents are more motivated, committed, and feel a strong sense of team spirit for their company (Kouzes & Posner, 2012).
Conclusively, caring is an essential pillar in the nursing profession because it provides many aspects on how to interact with patients in regards to culture and believes. Further, communication, critical thinking, professionalism and holism are Conceptual Framework Pillars that are significant in the nursing field to provide an adequate quality care, but caring is a fundamental pillar that is enhanced by interactions with the patients. Finally, caring combines empathy, altruism, integrity, human dignity, autonomy, compassion, sensitivity and safety to provide an outstanding high quality care.

No one would argue that credibility of news sources is unimportant, but there is a discrepancy in what takes precedence; economy and speed or getting the information out correctly at the first publishing by taking the time to make sure all facts are checked. The importance of having a system of checks on all information submitted is paramount. People trust what they read and believe it to be so without always questioning. If all information were to not be checked thoroughly, there would be instances where people read an article only for information included to be wrong and they go on believing such information.
