When I read this article, “Why Is American Internet So Slow” I didn’t comprehend how decreased American superhighway (internet) is compared with other countries. In fact, the United States, who formulated networks, ought to have the quickest connection. In paragraph 1 it states, “America’s average download speed is 20.77 Mbps and was ranked 31st.” In addition, Hong Kong download speed is “72.49 Mbps.” I couldn’t fantasize that Hong Kong has more than three times accelerated internet than the U.S. Let alone, I couldn’t understand that the U.S. internet is more time-consuming than other countries. In my opinion, I thought this article was not reliable sources at first, by virtue of, I couldn’t accept how slow the U.S. internet download and upload

China joined the global Internet age in 1994, and has been commercially available since 1995. Since then, Chinese Internet usage has seen explosive growth, doubling every six months, and the number of online users is only second to the US. The Internet age ushered in the information age with a new world of freedom and expression for the Chinese. However, soon after its inception, the Chinese government has reined in the free wheeling Internet users and has imposed new laws and restrictions to access and content on the Internet.
In fact, the advent of the internet is one of the greatest inventions of the twenty-first century. Ellen Goodman’s “In praise of Snail’s Pace” is a well-written rhetoric that exposes the decadence of over indulgence in technology. Goodman is not totally against technology, instead she makes the claim that the world just need to slow down from hurrying; there are some things that are just natural and trying to use speed to accomplish such things only destroys the purpose which they are meant for. Goodman states, “There are rituals you cannot speed up without destroying them” (52). In all, the article is convincing and well composed, although it could have been better if she had added more statistics to represent her logical standpoint. Goodman’s choice of words- “fast in contrast to slow”, organization structure and simplicity of ideas, prove to be excellent. Also, her effective use of imagery, figurative expression, and logic give the argument the propensity to be accepted by
"In the modern and technologically advanced times that we live in, access to the internet is a human right and necessity to the developed world. It often helps to promote sociopolitical awareness and understand the rights that we deserve as human beings.
Companies are relocated some or all of their workforce to other countries where labor and material are cheaper. This has been bad for America, but the American companies are using it as a way of making more money by reducing their overhead. For America it is bad, because of the loss of jobs for people and loss of taxes paid by the company to the government.
The Internet is a global network connecting millions of personal, institutional and company computers. The number of computers used by the internet is growing rapidly. The United States is connected with over 100 countries worldwide and linked together to exchange of data, news and opinions. The Internet is decentralized design. This means that there isn't just one computer that stores all of the information from the Internet. There are many independent host servers located throughout the US and the world that store the information made available to the global Internet community.
One may think that this case would end easily by saying that a US based web...
"The internet is something that most people are connected to and use from looking at funny pictures on social media sites for storing private and sensitive information like medical records. People’s internet content shows a lot about someone and who they really are and that is something most people would like to keep private. However, can anyone, specifically the US government, access or monitor your internet content? Well, the simple answer is sometimes. The reasons for this vary through different levels of the government, from the local, state, and the federal government.
Internet privacy and security has become the concern of many individuals throughout recent years. There are a very limited amount of laws that have been enacted to combat computer or cyber related crimes. This has become an issue because as the internet grows increasingly popular so does the criminal and immoral behavior that abounds on it. With these crimes gaining in impact, effectiveness, and frequency, there needs to be more repercussions for these crimes. The United States government needs to increase restrictions on the amount and type of data on individuals from the internet, to prevent the government from invading privacy of citizens and to prevent companies from storing browser histories of individuals, to then sell that information to ad agencies and other companies.
Despite existing laws and privacy enhancing technological methods, the US is progressively taking full advantage of its dominant position not just as the home of companies like Facebook, Google and Twitter but also acknowledging jurisdiction on all websites registered in the US. Therefore, countries such Brazil, Iran, Russia, India and China “are now challenging United States hegemony of the Internet and even calling for the creation of a new governing body to oversee Internet policy” (Brooke, 2012, p.245).
Philippines also experiences the slowest internet in Pacific Asia (Camus). Although connection in the internet is very slow, Filipinos are patient waiting
The Internet has revolutionized the computer and communications world like nothing before. The Internet enables communication and transmission of data between computers at different locations. The Internet is a computer application that connects tens of thousands of interconnected computer networks that include 1.7 million host computers around the world. The basis of connecting all these computers together is by the use of ordinary telephone wires. Users are then directly joined to other computer users at there own will for a small connection fee per month. The connection conveniently includes unlimited access to over a million web sites twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. There are many reasons why the Internet is important these reasons include: The net adapts to damage and error, data travels at 2/3 the speed of light on copper and fiber, the internet provides the same functionality to everyone, the net is the fastest growing technology ever, the net promotes freedom of speech, the net is digital, and can correct errors. Connecting to the Internet cost the taxpayer little or nothing, since each node was independent, and had to handle its own financing and its own technical requirements.

The Internet is a telecommunications superhighway, a collective data of information for corporations, government institutions, private individuals, and universities. This branch of roads leads into nearly every corner of the globe. The superhighway, picks up potential travelers from far away places, exotic destinations, and interesting people. The internet can transport you from one major destination to another quickly, then it also can detour you into a leisurely exploration. Like a superhighway, the internet carries holiday and family traffic. Also traveling are both people who know precisely where they are going and those who are wandering. Government, educational, and business institution are also frequent travelers of the internet. In brief, the internet is an open road for anyone interested in a journey or for users who need a quick shortcut across the country.
