The title of my book is Lost in the Barrens. It is a fiction book by Farley Mowat that contains 244 pages. The main characters are Jamie MacNair,Awasin Meewasin,Angus MacNair,Alphonse Meewasin,Denikazi,Peetyuk Anderson. Jamie is Angus’s nephew,European,he is 15 years,used to living in Toronto at a private boys school,becomes good friends with Awasin,parents died in a car crash,he didn’t know how to live in the wild. Awasin is Alphonse’s sons,good friends with Jamie ,knows how to live in the wild,has bin to residential school. Alphonse is Awasin’s father,chef of the woodland cree’s,good friends with Angus. Angus is Jamie’s uncle,was paying for Jamie’s schooling but run out of money to pay for the school,Jamie went to live with him. Denikazi is a chef of the northern woodland cree,he took Jamie and …show more content…

After a year or less (it really doesn't say in book) Jamie become friends with Awasin and they have to live in the wild. When Denikazi comes to speak with Awasin’s dad who left with Angus to go to a trading post to get some money.Awasin and Jamie go to Denikazi’s camp and what they see disappoint them. They go on a two week hunt(phh). One night while sitting around a fire and telling story,one of Denikazis men tell a story about a stone house(a viking grave,Jamie found that out the hard way,by touching bones). So than Jamie tricks Awasin in to going to have a visite. They're canuo got smash in rapides on the way to the stone house. Jamie broke his leg and Awasin got a concoction and pass out. They found a baby caribou and they named him Otanak.They also found the Hidden Valley one day after exploring away from Stone Igloo Camp and they build a house. Otanak got killed by wolves,Awasin and Jamie found two Huskies and got snow blindness, the found Peetyuk and he helped them get home after

They find their way into a remote valley surrounded by dangerous cliffs and difficult terrain, where they are completely safe and cut off from the rest of the world. When the teenagers return to their homes, they find that all the families in the district have been abducted and locked into the show grounds by armed soldiers who are taking over Australia. After finding this, they perform many dangerous activities around the district to hold back the enemy’s progress. These including blowing up a bridge on a major convoy route and attacking an important bay used for shipping supplies. In this book the teenagers set out from New Zealand to help a small group of New Zealand soldiers attack the new airbase that has been built in the teenagers hometown. The New Zealand soldiers disappear without a trace and the teenagers have to attack the airbase themselves… The teenagers decide to look for the soldiers but end up getting trapped on an open paddock with a few trees. The only thing they could do is climb up the trees and wait till night. Once it was dark they got the horses in the paddock and rode them in pitch dark and at full gallop away from where they were. They ended up at the school and stayed there for a few days. When they left the school the tried to attack the air base by putting sugar in the petrol supply which was planned to make the planes crash while the were flying. Unfortunately it was a huge disaster because they couldn’t get the lids of the petrol trucks to put the sugar in. Main Characters: Fi: Fi is beautiful, intelligent, kind to her friends and she is perfect in every way. She is light and graceful, has beautiful skin and looks like she hasn’t done any hard physical work in her whole life. Fi is the kindest person but she is quick to tell Ellie when she is being annoying or stupid.

    This book is about a bunch of boys aged 6-12 that get stranded on an uninhabited island with no adults. They elect Ralph as leader and Jack and the choir members from his school as the hunters of the group. The little kids, or litluns as they are referred to in the book, believe there is a monster on the island, and as the book progresses some of the big kids believe the monster is real after a few kids mistake a dead man for the monster. Jack splits off from the group because he does not agree with Ralph's obsession with keeping the signal fire burning at all times and would rather be hunting then tending to it. The majority of the group goes with him except for Ralph, Piggy, Simon, Sam, and Eric. After one of the new groups hunts they cut off a sows head and put it on a spear, and stuck in the ground as an offering to the beast. Simon sees the dead man for what it really is and when he sees the pigs head it talks to him and tells him that his theory that the beast is actually just the boys fear of the unknown and it reveals itself to be the Lord of the Flies. When he goes to tell the other boys what he found out they mistake him for the beast and kill him out of fear. Jack's tribe realizes they cannot make cooking fires without Piggy's glasses so they ambush Ralph and the others in the night and steal Piggy's glasses. When Ralph, Piggy, Sam, and Eric go to speak with Jack's tribe to get Piggy's glasses back Ralph and Jack end up fighting, Sam and Eric get taken prisoner, and Roger kills Piggy. Sam and Eric (now part of Jacks tribe) warn Ralph that the tribe plans to hunt Ralph and put his head on a spear like they did to the sow. Roger tortures Sam and Eric until they tell him where Ralph is hiding, so Jack's tribe sets off hunting for Ralph and light the forest on fire to smoke Ralph out of hiding, but the fire burns out of control and the whole island catches on fire.
