The Five P’s In current times, success seems to determine everything about an individual. One of the main reasons people go to school is to grow up and become successful. Success is the reason anyone does anything. Whether it be a small or large-scale success does not matter. A person might make a sandwich to succeed in fighting off hunger, or a basketball team might take time to watch more film and spend time together as a team to succeed in winning a championship. Either way success motivates people. The question that goes with it is, was I successful? If one says yes, then they ask why? The answer almost always includes some amount of preparation. Some people attain success without preparation. Ultimately meaning that their success was not caused by their preparation. However, usually the success that is associated with a lack of preparation is not a real success. For say, one might buy a lottery ticket and win a large amount of money, but that isn’t much of a success. They did not earn it, and it just motivates them to work less. Although even in that example they still prepared for success by knowing the little odds of winning and just the matter of buying the ticket. Maybe someone claims that a professional athlete was just gifted with natural ability and that’s the only reason they succeed. Even then some amount of preparation was implemented. This athlete had to get there name out where it can be seen in order to play in a professional league. They also had to prepare for level changes and learn new rules. Preparation leads to confidence. Confidence is powerful. If one has the confidence to go out and do something that person will for sure succeed. Nervousness also will plague a person’s performance or chance to succeed. Preparation helps to eliminate nerves. However, it will not terminate all nerves. No matter what some nerves will happen because it just means that that person cares about what they are trying to succeed in. Preparation also can bring a sense of leadership to an individual. If one individual shows they have prepared it can lead to a groups success because they follow the prepared one. Ones who had not prepared then learn form that individual and prepare. Finally, preparation makes a success all that much sweeter. One can look back on their success and think of how much time and preparation they put in and now they have achieved what they were working for. That feeling of achievement cannot be surpassed or created in any other way besides preparing and succeeding in
