Students Should be Required to Wear Uniforms to School
Do you always ask yourself why do students wear those horrible uniforms? Well,
99% of the students do, some find that unnecessary, some find them obsolete, and others
just hate those unexciting colors. Nonetheless, they are wrong when they think that
uniforms are not necessary, since they are. Because the teachers need to see students as
equal, plus, clothes always distract other people, and as proved on a survey, 78% of the
students prefer clothes that are inappropriate for school and for some people these
clothes might be impolite.
When you meet somebody, what is the first thing that you look at? As humans, we
always take a first impression about people, and all the times criticize them depending of
the clothe that they wear, their appearance, and their manifestation in front of people, and
we do not do it because we are mean or terrible, everybody does, it is unavoidable. That is
one of the uniform’s function, maintain students as equal for the teachers, and that way
evading that teachers judge them, uniforms are an obligation, it is not their choice. Teachers
need to grade students, and this way they will do it about the students’ manners, not by
their clothes. And students need to have the same level and conditions on the class, because
they need to be equal to a teacher this way we can evade unfairness.
Aren’t colors and nice textures ...
First impressions are created by a composite of signals given off by a new experience (Flora, 2004). The judgment of these impressions depends on the observer and the person being observed (Flora, 2004). When you meet someone for the first time it takes about three seconds to be evaluated by the observer (Mind Tools, 1996-2011,). During this time the person forms an opinion about you based on your appearance, your body language, your demeanor, and how you dress (Mind Tools, 2996-2011,). Impressions are important to us because they are impossible to be reserved and the set the tone for all the relationships that follow (Mind Tools, 1996-2011).
...n will improve on student’s successes. It also helps from building gangster group when they wearing the uniforms because people would notice which school they go when they see them on the street. Over the fashion clothes, students do not need to compare each other for the famous brands. They don’t need to think what to wear every day. However, some of the parents still think it did not have their child individual’s right and support the uniform policy. People do not notice that school uniform is a lot more convenient than having the dress code policy. Even the courts are more support the school uniform than dress code policy. The dress code policy has a lot of rules to obey in contrast the uniform just have to wear what kind clothes schools provide. Wearing the school uniforms, make students stay more disciplined and focus in their studies and feels less pressure.
Many parents believe that uniforms will only stifle the students creativity. They will not be allowed to freely express themselves with the colors that they wear as well as the clothing itself. If a child is feeling particularly happy that day, he or she may want to wear their favorite outfit to express themselves and the way that they feel. If all students wear uniforms, the entire school will all look exactly the same, which takes away all creativity and suppresses individuality.
Many students lose self esteem when they can’t express themselves. Therefore students should not be required to wear uniforms. This is necessary because most students would like to show their style and technique. In addition, uniforms limit the freedom of expression for students in school. Furthermore, uniforms are expensive and parents may not be able to afford clothing that can be worn at school and home. Finally, students should not be forced to wear
First impressions are developed almost instantaneously and unconsciously. Winerman (2005) stated “people often judge each other on immediate intuitions. We make split-second judgments of strangers all the time” (p. 54). Within seconds of encountering a stranger, we have the uncanny ability to take in and decipher their posture, eye gaze, tone of voice, body position, gestures, and facial expressions. This results in our split-second judgment about what kind of person this individual is. This, in turn, becomes a first impression or “gut instinct”.
People review your visual and behavioral appearance from head to toe. They observe your demeanor, appearance, body language and even assess your grooming and accessories—purse, watch, clothing. Once the first impression is made it is virtually unchangeable.
A problem that most schools (that don't use uniforms) run into is the dress code. Girls wearing too short of shorts, spaghetti straps, leggings, v neck
The issue of wearing school uniforms has been subject to debate over a number of years. It is important to note that initially, the concept of students wearing school uniforms was not widely embraced. Initially, the concept of wearing school uniforms was mainly practiced in private schools and public schools begun to apply the concept as recently as 1994 (Chen, “Public School Uniforms: The Pros and Cons for Your Child”). This move was mainly implemented to address safety issues that have been affecting academic institutions. However, there are still different schools of thought that have reservations when it comes to the issue of wearing school uniforms. This boils down to the question of whether school uniforms are beneficial or they have
students to wear uniforms or not. I have weighed the pros-and-cons, and although I can see a few drawbacks, ultimately, I support the idea. While I’ve considered the notion that uniforms may restrict our student’s individuality, undermine the whole “free education” idea, and might also be viewed as a band-aid solution to a few of the larger concerns our public schools face, however I strongly maintain that there are far more advantages than disadvantages. The U.S. Departments of Education’s Manual on School Uniforms states “Uniforms by themselves cannot solve all of the problems of school discipline, but they can be one positive contributing factor
Uniforms are worn for many different reasons such as being in jail or going to work, and you can see them today almost anywhere in the world. Now uniforms are becoming a popular trend amongst schools. The question is should students be forced to wear them? Some parents and teachers say that uniforms keep the students focused on academics and not fashion. Opposers believe that kids should have the freedom to choose what they wear to school. Although, uniforms do limit the student’s choice to wear whatever they please, which is the con to having the enforcement, uniforms are supposed to be looked upon as a positive thing. They eliminate bullying, help students focus only on academics, combine social classes and gives the school campus a professional
In conclusion, students should not have to wear uniforms because of certain reasons. First of all, uniforms limit kids ability to express their personality and second, they cost too much money to only wear to one location. Schools who require uniforms should rethink them and change their dress code
Because of the uniform the student ho study in schools were are the uniform is mandatory he probably will not study hard because this is the nature of the hymen they do not give all their efforts if the place in which they work in is tedious and do not have any thing to interest them. Also, the student prefer to dress what they like, and some schools do not let them because they think that school is to study not to flaunt wealth. They say that it is for the benefit of the students. Actually, uniforms are iterative because of their dark colors. More often than not, most of the uniforms come in dull colors. It’s always dark blue, khaki, green, black and other tedious colors, and the student will wear it every day in the school. He will feel board because of the tiresome uniform that will affect the student greed because he is board of school, and he will not give all his effort in his study. Actually if people look to the school from above it will look like an army base. If school let the student wear what they like, they will be exited to go to school, and the school will look beautiful and colorful, and of curs the students’ performance will improve because they will study with high
Should school uniforms be required? Some say that uniforms help students focus on academics instead of fashion. Others believe that students should have the freedom to choose what they wear to school in order to express their differences and their uniqueness. After considering both sides of the issue, I strongly believe that uniforms should be introduced in primary public and private schools. Wearing school uniforms does not promote unfair comparisons between student’s incomes in terms of clothing; they aid students in developing their inner qualities instead of focusing on the outer aspects of themselves in the crucial earlier years of their lives, and provides a platform for practicing discipline.
School Uniforms have become more and more common throughout the years in the United States. Many parents and students do not agree with the implementation of uniforms because they believe it takes away their child's own “style” or “creativity”. However, some parents feel that uniforms add an extra safety barrier for their children. Although some may say school uniforms limit their students’ freedom of dress, school systems should implement uniforms because uniforms create an equal environment for all students, uniforms keep students focused on their education, not the clothes others’ are wearing, and school uniforms increase student safety.
With uniforms, it may restrict the desire for students to dress themselves to impress or stand out. Wearing something they are comfortable with and what they love may increase their confidence level and not curb their creativity. Sometimes when students had to obey the rules and regulations, they might feel locked up inside as they cannot really express themselves. This case can lead to several discipline cases as a student can act aggressively since they think the need to wear uniforms will cut off their
