INTRODUCTION
In an everyday society, work is a thing of a necessity in order to make a living. Work is not always on the basis of receiving an income, but could also be on the basis of doing unpaid work that is required of everyone. In work organisations, what we find is that work comes with its own struggles and control amongst the workforce. Work can be defined as “task-based activities for which people get paid for”, (Watson 2008:2). Giving work such a solid definition is inadequate, work can also be defined as an activity that requires effort or time spent finishing a task. In many workforce, work organisation and the division of labour is often determine by managerial control, throughout this essay the following will be discussed the struggle to control work, the different ways in which work is organised and the way in which managerial control is implemented.
It is said that in the workforce the struggle of control plays a major role, this is solely on the basis of work ethnic in one’s opinion. Many principles govern the organisation of work. Before elaborating further on this topic, it is important a clear explanation of work is given. As stated before work is now done on the basis of receiving an income only but of a broad nature. “Work is divided into two aspects, the first one being of a task-based activity and secondly on the notion of receiving an income”, (Watson 2008:2-3). In any workplace, work the organisation of work differs. Work organisation is determine by factors such as qualification, working conditions, type of work etc. but getting back to the topic on hand which is the problems of control of work in the workplace.

CONCLUSION
In a nutshell, work organisations is determine by the division of labour and the division of labour is determine by factors such as education, experience, skills etc. this is particular wrong because that in turn discriminates against employees that have less education but have many skills. The way in which work is control has its struggles but not all management follow proper ethics and procedure and not all employees do so as well. Managers who lack to be informed on the production process make it easy for work to be uncontrolled. The question that still lingers is that will control ever be somewhat of daily bread for ever business or will we still be forcing the same problem in the next years to come? Only time will tell.
Work is a word that one hears on a daily basis on multiple different levels; work out, work at school, go to work, work at home, work for change. Society today is made of people that work hard every moment of their day from sunrise to twilight, these workers work for food, housing, family, education, and transportation. Essentially in today’s world if one wants something they must work for it, gone are the days where handouts are common and charity is given freely. The question then arises, who speaks for these voiceless workers that are often working so hard they have no time to voice an opposition? One being the ideal of complete laziness and the other, hostility towards work. Fromm believes the reason why people have animosity regarding work is due to their unconscious mind. Subconsciously, a person has “a deep-seated, hostility towards work and all that is connected to it” says Fromm. I believe what Fromm is saying to be true, after all I witness it everyday. Millions of people each day goes to a work which they are dissatisfied with and that can negatively impact their attitude
In order to show the potential harms of division of labor, Tocqueville presented an example about making pin head. He believed that a worker, who make pin heads over twenty years, wouldn’t do more but making pin heads. The Division of Labor emphasizes individuality along with providing a variety of specific task. Many theorists saw Division of Labor as breaking down task into simpler and assigned that task to certain individuals. In society, we tend to rank individual from high to low in hierarchy system. We based individual in the society by importance, power and wealth. Although now a days most jobs require a degree of individual and group work and it is left to the management to identify which method might be appropriate for the task (Belbin, M, 2007). In this essay I will be looking at how organisation can use work group to their advantage, and the different factors that can affect a work group’s performance. In addition, I will also be discussing when is it appropriate to use work group and individual, and discus whether an organisation can reply solely on work group to be for it to be successful.
The vision of hustling bodies performing their simple tasks in seemingly infinite repetition as part of a project too large to be understood from the particular action pervades our world to the extent that it becomes hard to imagine life without it. Indeed, the vision offers a larger narrative into which all of our experiences can fit, as if we were always just minor contributors to grand projects, where the only question is whether or not the projects are good. Marx considers this division of labor as it presents itself in society, in the form of social roles and subgroup responsibilities, as opposed to a seemingly similar order in capitalist factory organization. As a part of his wider critique of capitalism, Marx makes a distinction between the division of labor in society and in production, then uses the distinction to make capitalism appear merely contingent and vulnerable to substantial criticism.
In Today’s world, the composition and how work is done has massively changed and is still continuing to change. Work is now more complex, more team base, depends greatly on technological and social skills and lastly more mobile and does not depend on geography. Companies are also opting for ways to help their employees perform their duties effectively so that huge profits are realized in the long term .The changes in the workplaces include Reduction in the structure of the hierarchy ,breakdown in the organization boundaries , improved and better management tactics and perspectives and lastly better workplace condition and health to the employees.
