Nowadays, a great leader plays a very important role in our daily life as a leader will influence his or her followers who intend changes. Apart from that, leader will also share the same purpose with followers in order to achieve the outcome. Jobs was the type of autocratic leader. He was a decision maker and the decisions that he made were with minimal discussion or consultation. Besides that, he required his followers to follow his ideas and instructions (Celse, 2014). As business environment and information technology (IT) change at a fast pace, the quicker the decisions he made, the quicker the response towards those changes. This helped him to adapt to the changing business environment and hence led to the success of Apple Company. On the contrary, due to his authoritative, he preferred to work with those employees that could rival his ideas, visions and also intelligence (Celse, 2014). Positive personalities contribute to the way of success. There are many traits personalities, such as openness, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness and neuroticism. For example, both Steve Jobs and Tan Sri Tony Fernandes have personalities such as openness and conscientiousness. However, only having positive personalities is not enough but also good attitude. Attitude is much more important than personalities. This is due to no one will willing to follow an arrogant and self-centered leader. Followers want a leader that can influence them and lead them to achieve their shared purpose. Thus, leaders that have good attitude will be more successful as people are more willingly to follow them. To demonstrate, Steve Jobs can be used as the negative example.
