A Saint Lucy student not only lives by the Catholic Christian values, but also understands the value of integrity, communicates effectively, and yearns to learn. The welcoming atmosphere has always drawn me towards Saint Lucy. The bright smiling teachers and loving community is not one to be forgotten but remembered. The long-lasting sense of community and support for all student growth is an important attribute of Saint Lucy School. The bonds between teachers and students, best friends, and students last a lifetime. Each day, teachers have pushed us to develop skills for life through faith-development, challenging academics, leadership opportunities, and service to others.

My class is extremely creative, but not productive. It took new teachers an average of a couple months to discover our creativity an. Since then, teachers have been creating activities that express our individuality and uniqueness. These activities include the essay for Mrs. Hansen’s an idiot week. For this assignment, each of us were given the chance to teach our teacher, Mrs. Hansen, how to do something. Over the years, most teachers develop special bonds with their students. For example, I was offered the opportunity to take Algebra I over the summer by my math teacher from the previous year. He had realized that I enjoyed being challenged with new topics while maintaining a good grade. As a result he offered me a proposition. This proposition was to complete the pre-algebra course book in addition to small meetings over the summer to make sure that I understood the lessons. I spent the whole summer completing the lessons in the book. This April, I was able to take the challenge test for Algebra I and succeeded. Next year, I will be taking Geometry at Archbishop Mitty High School. A Saint Lucy student is willing to attempt challenges to gain a better understanding, but also able to help others comprehend and practice the …show more content…
Saint Lucy’s has prepared me to face a future that is ready for me to explore the unknown. The dedication of our parents and teachers at Saint Lucy’s have helped my classmates and I thrive in our abilities to perform academically and socially. Saint Christopher, the patron saint of travelers and children, is one of the most popular yet mysterious saints of the Catholic Church. Though considered a saint. Saint Christopher is not in the official canon of the saints, and not much is really known about him. It is theorized that Saint Christopher was actually a martyr named Reprobus who was beheaded in the third century.
I visited Mrs. Cable’s kindergarten classroom at Conewago elementary school one afternoon and observed a math lesson. Mrs. Cable had an attention-grabbing lesson and did many great things in the thirty minutes I observed her. I have my own personal preferences, just like every teacher, and I do have a few things I would do differently. There are also many ways this observation can be related to the material discussed in First Year Seminar.
...roughout the session. “Good teachers are not born, nor are they made by tutors. They make themselves. Whats more, anyone can teach well. Research shows that there is no personality type that makes a good teacher. Whether you are a shy introvert or an enthusiastic extrovert, you can teach effectively, but only if you know how to learn from your mistakes and your successes”. (Petty 2009 pg.516 2009)
St. Sebastian was born in Narbonne, Gaul in 256 AD. He was a Christian saint and martyr. He was enlisted into the roman army under Emperor carinus to assist the martyrs. He was very courageous so he became a Praetorian Guard captain under Diocletian, who was unaware he was a christian. In 286 he was detected, Diocletian then commanded him be taken to a field and tied to a stake to be used for anchor targets. The archers then began shooting arrow after arrow at him.Miraculously, the arrows did not kill him. The widow of Castulus,Irene of Rome, went to retrieve his body to prepare him for burial , and she discovered he was still alive. She brought him back to her house and nursed him back to health. In the past many have claimed that Kincaid’s short novel Lucy uses its main character resembles many events that took place in Kincaid’s life. However, limited readers appear to have noted how, in crafting Lucy’s involvements in the novel, Kincaid’s literary piece engages in issues of infidelity. Considerably, Kincaid makes Lucy’s character perfectly aware that it is ordinary for infidelity to happen when a man is part of a relationship. Lucy’s father is unfaithful to Lucy’s mother, Lewis cheats on Mariah, and Paul does the same to Lucy. Through Lucy’s practices, Kincaid’s short novel communicates as an idea that men across cultures are not trustworthy, and the consequences of their disloyalty for women are serious.
Teaching English Composition, Beth and Julie find a way to convince their students that all of them possess abilities to succeed. Providing explicit guidelines for writing assignments, giving detailed feedback, and understanding students’ perceptions of course material are the main strategies that both professors use in their classes. Beth and Julie encourage students do not give up when faced with challenges. For instance, one of Julie’s students, Collin, says, “When we did the research paper, that scared the hell out of me, she [Julie] encouraged me like nobody has ever encouraged me” (121). Collin considers that Julie gave him the assurance to overcome his fears and succeed even in his further courses. Both professors point out that students have to participate in class activities, be responsible for completing their assignments, and expect to do more than minimal work. Beth considers that students need to be heard and valued. Furthermore, providing constant encouragements makes students feel more comfortable. Julie and Beth show authority in their classroom, but both of them are able to encourage students and reduce the level of anxiety. As a result, students benefit from interactions with their professors and

Would you let down your family for the love of your faith? Would you marry for money or not
Before a teacher can impart knowledge to a student, the teacher must first understand how this can be done. The teacher should know the various ways people learn, and she specifically must seek to understand her own students’ intellectual strengths. Using Howard Gardner’s Th...
A Saint is a person of great holiness and virtue which was exactly who Saint Bernadette de lourdes was. her full name is Marie-Bernadette Soubirous and she was born in Lourdes, France on January 7th, 1879 and lived until the age of 35. Saint Bernadette was the eldest of six children of a rather poor family but despite the harsh living conditions that surrounded Bernadette her faith remained strong for she kept in mind that her sufferings were nothing compared to what our Lord Jesus Christ had to do for us, “Why must we suffer? The Saint I chose is Saint Matthew. I chose Saint Matthew because my fathers name is Matthew and Saint Matthew was a tax collector and I am good at math so this represents me. Matthew is remembered for a few things such as being one of Jesus's 12 disciples and the first author of the New Testament. Matthew was born in Palestine in the 1st century A.D. and his cause of death was in the Orthodox Church, tradition says that St. Matthew refused to die even after several attempts. He was first placed upside down and lit on fire, then sunk in a coffin in the sea overnight. The ruler of Ethiopia, who tried to kill Matthew, apologized to the apostle and converted to Christianity. His ethnicity was the Middle East and he was a catholic. Also,

We would learn a concept and spend a week on it where here we learn something new every day. Like we had the first day and then a concept check the next class. I was
As a facilitating instructor, I plan to construct an eclectic blending of a student-centered, yet authoritative, classroom. In this respect, I will take both a demanding and responsive approach to teaching, while still allowing my students to remain actively involved in the learning process. My aim is to increase the motivation of children by providing them with reasonable choices regarding structure and materials. Focusing on problem solving activities, rather than mere rote learning and dogmatic instruction, I shall strive to develop students' abilities to think analytically and creatively. At the same time, however, I hope to improve their social skills by engaging them in real-world activities.
On January 28th St. John died as a martyr. He performed many miracles during his life time. When John was a young man he was not very religious. John was a sinner, he would not care much about Jesus and the Church. But one day when John walking on the shores of a beach he finds a stray dog lying on the shore. When he approaches the dog he can see that the dog had been physically abused and abandoned by the owner. John left but he felt guilty and came back to see if the dog was still there. While he was walking towards the dog he sees many people around trying to help the dog. John approaches and prays for the dog, then miraculously the dog wakes up. People around him were all shocked the dog had just been revived. Another miracle he performed
