A Saint is a person of great holiness and virtue which was exactly who Saint Bernadette de lourdes was. her full name is Marie-Bernadette Soubirous and she was born in Lourdes, France on January 7th, 1879 and lived until the age of 35. Saint Bernadette was the eldest of six children of a rather poor family but despite the harsh living conditions that surrounded Bernadette her faith remained strong for she kept in mind that her sufferings were nothing compared to what our Lord Jesus Christ had to do for us, “Why must we suffer? Because here below pure love cannot exist without suffering. O Jesus, Jesus I no longer feel my cross when I think of yours”. St. Bernadette was known as the Lady of great faith for her admiration of the Blessed Virgin Mary was astonishing, for she had been receiving several vision of our blessed mother. …show more content…

She began to spread her experience amongst others and many were in denial and others were amazed inspired to follow the way of the Lord. Following her visions St.Bernadette attended a school titled The sisters of notre dame, she did this in the year of 1866, 8 years after the time period of her visions. During her time in the Sisters of notre dame, Bernadette experienced a few hardships but she refused to let that become her downfall, she continued to aspire with her strong faith. After her schooling, the Saint reached out to a local priest a requested for a chapel to be built at the site of where she used to receive her visions. A chapel was eventually built at that exact location and that site is now one of the most visited sites in the world.     Frances Cabrini was born in July 15, 1850 to Agostino Cabrini and Stella Oldini in Sant’Angelo Lodigiano, Lombardi, Italy. She was one of eleven children born to the Cabrini family and one of the only four children that survived past adolescence. She was born two months premature and was small and weak as a child. These factors, as well as the strong faith of her parents, would have an impact on the rest of her life, mission, and works. Agostino Cabrini, her father, often read Propagation of the Faith to her and the rest of the family. The stories were all about the missions in China and from a young age, Frances desired to become a missionary. By the age of eighteen, Frances knew that she wanted to be a nun, however; her weak health stood in the way. She could not join the Sacred Heart of Jesus. So instead, in 1863, Frances enrolled as a boarding student at the Normal School in Arluno with the intentions of becoming a schoolteacher. The school was directed by the Daughters of the Sacred Heart. Frances lived at the school for five years, residing in the convent with the nuns. Frances was elated to live with the nuns and to share a faith-centered life with them. She graduated from the Normal School in 1868 with a degree in teaching.
