Sport pedagogy as a whole is the root, structure and base layer of youth athletes being educated in sport, it is how the “children learn, both in and through sport” (Armour, 2011, P12). The word ‘andragogy’ tends to be the word which is used as pedagogy for adults. (Armour, 2011). Cognitivism is a learning theory which can be defined by “the individual learner gains environmental data via the senses (sensory input). These data are processes and organised (thinking). Thereafter, the learner can act on the world (the output of thinking and activity)” (Harris 2000, p2). In real life sporting examples, it can be as easy as chunking the activity, for example, if you were practicing a tennis serve, you could chunk it by remembering; ‘high elbow, lose arm, throw up and not forward’. This can help a player remember in chunks, this theory was created by Miller. As said by Miller, the coach in the netball session was clearly chunking with the netball shooting, for instance, breaking down the shot by just working on the feet. The main learning objectives were on accuracy and endurance, with the coach having objectives, this meant the athletes could easily keep in mind on what to focus on. Along with this, the coach kept asking the participants whether ‘it was ok?’ this reassures the coach that she was helping the girls and making improvements correctly. Overall I believe the coach approached the session in the correct way but there were parts which she could have used more learning techniques to help the players or be more confident in herself so that the players could be more
Due to the increase of popularity of the interscholastic athletic activities on the past few years, several researches process, recommendation, and manuals have been developed by diverse organizations such as the American college of sports medicine, and the national athletic trainer association. These organizations and their members have been working extensively to develop awareness over the importance of providing high quality medical service which can improve the medical outcome of the patient. At the same time, these organization developed regulations to standardize the medical service offered by the sport medicine team; especially by athletic trainers.

The purpose of this research is to first define physical education. Then, I will explore the history of P.E. In the following section, I will compare and contrast the PE curriculum from past to present. Next, a description of the schooling requirements to become a physical education teacher will be given. Finally, I will share a reflection of my experience with an actual Physical Education teacher. Being a P.E teacher is the career I want, so why not research and get ahead on things?

Throughout an educational discourse, inclusion is a highly debated subject throughout the curriculum. During the past decade, there have been exceptional levels of funding and resources solely aimed at physical education and school sport within the United Kingdom (UK). The DFE suggests that 57% of children with SEND attend a mainstream school (DfES 2007). Physical Education (PE) has been a rising topic of discussion due to decrease in activity and an increasing level of child obesity within the UK(Coates and Vickerman 2009). There are various implemented strategies such as Physical Education School Sport and Club Links (PESSCL) and Physical Education and Sports Strategy for Young People (PESSYP), which are instruments to ‘direct and guide practice and policies’ (Fitzgerald and Stride, 2012). Using these governmental strategies, schools try and challenge and attempt to increase participation and engagement with the aim of providing ‘high quality PE lessons’ (Griffin 2012), which targets the government initiative particular the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games to encourage an promote inclusive PE and school sport (Green 2009). Additionally, Fitzgerald and Stride (2012) distinguish on the concluding issue of inclusion should be recongised as part of a broader international concern to promote inclusive education (Forlin et al. 2008). There are various aspects, which are of high debate within inclusion regarding the national curriculum, initial teacher training and experiences of student and teachers.
A physical education program must include three domains: cognitive, psychomotor and affective ways of learning. In the cognitive domain, students will learn information of how to keep themselves physically fit and how to live long and healthy lives. In the psychomotor domain, students will meet fitness standards and develop the proper skills to participate in all movements patterns through physical activities. In the affective domain, students will be taught how to work with and respect one another while participating in physical activity. They will also learn values through this domain such as, being on time to class, dressing properly, and learning what work ethic is through physical activity instead of just going through the motions. In order for a successful physical education curriculum to be implemented these three domains must be evident on a daily basis through the use of objectives. In this course I experienced an important change in my beliefs about teaching; I came to understand that there are many different theories and methods that can be tailored to suit the teacher and the needs of the student. The readings, especially those from Lyons, G., Ford, M., & Arthur-Kelly, M. (2011), Groundwater-Smith, S., Ewing, R., & Le Cornu, R. (2007), and Whitton, D., Barker, K., Nosworthy, M., Sinclair, C., Nanlohy, P. (2010), have helped me to understand this in particular.
