Since thanksgiving is coming up, I’ve been reflecting on the things I’m thankful for that I don't thank often enough. One of those things is you. I'm very glad I had you in Spanish for both sixth and seventh grade because you really brought out my love of Spanish. I never thought I had it in me to learn another language but with your help I got an amazing start with Spanish. You always encouraged us students to learn Spanish so that we could actually know it, not just to get our worksheets done. Your Spanish classes have motivated me to continue learning Spanish even after high school.
I just wanted to let you know how much you have effected my love of language. So thank you very much. Have an amazing Thanksgiving!
Sincerely, Elaina
In this paper I am writing about my enriching Mexican culture. I have practice two cultures but I mostly relate to my Mexican culture. Mexican culture is filled with art, music, and religion. This cultural has been around for decades and they have been through so much but yet they have keep some of the same valves since the Aztec times. Mexican belief on health has a great impact from religion and what can be found naturally by earth.
Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday that means fifth of May in English. It is celebrated all over the world, in many different ways. It is celebrated because it is in remembrance of the Mexican army’s victory of the 1862 Battle of Puebla during the Franco Mexican War against France. This holiday is actually just a minor holiday in Mexico, it is more celebrated in America by the more populated areas with Mexican Americans. One of the largest places in is Los Angeles, California, where it is a large party with food, dancing, parades. A lot of people get this holiday and their independence day mixed up. Their independence day is actually on September 16th. This holiday is also known as the Battle of Puebla.
Hola, Reyna and Alejandro are always happy to hear how you and your family are doing. Alejandro said that Nevlyn doesn't look like the little blond boy that would ride his bike up and down the street. We are all really sorry to hear about your friend Ellen. I hope those little boys find some "mom love" in you, like we did when we needed some extra cuddles. I'm happy to hear that you still use your Spanish a lot in and out of work. Nevertheless, I'm sure your Spanish has evolved into a Puerto Rican/Cuban accent.
The increase and changing demography in the United State today, with the disparities in the health status of people from different cultural backgrounds has been a challenge for health care professionals to consider cultural diversity as a priority. It is impossible for nurses and other healthcare professionals to learn and understand theses diversity in culture, but using other approaches like an interpreter is very helpful for both nurses and patients. In this paper of a culturally appropriate care planning, I will be discussing on the Hispanic American culture because, I had come across a lot of them in my career as a nurse. The Hispanic are very diverse in terms of communication and communities and include countries like Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, South and Central America, and some of them speak and write English very well, some speaks but can’t write while some can’t communicate in English at all but Spanish.
Christmas is a very important celebration in most parts of the world. It is an annual festive celebration where families come together. In Mexico La Navidad is one of the most special celebrations that include many different events. Christmas in this part of the reign is not a one-day celebration; it starts on December 9 and ends January 6. Some of the most popular celebrations during Christmas are Las Posadas, La Cena de Nochebuena, and Los Reyes Magos.
During fall, the leaves fall, the temperature drops, and people sit around a table and say what they are thankful for. While we are consuming pounds of turkey and stuffing, the Pilgrims are to thank for the annual feast. Because the meaning of this holiday is to not stuff your face with endless amount of carbs, we should be reminded of how grateful we are for what we own. Thanksgiving was a very memorable time in U.S. history.
Christmas is a holiday filled with tradition, family, and happiness, but what most people don’t know is that Christmas is celebrated all over the world, not just the United States. Latin American countries are especially passionate about Christmas. The way Hispanic people celebrate changes throughout each country. Each one has its own unique Christmas culture. In this essay I am going to write about some of these different countries, and tell how each one is similar and different in showing their Christmas spirit.
“Culture is a cluster of intangibles and tangible aspects of life passed down from generation to generation.”(cite) More importantly, culture is define as the way of life of a group of people who share these same values and beliefs, therefore, we will check the Hispanic culture. The U.S. Census Bureau defines Hispanic or Latino as mutual inhabitants in the United States who are of Latin American or Spanish origin. Latinos has become a larger proportion of the U.S. population, there is a greater need for social work education to offer culturally sensitive training to social work students (Furman, Bender, Lewis, & Shears, 2006; Iglehart & Becerra, 1995). A Hispanic woman, Marcela Hede voices that, “Being Hispanic is mainly defined by my language
I wanted to thank Ms. Geary for reminding me how much writing can do for me. It helped me realize that writing isn’t so horrible but it is just hard work. My writing skills have improved due to this class and all Ms. Geary had taught me. She made class fun with her inflections and just the way she says everything, her personality definitely showed through. I looked forward to class but never the homework. Finally after reading over my final drafts of: My Past as a Writer, Problematic Essay and my Exploratory Research Paper I realize that I have dramatically improved my writing skills in every draft thanks to revisions and some positive criticism for Ms. Geary. I think I am now ready to take on the next step in the English world.
Good afternoon, let me just start by saying that the kindness, support, friendship, and love extended to me and my family during this difficult time has really touched my heart- we are sincerely appreciative!
Before the night is over, I want to wish everyone a very happy thanksgiving. I hope your day was filled with love, laughter, good food and loved ones. I also want to express how grateful I am for my wonderful husband and son! These two mean the world to me. Without them, I would be lost.
I had many opportunities to choose and attend an event, but I wanted it to be the perfect event. The experience I wanted to obtain from the event I selected had to be memorable, authentic and entertaining. Thus, the event I decided to attend was titled “Fiesta de la Familia”, it was held on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Chase Field – Gila River Casinos (Plaza 401 East Jefferson St. Phoenix, Ariz. 85004) from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm. The Diamond Backs hosted this event; it was their first cultural street festival.
Thanksgiving is a universal time of thankfulness. A day in which we set our differences apart like the early pilgrims and Native Americans and give thanks. But what has happened to people being actually thankful at the dinner table. They perform a ritual on feasting on turkey and pumpkin pie and race to the local super stores looking for great deals on waffle irons. Marketers have turned the usually festive and humble holiday into greed and gluttony.
Thank you for asking if you can help me work on my homework. It shows me that you are genuinely supportive of my goals, which are a part of who I am.
Maybe I don't have to thank you, but I want to. I want to thank you for all the days you help me, for all the times you accepted my insanity, and for believing in me. I can't imagine how you were once a stranger, I can't imagine my life without you! I wouldn't find a better partner to join me in my sarcastic events, in my depressing days, and in my successful ones.
