What was your favorite class in school? For me, it will always be Spanish class. Spanish is a class that students enjoy because it benefits then later in life, presents a cultural connection to other people, and sets them up well for high school.
First of all, students enjoy learning Spanish as a child because it will help you in a myriad of ways. Most notably, the prospect of getting a job. Spanish opens the door to many translating jobs seeing as it is one of the most common languages in the Americas. If you are really into the language, then a job as a teacher could be beneficial. But, jobs aren’t the only way Spanish can help you. You will need to know this if you are traveling to Southern America. In fact, it may be helpful even to know it even if you don’t travel there often. Knowing spanish is almost mandatory to know around the world. It could even save your life in certain circumstances.

To begin with, even speaking the language with your teacher helps you to understand their lives better. For example, my Spanish teacher, Sr. Fuentes is from Peru and provides us with many thrilling stories of his life experiences. Having this connection demonstrates the difficulty of learning a new language. Aside from that, there are many more literal examples of connections. For starters, even just knowing which countries speak Spanish helps to understand it. This language is more than a language, it is a way of life. Also, (Knowing the language can help you negotiate. For example, if you are trying to strike a deal by texting somebody it may not work out because they have more time to think about what they are texting. The same thing goes with the language
Dia de los reyes magos is on Jan. 5 - Feb. 2 and the day is about the 3 wisemen, But January the 6th is the special day in Mexico….. this day represents the height of the Christmas season. This celebration is where it is stated that the kings, Melchor, Gaspar, and Balthasar, traveled by night all the way from the farthest confines of the Earth to bring gifts to Jesus, whom they recognized as the Son of God. As well as regal, the Three Kings are depicted as wise men, whose very wisdom is proved by their acknowledgement of Christ's divine status. Arrived from three different directions, the kings followed the light provided by the star of Bethlehem, which reportedly lingered over the manger where the Virgin Mary gave birth for many days. In
Being familiar with several different languages is most definitely not one of the easiest things to do. While growing up and experiencing different opportunities to learn different cultures there is no way it should be passed upon. Having the knowledge of different languages will offer one to have a lot more culture within there main culture and the one they are opening there self into. People with culture know their way around the world and the life they’re living. Also, it would permit one to travel to places all over the world and countries. Being knowledgeable about back rounds of several cultures will open a door for one with several opportunities throughout ones life time. Discovering different cultures will bring one around the world giving individuals chances to learn lifestyles in completely different ways. “Wild tongues can’t be tamed, they can only be cut out.” (Anzaldua) I enjoy this statement within writing my essay simply because it represents that she will continue to stay faithful to her language throughout her life.
disadvantaged child, I considered Spanish to be a private language. What I needed to learn in
What is culture? Many people ask themselves this question every day. The more you think about it the more confusing it is. Sometimes you start leaning to a culture and then people tell you you’re wrong or they make you feel like a different person because of your culture. I go through this almost every day. Because of the way I was raised I love Mexican rodeo but I was born and raised in Joliet. This can be very difficult trying to understand culture. I live in this huge mix of culture. Culture is personal. People can have many cultures especially in America and because of globalization. Cultural identity is not one or the other, it is not Mexican or American. Cultural identity is an individual relevant thing.
Originally I signed up to take Latin as my language course and I loved it until I was exposed to French. After taking French 1, I knew it was the best fit for me. Deciding to take French was a great decision because I have got a lot out of it. It has helped me get a deeper understanding of the culture. For example, when I was in French 1, every

My favorite subject in highs cool was math, since it required little English knowledge and my least favorite subject was Physical Education. I would have never thought that I was going to hate Physical Education because usually that’s a class most students would probably like to take again and again.
Speaking to someone in their native language is a great complement to that person. Most people do not care enough to learn the language of the country they are visiting. Some travelers expect the people to already know their language to the place that their traveling to. This being said, the ones who actually know the language to the place that they are traveling to, can hold a special place in the local heart. If a child grows up learning two languages, he/she will have a greater appreciation for, not just one, but both languages that they grew up learning, knowing and respecting. This can also be beneficial for school, homework, and tests. If that child knows both English and Spanish, and if they are discussing something that is related to Spanish, like history, that child could be interested since he/she g...
Without a doubt my favorite class this semester was AP Psychology. As someone who has been mesmerized by the brain, its functions, and human behavior, this class kept me constantly engaged and interested. Walking into class, I knew that every day I would learn something new. This class allowed me to gain a better understanding of people around me, and taught me patience when dealing with numerous different types of people. Also, this class has provided me with a basic understanding of why people do different things, and allowed me to grow and become more open to new things. I went into the class with lots of questions, and have found each of them answered in more depth than I thought about them originally. Prior to taking psychology, I knew
I grew up in a Hispanic country where Spanish is the official language. I think Spanish is one of the most wonderful languages in the world. It allows you to express your deepest feelings in the most beautiful way, specially when we talk about love. There is nothing more beautiful than hearing a love declaration when the one making it is using the Spanish language. Even if you are not one of those people for who talking beautifully is natural, you could still do a pretty good job if you just put a little bit of effort on into it. Spanish is a language where you can use a lot of different words to express the same thing. For example, if you want to say "beautiful" you can use: "hermoso, precioso, maravilloso". This language is also much longer and complicated to learn than the English language. For instance, in English when you conjugate a verb with each of the six different personal pronouns, the only form that really changes is the one used with the third person: she, he or it; while in Spanish each verb has different form for each of the six personal pronouns.
I did notice learning Spanish at an early age helped me retain vocabulary over a long period of time. Even though I did not learn a large amount of vocabulary and grammar, what I did learn stuck with me for years. When I finally revisited Spanish in high school, I had to learn the basics all over again. The structure of the class did not make it easy for me to remember much vocabulary after the semesters, or even after a few class periods. I think there were a number of reasons why I never retained as much Spanish as I did in kindergarten compared to when I learned it in high
Coming from a Spanish speaking household having to learn a new language can always be difficult. While, I was a child learning a second language was difficult. It was difficult for me to put words to use in the correct way. And use terms that make sense with one another term. It was difficult for me because some Spanish words sound the same as English words, and while learning I wanted to translate everything the way I say it in Spanish to English. For example, in Spanish “helo” means ice, but if you say it out loud it sounds like “yellow”. Little things like that will be a big issue to me. I have to put up with many looks from others and hear all sorts of criticism around me. Learning a new language at a young age was a struggle with reading
In today’s growing economy, knowing a foreign language can really open up opportunities, like getting a good paying careers. Most employers want to hire those who have a good understanding of the world they live and the cultures of others. A great way to learn about other cultures is through studying languages. That is the reason why I studied a globally recognized language and its culture, which is English, was not because it was required to pass school, but in order for me to effectively communicate with others and not to be ignorant and prejudice about the world around me.
() Moreover, people who are learning foreign languages develop self-confidence. Multilingual people tend to attract people because of their skills. You can overcome your fears and doubts, become more intelligent, meet new interesting people and travel to places you would have never dared to visit before. This means that if you learn foreign languages, this is likely to improve your ability to solve financial difficulties, for example.
