Southwest Texas State University Parking Control Memorandum
Over the past few years, the parking control office has been expanded and made more efficient by the addition of computers and the implementation of new filing procedures. Unfortunately, the department is still not providing the services it is capable of. This is due to the fact that the parking control office is under staffed in respect to counter attendants. This lack of sufficient people to work the front counter causes the process of appealing and paying parking tickets to become extremely bogged down. This proposal provides a cost effective solution to the problem that will not only help parking control, but will also benefit anyone doing business with the office.
PROBLEM
The parking control office is currently operating with thirteen full time employees and approximately ten part-time student assistants. Of these twenty-three people, only two are able to work the counter where tickets are paid and appeals are made. With the increasing number of students and visitors on campus, more traffic is coming through the parking control office. There is often a long wait in line, which eventually leads to hostile attitudes from the customers. These problems only slow the process down even futher. This increasingly slow process is beginning to cause time related problems on part of the students, visitors and the staff of the parking control office.

...rking control needs to make some changes. By adding another counter worker, parking control will be able to provide a more prompt service to those individuals who take the time to come to the office and pay or appeal their tickets. Also, the hiring of two part-time individuals, as S. Prentice -5- June 25, 1997
opposed to one full-time individual, will save the department money due to the fact that no benefits will have to be paid and unnecessary over-time will be done away with.
As an employee of this department, I feel the addition of an extra counter worker will help the parking control office process more transactions a day and it will also make the process of paying and appealing tickets more convenient for everyone involved. If I can be of futher assistance, please contact me at home.
...tremely difficult to see what held up the different lines from one scenario to the next. We think that things may have been related to the finger scanning machines but could not make accurate conclusions from our vantage points. Though both parks forced our observers to walk around to getter a better view of the patrons entering the park it was for very different reasons. At IoA our observers had to maneuver themselves around the crowd to get a decent view of the line that was otherwise blocked by the large lines forming early in the morning. However, by the time we got US the lines had thinned significantly, even to the point where some gates were empty of patrons trying to get in. Because of this our observers had to move far from the documenter in order to retrieve accurate data as often as possible.
Time available: As we discuss some trainings has to be provided to all employees including the line supervisors and line workers they have to be divided into groups so that they don’t halt the continuous production for everyone.

The use of police to monitor intersections poses its own problems. First, there are not enough officers in urban areas to monitor every intersection on a regular basis. Second, if police officers have to remain at problematic intersections to observe traffic, they are not maintaining a patrol presence within their assigned areas. Third, officers are only capable of stopping one vehicle at a time after a violation occurs. These issues spurred the development of the traffic enforcement camera system; also called red light cameras (RLC).

The intersection 6 (SR-210 Westbound Ramps/San Bernardino Avenue) in Table 6-2, southbound left onto San Bernardino Ave, a queue length of 164 for PM peak and 191 for Sat peak hours exceeds a left turn pocket of 100 ft. Verify all movements including intersections 5, 6, and 8.
Solution-2 It uses queuing theory and was generally considered as Unit process. In this approach appointments are scheduled at fixed regular intervals, and length of interval is decision variable and service times are a random variable. Cost based optimizations are used to reduce waiting costs and most of the waiting times in this method are direct waiting
An article in Executive Update stated “Policies, procedures, protocols and job descriptions create efficiency and eliminate some of the administrative stress” (Curd & Young, 2012). One of the ways efficiency reduces stress is by encouraging uniformity. Mustang currently lacks uniformity among the administrative assistants in field services. There are three separate groups that each have a small group of assistants assigned to them. All three groups have the same daily tasks; however, each group has different methods of completing the tasks and they all have different levels of output. Creating more uniform administrative procedures would increase productivity and effectiveness, yet some managers are opposed to changing the procedures for the assistants in their group and will require more research before making changes. This research will provide managers with information on how creating a more uniform work place can enhance efficiency and be more effective with the use of the company resources. This research will discuss the following: the current issues the administrators have in their daily process, the benefits of having uniform procedures, and how uniformity will create a more effective and efficient work place.
Parking on campus needs improving. Students entering the university are allowed to have a car on campus. With every new freshmen class entering parking posses a problem on campus. The campus is already limited in its parking on campus and since freshmen are allowed to have cars, the students before them are faced with the dilemma of how many new freshmen will be bringing a car to school.
There is no fixed staff but need to extend the opening hours, which needs labour-saving.
Moreover, they need new technology to help to reduce time of delivery, for example the pizza made in the store but can be cook in vehicles while delivery thus the customer will receive fresh pizza from oven as well as reduce delivery time. In addition, this is because the driver then to drive fast and broke the rules lead to accident. Hence, they need to improve on the diver safety and regulation, in order to make sure the company reputation is good so, that law suit case is not charge on them. If this happens it will cause a big loss.

While studying or even registering for a class presents a challenge to some college students, the greatest obstacle remains, going to class. Attending college is supposed to signify a new found freedom to make many important choices regarding education without high school mandatory attendance policies. However, students everywhere are coming to the staggering realization that college is not too different from high school. Teachers still take class roll and students are still expected to be at every class on time. What next, hall monitors in the hall? The time has come for action to be taken. Colleges must abolish mandatory student attendance policies for several reasons to be further discussed.
Time management is one of the most crucial factors to college success for every student in college. Firstly, while living on campus, time usually isn’t an issue to students because they live on school grounds. There are many advantages that come with time and one of them is getting to class on time. However, this is actually the opposite for commuters because getting to class on time is quite a struggle. They have to struggle to wake up earlier than usual in order to use the public transportation. Students living on campus also have more access to on-site facilities because they don’t have to worry about going home so there is no time limit on how long they occupy these areas. An example is staying in the library because this is where you can get help from tutors on subjects you are struggling with. Also, they can use the writing center for as long as it is open without worrying about time. In contrast, commuters are limited to the use of these facilities because they have to take time into consideration while staying at the library or work...
