Social-emotional development in young children includes the ability for children to form and sustain positive relationships. In addition, children need to be able to experience, manage and express emotions freely and more importantly is able to explore and engage with the environment. Children that exhibits healthy characteristics of social-emotional development should be able to articulate their feelings freely as well as feel confident about themselves in order to manage their feelings of frustration and disappointment. More importantly, children need to be able to display empathy towards others and can make or develop friendships easily as well as succeed in school. The goal is to ensure the programs and services are aligned to the needs of the school and are appropriate. These meetings will take place at four separate times and location involving parents and the community, students, teachers and staff, and then board of trustees separately to solicit inputs. The committee will draft concerns and inputs from all stakeholders and compile a list of five needed improvement areas that are consistent with the inputs from the four separate group panel meetings from all stakeholders. A survey will then created to all stakeholders to narrow down the focus to three smart goals that are appropriate and achievable within a time-bound period to evaluate effectiveness of the program services to ensure ongoing progress and improvement. In this manner, all stakeholders are included in the decision-making and thus there should be more support for the development of CARE center, Response to intervention protocols, and positive behavior intervention system should these programs are identified as meeting the goals of the district and the …show more content…

The inputs are to ensure that all students will succeed and their social-emotional needs will be supported. Once all three plans are created, the plans will shared to all stakeholders in formal meetings to solicit feedback for revision before the program services are put up for a vote to ratify programs implementation. The tree plans will detail the purpose, goals, and provide accountability that will task specific individuals to oversight program effectiveness that can be evaluated on a yearly basis to assess program impact. This will provide oversight into creating flexible norms that will allow all programs to be improved and sustained over the long run based on changes in students’ social-emotional developmental need as student population
