The Smarter Measure assessments help me focus on areas that need my attention. The assessment shows that my primary learning style is Aural. I use sound and music in my learning environment, music helps me focus. The Life Factor section shows that Skills is a major concern. I think the reason why this is a low score is due to the lack of confidence I have in me. I need to ask my academic advisors for more assistance in regards to tutoring, writing support and study groups. The Individual Attributes section shows that Procrastination is a problem. The district is now making all teachers use an assessment tool called iReady. It is a website that assesses students in math and reading. They are first tested on a kindergarten through fifth grade range to find out what they know. Then the program takes that score and determines the right level for the child and they are tested again on the level. Once all students have been assessed the program orders the students from highest to lowest and by average grade level skill they are on: early second grade, middle second grade, late second grade or any other grade. The teacher uses those scores to create her reading groups, math groups and the students she will give extra assistance to. They haven’t officially established how many times and when they will do this iReady assessment but for now they are doing it once a week for forty five minutes. The test also flags if they spent too long or too little time on a question. The ones that spent less than 15 seconds per problem are to go back and do the assessment again.
The Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment with a fun experience that provided very useful information about myself. The questions were interesting and thought provoking. However, the time limit on each question meant that most responses were my first instinct or gut response. I think the time limit keeps a person from over thinking the questions and makes them respond with an answer that is true to who they are. I agree with the five strongest areas identified in my assessment which were strategic, futuristic, learner, command, and ideation (Clifton, Anderson, & Schreiner, 2006)
In today’s world, there are many people who feel the pull of continuing their education by going to college. There are many factors that affect this process, and can either make or break a student’s attempt at academic success. Some of the factors are commonsensical, and others may not be as obvious – especially for returning students who have been out of school for a long period of time. For the PDSA cycle I am going to use individual journal entries because they are engaging and interactive to every student, and they are a great tool in reflecting on what each student has learned in the lesson. “Student-centered assessments must be engaging and interactive, while incorporating sharing, trusting, team building, reflecting, helping and coaching.”(Pitas, 2000) The students will be given the freedom to write anything that is on their mind and the students will answer three questions that will help generate well thought out answers. The students will write at the very least a paragraph for each day they are learning a lesson.

The first assessment I completed was very eye opening for me as a leader. As expected, my score for the overall potential of my leadership was on the higher end of the scale because of my background and amount of experience I have in leadership positions. This assessment portrayed a very accurate depiction of my overall leadership potential because I have always placed emphasis on being very good at what I do while working hard to not follow a path that did not work the first time.
Environmental and intellectual wellness were my highest ranked scores and my lowest ranked score was in the occupational domain. Through observing the other domains of wellness I believe that this makes perfect sense in relation to my lifestyle and myself as a whole. The highest scores are due to my interest and satisfaction in these areas. Both environmental and intellectual wellness had factors which I voluntarily partake in my daily life. The lowest ranked score is due to an overall lack of interest and comfort. My wellness scores do not come as a surprise to me and solely offer different viewpoints of what I think properly describes my current health.
I am pretty satisfied with it because I am extremely strong in purpose, communicating and taking notes with reading, motivation, time, money and diversity closely following. As for test, I will continue to work on it.
I found the results of my self-assessments to be a very insightful and accurate description of myself. The results of the learning styles test and the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II are very valuable for examining my personality traits and learning style and making improvements as needed.

This article presented interesting data on using dynamic assessment to diagnose bilingual children with language impairments. I leaned quite a few things from this article. One of the most important things I learned is that there is an overrepresentation of bilingual children in special education programs, specifically in elementary school. This is a problem that is likely a result of the standardized measures used to diagnose these children. I think that clinicians should be cautious when using standard measures, like the PLS-3, on bilingual children. This is important because we do not want to diagnose children with a language impairment simply because these measures are not appropriate for the bilingual population. Having learned this, I
Everyone has a different way of learning things; I like to think that I am a more visual learner. However, the smart measure assessment has brought to my attention that I may actually have multiple ways of learning. The assessment has actually informed me of a lot of my strengths in each section but the sections that caught my attention are Learning Styles, Reading Rate & Recall, Technical Competency, and Technical knowledge.

It also prompted them to create a graph using the results of survey for our field trip. As teachers, we have to monitor the progress our students make each day, week, quarter and year. Classroom assessments are one of the most crucial educational tools for teachers. When assessments are properly developed and interpreted, they can help teachers better understand their students learning progress and needs, by providing the resources to collect evidence that indicates what information their students know and what skills they can perform. Assessments help teachers to not only identify and monitor learners’ strengths, weaknesses, learning and progress but also help them to better plan and conduct instruction. For these reasons, ongoing classroom assessment is the glue that binds teaching and learning together and allows educators to monitor their efficacy and student learning.
