Skills Required for Employment of Graduates
Graduating with a degree is an important milestone in life to move to the next level of employment or the dream job. To be hired by top employers in the relevant field of education or desired field is a dream for everyone, which should be the outcome of the years of hard work put forth. It is important to possess other skills in addition to the subject knowledge, such as communication, leadership, critical thinking, teamwork and technical skills are some of the most valued skills by employers in graduates (Adams, 2015a).
Top 3 Skills Required in Graduates
Achieving academic grades is important and helps with the shortlisting for the job interview. There are additional skills needed starting from applying for a job and to get promoted to the next level in the job. Adams (2015b) noted the below table of skills rated as essential by 160 employers participated in the survey conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). Critical thinking, good communication and leadership skills are some of the essential skills desired in graduates for employment.
