I am currently a Production Planner at Production Resource Group, LLC. In this role, I am responsible for maintaining the planning operations for PRG Dallas. I enter assembly sales orders to drive purchase requirements based on production schedule and PRG produced items to fulfill Service/Maintenance sales order requests. I also coordinate with the Production Manager to make sure production schedules align with how fast the production floor can build the needed items. For example, if a customer places an order for 300 Best Boy Lights, I will first meet with the Production Manger to see how many lights the production assemblers can build in a day. The total number of lights the assemblers can build in

The potential competitors I will encounter on my way to achieve my goals are individuals seeking the same job as me, those with direct production management experience, and individuals with similar educational backgrounds and work experience as myself. My biggest competition is the individuals that have the direct experience and background as a production control manager. They are my biggest competitors because they have the necessary tools needed to get the job and American Airlines will be able to verify their work ethics from their prior employers. Furthermore, these individuals are more familiar with the kind of work American Airlines is seeking and they may have the capacity to catch on quicker than the individual with no experience. My peers are also competition. They are campaigning and pushing for the job generally as hard as I …show more content…
I work well with a team or independently which allows me to work and collaborate with a diverse group of individuals. Not only that, I am organized, demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving, and multitasking skills. These skills are important to have for the Production Control Manager position.
I can offer American Airlines a person that is loyal, committed to hard work, dedicated and is willing to go well beyond my responsibilities to achieve the goals and tasks at hand. I am committed to not only doing my job effectively but efficiently as well. I look forward to helping others when needed. I was always told, “teamwork makes the dream work” and by positively collaborating with others, goals can be achieved. Pricing
My theory on pay is that a person's salary should be reasonable and just. I understand my value, and the worth that I can bring to an organization like American Airlines. Since I am seeking a mid-level position, it's only fair that I accept the required pay for that position level. However, as I develop with the organization, I expect for my level and nature of work to reflect what I am being compensated.
Six flags is a company that has 29 theme parks with a Chief Corporate Engineer, Larry Chickola. Larry overseas all the projects for the parks and has teams of engineers that help take care of technical issues and building and construction. All six flags projects have a comprehensive plan for completing the work in a timely fashion. They have written statements as to what work is to be done and dated schedules for completion. They also have to include tasks and sub tasks all being figured into the budget. There is a “work package,” which is a group of activities assigned to break down each task and sub task to fit these into manageable quotas. They feel this is the key to managing logistics.
Southwest Airlines is one of the most successful airlines in the United States. There has never been layoffs or strikes in the history of the company, although there were several times when layoffs could have been justified, including the months following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. However, Southwest's Mission statement says “Above all, Employees will be provided the same concern, respect, and caring attitude within the organization that they are expected to share externally with every Southwest Customer.” (Southwest, 1988). The Airline has always believed that their corporate culture is one of the keys to their success. The culture recognizes that employees have emotional intelligence and that their attitudes and morale are key to the teamwork and creative environment.
“Our people are our single greatest strength and most enduring long-term competitive advantage,” reports CEO Gary Kelly on the Southwest Airline website (https://www.southwest.com/html/about-southwest). The company works hard to hire great individuals and then rewards and supports them to make satisfied, productive employees (Ross & Beath, 2007). In fact, Southwest Airlines has received repeated recognition as a great place to work (“Southwest Corporate Fact Sheet,” n.d.). As a result, Southwest Airlines is able to provide a low-cost, fun-cultured experience with excellent customer service (Ross & Beath, 2007). This has allowed the company to build its final strength in this evaluation: a strong brand
I believe I have many skills and talents that I can contribute to N.H.S. I’m level-headed and cool under pressure so in times of havoc, I’ll be there to calm people down and not go crazy. Also I’m a team player which is very important. Some people like to do things solo, but N.H.S is an organization where you have to work together to help accomplish the goals. Also I’m very hard working and dedicated so I won’t give up. There are people who give up when an obstacle they can’t pass comes their way, however I’ll keep trying until I beat it. Personally I’m good at problem solving, innovative, and versatile. If I know what to do then I'll get the job
If the short haul passenger was the backbone of Southwest Airlines success, then their 737s were the lifelines that supported it. By choosing the 737 as the airplane for all of Southwest's flights, the company saved time and resources in training its employees. The crew could be easily substituted for one another due to the extensive training on the 737. Low costs and, therefore, low fares are an enormous competitive advantage, when combined with their high-quality and loyal workforce. A very unique culture was found at Southwest Airlines among all of its employees.
Production teams are teams that run things and will be long-term groups that are tasked with a constant goal. Members of this team must have a long-term relationship, a solid foundation of operations, and external support to maintain a high-level of performance over a long period (Schermerhorn et al., 2005, Chapter 10). This type of team is affected by a daily requirement for high output and efficiency.
The promotion of employees from within is a fact and testament of their successful development and training program. Southwest Airlines has a program designed to strategically developed managers in an intensive Manager-in-Training program that prepares them for the next level. The university is the umbrella for training and development for Southwest since 9/11 which has focused on enhancing its curriculum to help employees achieve their goals. Southwest Airlines provides a Career Development Group that helps employees focus on personal and career growth. This is accomplished by working on a component that will align the employee’s personal development needs and strengths so they can grow more. It also encompasses a skills assessment that’s structured toward helping employees align their degree to a specific job within the company. As stated before, Southwest’s purpose is designed to encourage employee fulfillment and by their Career Development services help them become more fulfilled in their jobs. According to their philosophy, Southwest Airlines hires for attitude and trains for skills. This is why they have become a company with high retention rates. Southwest Airlines is voted “the best place to work” for a simple reason. The company invests in their employees and are committed to their values and

According to Williams, 2014, “when companies look for employees who would be good managers, they look for individuals who have technical skills, human skills, conceptual skills and the motivation to manage,” (Williams, p. 14).

In order to understand both, the aspects and complexities regarding Situational Theory of Publics, one must first understand the theory in itself. Situational Theory considers a public as a, “section of the community having a particular interest or connection” (Oxford, 2016). This theory locates and identifies publics by a given genre, the genre being that particular interest or connection. Each public is a group or audience of people with the potential to recognize an organization and its current situation or goal(s). Additionally, Situational Theory helps to identify trends within various publics which allow for strategic communications practitioners to make predictions more accurately.
Deductive reasoning is general information people have and use to reach to some type of conclusion. Deductive is done by understanding the first part which is using logic to reach a conclusion which reasoning is to understand what is going on. Justin’s speech quickly grabbed my attention because he too had the same dream like me where he came to the University of Oklahoma and hoped that one day he would become an airline pilot; however, he still found happiness in the aviation world by being an operations manager and that’s certainly not an area I’ve considered about working for. I found that Justin’s job was way more complicated than I thought it was because I thought as an operations manager you just had to handle small parts of the airport. Instead, he handles literally every part of the airport from the gates, which aircraft is in services and which ones are in repair, handling delays, and even helping employees load up cargo and luggage on and off the aircraft. After hearing everything that he does, I thought to myself “I would never want to do his job”, but I surprised to hear that he absolutely loved his job as operations manager. Considering the fact that he got a job with Southwest Airlines I knew that they loved to have fun with their employees, yet one thing he said was that it wasn’t just about having fun with the employees, but also with the passengers. As Justin would go on to explain the
