In addition, the organization has been designated by AARP as a Best Place to Work for Employees over fifty. I learned in ADM-315 Diversity in the Workplace, “attracting and retaining the best people as employees requires that organizations meet potential employees’ needs, show respect for them as individuals, and use multicultural skills in working with them” (Carr-Ruffino, 2009).
LCEC is a great company. We truly do offer great service to our customers. The relationship with my supervisor has been like no other, you can see the dedication. I learned in class ADM-303Administrative Theory & Practice a leader inspires dedication by example, doing whatever it takes to complete the next step toward the vision. By setting an example, leaders can demonstrate that there aren’t any nine-to-five jobs on the team.
I work in the Finance and Accounting Department as a Senior Customer Accounting Representative. When my co-worker retired after thirty five years, her responsibilities were handed over to me. There are areas of the job that need improvements. This made me think of class ADM-325 Compensation and Benefits, “How people are paid affects their behaviors at work, which affect an organization’s success” (Milkovich, Newman, & Gerhart, 2014).
The one process that particular caught me by surprise was, Abandoned Property. I thought about all the steps and what could be improved in the flow of this process, based on what I learned in ADM 412 Quality and Productivity class. "Process improvement" means making things better, not just managing crises. It is a way of looking at how we can do our work better.

Within business organizations, aging is something that is inevitable and unique to all people. Business practices need to be in the best interest of an organization, which is also inclusive to the employees, stakeholders, and customers in which they rely on and cater to. Best business practices, both directed and implied (regardless of the location) dictates that businesses follow and adhere to federal, state, city, and other local policies. However we needn’t look too far to see the multiple lawsuits that show continued and practiced bias and prejudice. One such incident involving discriminatory practices involving ageism that will be discussed within this discussion will revolve around a Texas Roadhouse restaurant based in Palm Bay, Florida.
Process philosophy is known as the idea that everything is changing. Over the years, process philosophy has changed the way humans exist and go about their day to day lives. In order to fully grasp the concept of process philosophy we will first take a closer look at process philosophy, as a whole, its history, and the ideas behind this particular philosophy. Then we will discuss the effects process philosophy has had on marriage and family, followed by a brief commentary.
...ate its employees’ attitudes and their work with colleagues. This should be incorporated into their assessments and reviews, and any issues that are identified should be addressed promptly when delaing with their perfomance in their assessment. Such issues include an employee who only delegates work to specific individuals based on their race or an employee who disregards ideas from certain work colleagues due to their age. However, a manager who identifies diversity-related issues should not adopt a confrontational approach when discussing the issues with an employee. A good approach would be to encourage the employee to work with colleagues from different generations and backgrounds. The initiation of such interactions will encourage the employee to learn more about their objectives, talents, and communication styles and how they compare or contrast to their own.

AARP, a nonprofit organization has well over 35 million members by promoting values for people over the age of 50 years. They were marketing based off researching the member’s needs, wants, and values. Also, to meet the baby boomers’ needs and wants, AARP evaluated online media based off researching the marketplace. AARP has a competitive advantage by offering insurance plans and discounts on other products and services. They built a positive image based off their reputation of "the
Diversity is a changing constant that is brought about by “race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, social class, disabilities, culture and cultural characteristics”. The recent issues between older and millennial employees throughout the department are due to these changing constants accompanied with changes in “global labor demographics”. Although focus can be placed on arising issues between older employees and millennial employees, a greater efforts should be placed on achieving cultural competency. Building a foundation for cultural competency for employees within the department will not only benefit the employee but also benefit the individuals we serve. Formulation of this foundation will transition if not help guide other departments within the organization as similar issues arise.

Employee compensation and reward systems have undergone a couple of paradigm shifts since inception. Reward systems were traditionally compensation based and focused on the individual or the position (Beam 1995). After a recession in the early 1980's, employers turned to performance based models in an attempt to save money while still rewarding top performers (Applebaum & Shapiro, 1992). Today, the most successful organizations are using a total reward model, a hybrid of the performance based model combined with strategic human resource management planning to create reward systems that both benefit the employee and help organizations realize their operational goals (Chen & Hsieh, 2006).
In past few years, companies and industries of various sizes have become aware that they need to improve business processes such as product development, order fulfilment, planning, distribution, and customer service. So everybody is now focusing on doing process improvement or redesigning.
In large organisation, competition is not only in the market for goods and services but also for the quality of employees. As such, a large organization can only become attractive to the most skilled and high quality workers if it has an effective compensation and benefit plan. The key purpose of an effective compensation and benefit system is to provide employees with the right rewards for their work and right behavior in the workplace. Typically, organizational success is determined by the quality of employees an organization has. In turn, the organization can only attract such quality workers and maintain them through effective compensation and benefit
Workplace diversity has become a growing concern within organizations. Managers are now challenged with learning new ways to effectively communicate the importance of embracing different races and ethnicities. Diversity encompasses many different characteristics including age, gender, ethnicity, religion and disabilities (Robbins). As of late, age has become more of a concern as the baby boomer generation begins to reach retirement age; many are not retiring early but instead are working well into their seventies. Unfortunately for those baby boomers, the number of retirees decreased during the 2008-2009 recession mostly due to economic struggle. People cannot afford to retire, perhaps because they did not save enough for retirement or had to dip into their retirement fund to survive earlier in life. In addition to age discrimination, gender discrimination is another common diversity issue. According to “Organizational Behavior,” as of 2000, more women are working full time, have more education, and have started to close the earning gap between men and women (Robbins). Most commonly, women are targeted in the workplace fo...
Organizations are working hard in today’s world of business, not only to remain competitive, but also to focus on stability and structure. Employees are the backbone of an organization. It is becoming more important to offer quality HRM programs to staff, in order to support the retention of trained and experienced staff. Employees have always been concerned with salary however, there is a new focus emerging that looks at compensation as a whole entity. Monetary wages are now just as important as other benefits such as paid time off, medical and dental offerings and retirement. This paper will discuss the importance of the total compensation program which includes many aspects, not just salary. Attention must be paid to equal pay, pay
As we all know over the past few years there has been a rapid change in technology due to technological advancements and so a variety of different processes have since been introduced in organizations to help quality improvement, speed, efficiency and better service to customers. Much emphasis today is placed heavily on quality but still, a lot of businesses are not quite able to properly achieve and keep up with these quality systems. The systems which include process management tend to die or be neglected due to the fact that most of these managers do not have the necessary resources, knowledge and time to help work on improving these systems. In the situation where managers may go on to misapply process management, it will obviously start hindering the company and dull their innovation to some extent but not entirely discourage it. So I would say that it is always necessary to have proper applications for these processes. Companies need to create an environment that both enables and encourages the process of innovation. I believe that process management has to be considered as the primary source of innovation. In many businesses, innovation has become an important aspect for high performing organizations and in order for these companies to ensure that innovation sticks around, in the long run; they have to make innovation a part of their day to day business. Process management is a key driving source of innovation. Companies need to go beyond and continue to create new ways of working and thinking. Overall, the whole idea of process management is to improve effectiveness and efficiency. It helps do the right thing, at a faster and cheaper
