Winston Churchill vs. Adolf Hitler
There are many famous people from the past that most people still know of today. Two of those people are Winston Churchill and Adolf Hitler. These two men are similar in the fact that they were both very strong leaders of great countries. They also shared a toughness that both are still remembered for today. They did not change their message based on who they were talking to. They said what they believed and did what they said. However, one was for himself, while one was for the freedom of his people.
Hitler believed that he knew what was best for Germany and set up his government to reflect his beliefs and his desires for the county. He believed that he and his race was superior to the rest of the world.(pg.550) …show more content…

He would do anything to anybody to get his way. He governed through intimidation. If you were not for him, you were against him and he would do anything to take out his enemies whether they were from his country or a competing nation.(Biography.com) On the other hand, Churchill was tough within his own government. He treated his people well but kept order and earned their respect.
Hitler had one simple goal, to take over the world. He wanted to rule the world. He believed that the German people were superior to all others in the world and he was determined to lead them. He set out to conquer other nations one at a time. As England became the nation next on Hitler’s list, Churchill had one major goal, stop Hitler at all cost. Churchill strengthen his military, formed alliances with other countries, and then finally persuaded the United States to join in the fight.(pg.582)
Both men had some great qualities. Part of being a great leader is knowing your enemy. The men were similar in the fact that they knew each other’s strengths and weaknesses and how to exploit them. However, it was Churchill who had good on his side. He was able to rally his troops to fight for their country and their freedom. Hitler ultimately failed when his own people began to doubt and reject him as they realized he was only in the fight for himself.
