My World Came To a Long Pause It is quite amazing how many things we take for granted each and every day. We take people, things and time for granted more than we actually think we do. We wake up in the morning, we do our daily routines from going to take that morning pee, drinking coffee and getting ready for work, but what happens if you didn’t get to wake up the next morning to do that. What if your loved ones didn’t wake up like we are used to? No one truly thinks about how such a tragedy could affect them by a simple change in a daily routine. I was faced with the biggest shock of my life on the evening of October 13th 2001. My hero, my first love, my body guard my daddy was taken away from me in a blink of an eye. This event had changed my life dramatically, not just for a short time, but for the rest of my life. I’ve learned to never take the time, things or most importantly, don’t take your loved ones for granted. I woke up on a normal fall Saturday in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky in a town called Harlan County. Just coming home to my mother’s home from my father’s house the night before. We stayed the night that night with my grandparents staying up till so late or I may have just thought It was so late because I was young and 9:30 was late for me. We would sneak out of the bedroom we slept in the kitchen to get pudding in a cup, he would get chocolate and I would get vanilla and we would mix it together.
