Have you seen the red-haired girl, with a contagious laugh, and a permanent smile on her face as if it were painted? Well of course you have, her name is Sharon Shenderovskiy . Sharon is the newest edition to the Manta Ray Family. Like many freshmen on the first day of school, Sharon was excited, scared, and tired. She had thoughts such as, “Who will I sit with during classes?, Did I do the summer reading assignments?, Where are my classes?, and Who will I sit with at lunch?”. Sharon's passion for science made her all the more anxious for her chemistry and marine science classes. Sharon is especially excited to learn about chemical compounds and chemical equations in chemistry. Despite this, the first day of school wasn't one for the books as she knew very few people and was lonely. As the days went on, Sharon’s bubbly personality helped her make plenty of friends like Zayna and Rondajai. "Sharon is so nice and easy to talk, her laugh can make everyone in the room smile," Zayna stated. In every class, Sharon is making jokes and laughing in the back of the class with her friends. It's amazing how long lasting friendships are made with a hello. "Friendships are discovered rather than made"- Harriet Beecher Stowe Sharon …show more content…
was born in New York on June 25, 2001 and was raised in Miami, Florida. Now for the million dollar question which is, "Where did Sharon inherit her red hair from?". Sharon inherited her distinctive red hair from her great aunt and great grandpa. Her freckles came from her mother. This trait skipped a generation however, and left her four year old brother Jonathan, blonde. "Jonathan is funny, and he does karate but he isn't that good and that's okay because he is cute" Sharon said beaming. Sharon is a very family orientated person. One of Sharon's fondest family vacation was when she went to Quebec, Canada. Her favorite memory of Canada was the light shows on parliament. Sharon also found the trip to be a different experience because everyone spoke French. Before Sharon was a Manta Ray she was an Eagle at Aventura Charter School or better known as ACES. " Well since I was with the same people for 9 years we were all pretty close and ACES was pretty advanced and we had a lot of work so it really prepared me for high school," Sharon gushed. "To describe ACES I would say it's a close community between the teacher and students and the school likes to give back to the community," Sharon Shenderovskiy Just like ACES, Sharon Shenderovskiy likes to give back to the community any way she can.
In fact, she was given the nickname, "Sharebear," by her fellow peers. Last year Sharon and her best friend participated in a Miami Rescue Mission. Sharon said, "We hosted a clothing drive called, "My Old, Your New," to give back to the community and show a sense of gratitude for everything we have". The fundraiser was a success and received three thousand articles of clothing which surpassed their goal of one thousand. The summer before her freshmen year she volunteered at a Miami-Dade Summer Camp. At the camp she interacted with the toddlers. Some activities Sharon did with the kids was playing soccer, helping them eat, and playing games with
them. As the summer ended Sharon was excited, scared, and had thoughts racing around in her head a hundred miles per hour. Sharon became a Manta Ray because she feels this school will help her to pursue a future in science. After high school she plans to go to the University of Central Florida to relieve her undergraduate degree and wants to go to an out of collage preferably Colombia University to receive her graduate degree. In the future sees herself as a ears, nose, and throat doctor. But for now Sharon's personal goal is to do the My Old, Your New clothing drive again and her goal is to receive more than three thousand articles of clothing and wants to do well in school. Sharon is already proving herself to be valuable Manta Ray.
“School can be a tremendously disorienting place… You’ll also be thrown in with all kind of kids from all kind of backgrounds, and that can be unsettling… You’ll see a handful of students far excel you in courses that sound exotic and that are only in the curriculum of the elite: French, physics, trigonometry. And all this is happening while you’re trying to shape an identity; your body is changing, and your emotions are running wild.” (Rose 28)

Yalow’s parents never went to high school, but that never stopped her from attending school (Germain et. al. 2012). Her high school chemistry teacher influenced her decision to head to college...
Jett is seven years old and he lives with his mom and brother in Baker Street. His parents have just divorced three days ago and his father moved to New York, America. He has never talked about it anyone. In fact, he doesn’t like talk anymore. Jett prefers to draw pictures than talk with others. He loves getting lost in his wonderful and colorful world of drawing.
As sweat dripped down my face and the sun burned my skin red, I felt the pressure of the situation. It was the championship game in a college showcase tournament. For the past 3 days, my team played countless hours of softball, beating every opponent. This tournament was not only a testament to the “best of the best”, but also, a personal vendetta. The other team is summed up as our cross town rivals; as both are based out of Sparta, NJ.
Have you ever had your heart ripped out of your chest cavity in your most vulnerable time and had it crushed by the weight of 1,000 suns? No? Well I have. And I’m not talking in the romantic sense, or that of a deep love for someone, I’m talking about the fiery fervor of fandom. Whether it’s fandom for a sports team, a band, or a television show, mostly everyone is a fan of something. Of all the things that i'm a fan of, my biggest fandom is for the San Antonio Spurs, the only professional sports team in San Antonio, Texas, where I was born and raised. The Spurs are a historically great franchise winning 60% of all of their games ever played, and winning five NBA championships. But it hasn't been all sunshine and rainbows for the Spurs, in fact quite recently there was a very dark period for the team, where a single shot leveled the morale of the team and an
What was your childhood made of? Can you taste it? Smell it? Because I can. The very essence of my childhood is distilled into a blue Skippy jar. My childhood is made of peanut butter.
“Angelina I beg of you, please eat the kibbles,” I plead to her as she lays restless with tired eyes and immense stubbornness on the rug closest to the door, refusing to be anywhere near cooperative.
I believe that I can fly. I believe that I can do anything, be anything and achieve anything. Why? Because I believe in myself. Too many people live their lives in accordance to the thoughts and actions of others, never able to self validate. How they feel about themselves, the love they give themselves, depends on the affirmation they receive from others. This is a sad way to live, we should respect ourselves enough to value our own opinions.
It was late December and the only person who was awake in the Lake family was Tom. Tom was an early riser and the latest he has ever slept in was about nine thirty and he slowly sat up when he woke up. All at once it registered, it was christmas. Tom was on his feet and was running to the living room to open the presents. Toms house is small for a family of four but it works. Tom's room was in the upstairs corner of the house and was the farthest away from the living room. He ran down the stairs thinking about all of the things that he would get. The one thing that he wanted the most was a new two wheeled red huffy bike. Even though he could not ride it but he wanted to be cool to say he had a two wheeled bike. When he got to the bottom of
Change. From the first breath inhaled to the last, we change hundreds, thousands, of millions of times throughout the entirety. These changes may not always be so obvious, whereas others are distinct. Change is inevitable, especially as the environment, technology, economy, and people develop. Us, human beings, are flexible, able to adapt and survive. However, as we adapt to these changes, we cannot let these changes compromise our beliefs and principles by which we abide and hold close to our hearts.
What was your favorite part of 2017? I had many ups and downs this year, but one of my favorite things was when we took a family trip out West. We went to so many fun places. I loved going whitewater river rafting in Cody, Wyoming. Horseback riding in Togwotee was so fun, and the mountains were beautiful. We drove for hours and hours in the car! Going out West was probably the highlight of my year.
Splash! The fish were jumping everywhere on the lake. We just arrived at my great grandparents cabin in Elcho, Wisconsin. We are on Post Lake with the glistening water and the splendid forest. That weekend we had the usually people up there grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, two cousins, and my family. This is our favorite place to go on the weekends or in the summer time with our family. It was in the middle of June and the fishing was amazing up there the fish were biting. It was approximately 4:30 when we started our fun weekend up north. I knew it was going to be great when I saw the six seater Can-Am in the driveway. The cabin is small and it is the color green it may be small but you can fit a bunch of people into it. There also the garage that has beds in it that fold out.
There is a lot of things in my life that I and other people in my family were treated unfairly, as well as we were not given an opportunity that we felt that we deserved. My family and I have suffered many times in our lives such as being unemployed due to jobs being cut off or medical problem, people acting rude to us, having to have been kicked out of house we rented before, not getting paid well at work, people around the neighborhood not doing my family or myself a favor because ‘they can’t at the moment’, and more than those.
My childhood started out with my grandparents. My mom had to work on the other side of the island so my grandma and grandpa were my temporary mom and dad for while. Living with my grandparents was a blast, I ventured through the forest with my grandpa, shopped for clothes with my grandma and attended routined meetings with both of them. There wasn't wifi at my grandparent's house at the time so on my spare time I liked to grab sticks from the storage house to give to my grandpa so he can make swords out of them, I loved to play with swords.
