Fishing
Splash! The fish were jumping everywhere on the lake. We just arrived at my great grandparents cabin in Elcho, Wisconsin. We are on Post Lake with the glistening water and the splendid forest. That weekend we had the usually people up there grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, two cousins, and my family. This is our favorite place to go on the weekends or in the summer time with our family. It was in the middle of June and the fishing was amazing up there the fish were biting. It was approximately 4:30 when we started our fun weekend up north. I knew it was going to be great when I saw the six seater Can-Am in the driveway. The cabin is small and it is the color green it may be small but you can fit a bunch of people into it. There also the garage that has beds in it that fold out.

That night we had a delicious supper in the cabin that is nice and cozy.
We had hamburgers, hot dogs, and at sides. After we sat out by the blazing hot camp fire with everybody playing music. The heat coming off of it was crazy it was like you were in the fire. At night we love to play music with campfire that's one of my favorite parts up north. We listen to old but good stuff on the speaker that connects to my grandpa's iPod. At about 10:00 p.m. we went inside and got ready for bed inside the nice warm cabin. There is no internet or barely any tv we only get two channels which I don’t even watch tv. I crawled into the covers and went into a nice warm and cozy
sleep. The next day I got up bright and early to eat breakfast which involves pancakes, sausage, eggs, hash browns, omelets and tons of other things. That morning we tried to go for some bluegill but they were not biting very well. So we came in and took the Can-Am down to Pollock Creek to go fishing. The lily pads were coming up very nice so I thought it would be perfect for fishing. Me and my cousin Jack casted out and caught a few bluegill so we left to go back to the cabin. We went down the road to the shed that is brown and white. The trees are glimmering in the sunlight and the breeze is just right. That night we went down to the mouth of the river to catch Crappie. It took awhile to get just the right spot I was with my great uncle Joe and his kids Jack and Paige. My grandpa was in the other boat with my family. Just at dark we got the first bite then after that one after another. The Crappies were practically jumping into the camouflage John boat. Both boats were hammering the Crappies and we even caught some bass there. We came in because the mosquitos were eating us alive we tried to put on our Deep Woods mosquito spray. My cousin asked “do you want to go fishing yet tonight of the dock.” I said “yes of course fishing at night is great.” We raced to the end of the dock to go fishing at about 9:00 p.m. we caught about 10 crappies in about 15 minutes. Then we went inside to go to bed. The next morning we packed up shop and just relaxed for a couple of hours. Then at about 12:00 we left for our two hour car ride to Seymour, WI where our home is. We stopped at our cabin which is in Langlade,WI we dropped some things off. After I took a peaceful walk in the woods to look at the scenery. I walked back my our food plot to look at the little watering hole that is there I tried to catch frogs. We packed up and left to go home for the new week.
On the way to camp Kangaroobie we went to Mr Mcguane’s farm. The year 5 bus broke down so we came late. When we got there, we walked around this little river skipping rocks and getting stuck in the mud. When we arrived at camp, went to our cabins, and I was with, Emily, Felicia, Sarah, Grace and Klara, we packed our bag and went for a walk down to the beach! It was really fun because we went across rivers and walked through the sand dunes! When we got there, we jumped off and slid down the sand
When we got on the other side of the lake we got the fishing poles, minnows and gas. We had to take the gas to put in the boat motor. It was a one mile walk to get to the other lake. When we got to the lake we put the fishing tackle in the boat and then we went and started fishing for lake trout. We had to put two hundred feet of string down with a minnow on it. We had the minnow on a hook called a cow bell, it had bright neon color beads on it so the fish were able to see it in that dark water. We each were allowed to catch and keep 3 fish. I caught 2, Luke caught 3, Grandpa caught 3 and Grandpa’s friend caught 3. Then we started back to the cabin to have the fish
this lake that was out in the middle of nowhere. We called this lake the back-
Next, I headed to Scorpion Ranch, and I set up my tent. Afterwards I watched the sunset from my tent and ate a pre-packed turkey sandwich. It was a very appealing sunset filled with pinks and oranges. I feel asleep to the sound of waves and the view of
It all started with a phone call from my great aunt, Aisha, telling my mother that they were going upstate for the day, and asking if I could come with. Since Mom and Dad happened to have the day off, they decided to make it a family affair. The drive up to Lake George was actually a ton of fun since all of us cousins sat in the back and played car games. When we finally got there, the adults checked into our hotel rooms and all the kids hit the pool. We all played
Well, all except my sister, who was laying in her bed trying to sleep. It was 9:33 P.M. We had had Shake’N Bake pork chops, homemade mashed potatoes, green beans, and rolls. It seemed like a good dinner, which it was, until what happened afterward. Since it was late December, it was very cold.
After our Adventure to get chicken nuggets we headed home. We talked and sang
When we got in the library it was freezing in there I got the chills and goosebumps that’s how cold it was, the older three got library cards and the younger three were playing on the computers they had there. I was being awkward and just read a book that wasn’t for interesting so I just searched for another book Heading Home and got it checked out from my sisters library card, for lunch we went to subway and then went back to the library and sat there for a few more hours and then left. When we got back to the apartment I was so grateful for the AC, but I had to get back in the heat because I walked with Macole to take Zeus out and I get how he can go outside with all that fur on him in like 90˚ weather like I would by sweating like someone would if they were standing by a volcano that just erupted. When we got in the house my sister told us to get our bathing suites on we were going swimming at Saylorville and when we got there we realized that we forgot sunscreen we were very smart when we realize it because we were already burned and the sunscreen was in the food cabinet like oh my
My counselor gave us big water jugs to carry to our campsite he warned us that they were very heavy before we walked to our campsite. Our walk was not that far when we got to our yurt we set our things down and claimed which bunk would be ours we each got two bunks to ourselves. Next, we went outside our yurt and were giving crew jobs to do. I was on Kitchen crew for the first night so I and the kitchen crew was busy cooking over the fire. After dinner and we cleaned up. My group decided we wanted to play hide and go seek. When we were there we had no idea at all what time it was so we all went to bed when we were tired. The next morning we went to the “ Barn” which has a rope climbing course it is very cool briefly, we all were tired and decided to go back to our yurt. The girls were talking inside their yurt. Us girls decided to try to fit everyone in the top bunk and get a picture we did that and one girl fell off the top bunk it was very exciting and fun. Soon it was dinner and we did the job that we were assigned to. We played games until we fell
The food was surprisingly delicious. Everyone ate their food quickly, so we weren't late. By seven thirty we all changed into our swimming suit and started heading to the car. First, stopped at a deli to pick up something to eat for when we were on the boat. Then, we left in a hurry so we could actually claim a boat to take out on the lake. At the dock, there was not one parking spot. It was so packed one of the workers had to move their car. After my father signed all the paperwork everyone entered the boat and we drove off. About ten minutes after being on the lake my father took out the tube. Alyssa and I went first to test the waters. Once everyone got a turn on the tube we stopped the boat so we could just swim around. I jumped right in forgetting about my life jacket, which was fine because I know how to swim, my younger sister, however, didn’t know
This included a canoe, fishing poles, and even four-wheelers to drive around. The first day consisted of us getting our camper set up and all the four-wheelers off the trailer. When we finally had some free time to relax, we all sat around a fire and ate some s'mores. Much of my relatives are talented singers and guitar players, therefore our campfires also consist of the whole family singing along to classic rock songs. That night I did not get much sleep, for I was up late watching Spirit and Bambi on our little box TV in the camper. Along with that, I woke up way too early to watch the sunset and go canoeing with my mom. I always thought morning time in the mountains was the most beautiful time of all. The air was crisp, and you could hear all the different birds chirp that I usually don't hear back home. For breakfast that morning we fried up some bacon, eggs and brewed some coffee. There is nothing I loved more than having bacon and coffee to start my day off. While the parents cleaned up, us kids went down to the lake looking for crawdads underneath rocks. I was always afraid that the crawdads would pinch me, but that didn't stop me from trying to catch them. My brother and dad were always the best at catching the crawdads and when we caught enough, we would cook them up and eat them. That I wasn't too fond about either. That same day my cousin thought it'd be funny to allow a crawdad to pinch his ear, it ended up just being funny for us because that crawdad would not come off and he would not stop crying. The rest of day we went on four-wheeler rides through the mountains. That may have been my favorite thing to do, I was able to see new things and smell new, fresh scents. I went through completely forested areas, to wide open grassy slopes, and even rocky parts that are hard to maneuver. One these drives I saw all sorts of animals
She hopped on the bed and laid next to me then I fell asleep. The next day we got up really early so we could go down to a lake nearby and paddle board. When we arrived, I immediately regretted not bringing sunscreen, it was boiling outside! We rented a paddle board for me, a two person kayak for my sister and mom, and a canoe for my aunt and uncle.
That night, we ate Japanese food with my godmother and caught up for all the years where we hadn’t seen each other. An almost unbelievable encounter with a stalker and the sun that nearly broiled us - the temperature that weighed in at a whopping 108 degrees Fahrenheit - I was lucky to have ended that night floating around in a pool.
The entire family got together and it was always a last minute thing but no matter what was going on we all decide we would go up to County Park Lake to have family time. There would be my grandma and my Aunts and Uncles and their kids when we pulled up to the parking lot. Under the shade trees the women would be sitting trying to stay cool and the older men of the family stand around a grill they would be sitting up the charcoal pyramid to lite to start grilling the food while the kids where at the tot lot playing the equipment you could hear the laughter of the kids playing . Also the mean talking about which is the best way to grill. The women would be laughing at the guys arguing over which way was bett...
As I finished eating, I heard the horn of my uncle’s car outside of my house, they seemed happy and ready to go. We all left at the same time, heading to my grandparent’s ranch. Once we get there, my cousins and I rushed to my grandfather’s fruit trees. He had apple trees, orange trees, lime trees, among others delicious fruits. As the time passed, lunch time came and everybody was called to eat. One of my uncles knows how to cook, and since he was in charge of the meat, he knew what to do to make it better. I remember the taste of that meat, it was delicious and everyone love
