Inventions in the Industrial Revolution/ Man Vs. Machine During the Industrial Revolution, inventions helped the lives of other people increase productivity and saved time. When people had to do all the work by hand, they took so much time just to do one thing and they did not get as much done. The inventions that people made, made working and doing things way easier to do. When people made things hand made they did not make many of their product because it took them such a long time just to make one thing so they did not really sell much. At a time when people had to make their own clothes at home or pay someone else to sew them by hand, Elias howe invents the sewing machine. (Industrial Revolution Timeline-Softschools). Since that clothes can be made in a larger factory and not in a home people lost their job because the other people did not need to go to them they could go to a factory. Howe’s sewing machine manufacturers gained popularity in Cambridge, then Boston and then around the country and the world. (www.cambridgehistory.org). Since the sewing machine got so popular that it went all around the world people could speed up the process of sewing by so much instead of doing it by hand. Since that the sewing machine was everywhere around the world people did not need things done by hand so people lost their jobs because people did not need them anymore.Elias Howe invents the sewing machine. Now that clothes and other things can be made in large factories it also sped up the time into making or fixing something. If someone tried to makes something by hand it would take them a long time to finish and they would not be able to sell that many things to because of this they lost their job because the larger factories can make and fix things faster then they can.
