The Industrial revolution was a turning point for the earth and humans, every aspect of human’s life and life styles were changed dramatically. It’s due to the revolution that we ca have so many types of clothing and we can easily talk to people in different countries. There has also become an increased wealth in the western world.
A growing population resulted in a greater demand for Great Britain. They were the first to start the Industrial revolution. With their invention of the steam engine transportation of goods and people boomed, railroad, canals, etc. which resulted in a new class system. Before people lived in small communities and their lives revolved around farming, but with the start of the revolution more people and laborers moved to the city which had become urban and industrialized. New banking techniques such as corporations, partnerships, credit, and stocks were invented. Everything used to be made in people’s homes using handmade tools, yet now everything is done in factories using mass production. The three major materials cotton, coal, and iron were the up and coming new products used during the industrial revolution. Cotton was used for the textile industry, coal for steam power, and iron for the new types of transportation. Most of the population was the working class and they worked in factories and mines and didn’t get a lot of pay. The Industrial Revolution was a time of great change and increased efficiency. No more would be goods be produced by sole means of farming and agriculture, but now by the use of machinery and factories. Technology was beginning to increase along with the food supply as well as the population. However, this increase in population would greatly impact the social aspect of that time. Urbanization was becoming much more widespread. Cities were becoming overwhelmingly crowded and there was an increase in disease as well as harsh child labor. Although child labor would be reduced somewhat due to unions, the Industrial Revolution still contained both it’s positive and negative results.
Western history has shown us how the paths of nations have been drastically changed as a result of revolutionary movements and regime changes. The events that have caused the most impact in American institutions are of course arguable however one revolution stands out as being the most influential catalyst for change. The industrial revolution not only changed life in Europe, but also greatly affected the political, economical, and social structure of America. Today I am going to be talking about an invention during the Industrial Revolution that changed the world and made it a little more brighter. Well this is all thanks to America’s leading businessman, Thomas Edison, who invented the first ever electric light bulb. Many of you may know who he is and what he invented. Well his invention helped illuminate whole cities and it changed lives during the Industrial Revolution because it had many great outcomes. It helped the pace of the city life quicken because now factories would be able to operate after dark. By the 1890s, cables carried electrical power from dynamos to factories.

One of the darker causes for the Industrial Revolution was the slave trade with overseas colonies at the time. For many merchants who saw the easy money to be made from the voyages, the merchants became extremely rich – and as it is in human nature – these rich merchants wanted to become even more rich, the seemingly best way to do this was to invest profits from the slave trade into the new factories that were arising, this is called “Commercial Revolution”. Britain was one of the few countries that was able to bring in profits from other countries and keep profits in their country, aiding them into being the first country to Revolutionise Industrially. The new invention of steam power was one of the great motives for the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, steam was used to power many of the machines, thus with the invention of steam power, the Industrial Revolution was powered onwards.
Out of all the revolutions through the ages, which would you think had the biggest impact on our life today? This is a question we never really ask ourself. There has been numerous revolutions and all different varieties. A dramatic revolution that comes to mind is the “Industrial revolution” it has changed all of our modern things we take for granted today. From smart-phones to washer machines of the Modern day. Back in say the 1900's people couldn't even dream of having, seeing how much they have change since then.
The modern world is extremely reliant on technology, whether it has to deal with smart phones, cars, or medicine. Without the Industrial Revolution, the present day would not be the same. The Industrial Revolution was a blessing for the middle class because production, healthcare, and transportation improved. Industrialization improved the lives for all groups of people in Europe because of the advancement of technology. Lifestyles began to improve due in part to the introduction of efficient machines rather than hand production. It was necessary for industrialization to occur in order for the large population to sustain.
All these causes were essential for the revolution to happen, but, from my point of view, some were more important than others. The most important was the new inventions and machinery at the time. People were discovering new inventions, including machinery that made factories work faster. For example, the flying shuttle made it possible to make cloth faster and the spinning Jenny, which was used to weave faster.
People needed faster and more reliable means of transporting the large number of products being produced from factories. Wooden sail boats became steam powered boiler ships made out of iron and steel that more effectively and reliably moved goods from one place to another while steam powered trains took the place of horses, carts, and wagons and made land travel swift and safe. Practical steam engines and new ways of travel had abrupt effects on employment, resulting in even more factories and mills, and centering even more on cities (“Industrial Revolution,” History.com). Communication improved as well, not just by people being able to travel from one place to the next more quickly. Telegraphs and eventually the telephone and radio resulted in handwritten letters no longer having to survive week long trips, but instead being relayed halfway around the globe in just minutes (Deane 72-74).

The Industrial Revolution was a huge turning point for the world. Everyday machines we see today were in their beginning stages from the 1700s to the 1900s. Normal villages quickly became large cities, and farms would be easily managed by newer methods of farming. There were also ideas on how the market should run, which led to the creation of capitalism and communism. During this time of creativity, popular figures such as Adam Smith and Karl Marx argued on what would be the most ideal type of market, new ideas spread, such as the change of Utilitarianism to Socialism, and innovation was skyrocketing and bringing more ideas as well as more profit.
