English II Block Scheduling or Seven Period Days? Late nights, piles of homework, carrying multiple text books around. This is what my sophomore year at Ray-Pec high school is like because of having seven period days. Seven periods a day can cause a lot of stress on students like me. I have been in both block schedule and seven period days, I would prefer block scheduling over seven period days. I’m not saying they have to change the whole school schedule but ask for the student’s opinion before they change the schedule. Having seven classes a day does not only affect the students, but teachers too. Seven classes a day means only 48 minutes for a teacher to get through a lesson and assign homework. These short class periods mean that the teacher must rush through their lesson plan; this makes it harder for student to comprehend what they are being told. I can say that having 48 minutes to learn something is not enough time for me. …show more content…

This means you could be up for 30 minutes to 2 hours a night. Having this much homework can really affect your grade if you play a sport and don’t have enough time to do all your homework. As a student having only one day to finish all the homework for all my classes can cause me stress knowing that I only have a few hours to write a paper, finish Geometry and Chemistry homework, and study for a test in World History. Forty eight minutes each class Wednesday-Friday and less than that on Monday and Tuesday. These shorter class periods are really affecting my learning. For example in my Geometry class we barley have enough time to do a warm-up, go over our homework, and learn something new. By having my Geometry short makes it very difficult to do my homework since I didn’t have time to ask the teacher for help because class was almost
