Based on the personality assessment I would be characterized as an introverted, sensing, feeling, judging personality. On a social level, ISFJs are characterized by their desire to serve others. In extreme cases the give- and -take relationships are deeply under satisfying to them. Like SJs, ISFJs are very much bound by prevailing social conventions, their form of service specializing in the local, personal and practical. ISFJs have few close friends, and extremely loyal to them. They’re ready to provide support of any kind at a moment’s notice. The older the friendship, the more it is valued. They also find themselves in the dilemma of not being able to hide or articulate distress, which is often a trait that is misunderstood by new acquaintances. …show more content…
In the social arena, I am very good at socializing with people one on one and in small groups because it creates a space for personalized interactions. Personalized interactions, makes the relationship bond stronger and more intimate. Large groups I feel overwhelmed by the simultaneous conversations going on and I am unsure how to start my own. I view myself as the loyal type of friend. I am the type of person who will (and has) woken up in the middle of the night to listen to people’s problem. On a personal level, my family plays a huge role in my life. They have a high priority in my life because they have supported me every step so my life so my willing ness to do stuff is very high. The thing I relate most with is the need to be needed. I like serving others and be of use to them because it makes me feel useful and helpful even if it is simple advice or a random act of kindness. On the business and work ethic route, I would consider myself to be a reliable coworker and get the job done. I tend to struggle with delegating task amongst people because I feel as if I am the only person who can do it right. That does not mean I have issues asking for help when help is needed. I understand my limitations and only have time to accomplish so many things. I do like to learn things that directly apply to my line of work. I find the waste water treatment lab this semester very interesting
The Myers-Briggs Type indicator is an instrument designed to measure the elements of Jungian personality theory and makes the theory of psychological type both understandable and highly practical by helping individuals identify their preferences in four areas. According to the MBTI, I have a moderate preference for Introversion, a clear preference for Sensing, a slight preference for Feeling, and a clear preference for Judging (ISFJ). In general, ISFJs are sympathetic, loyal, considerate, conscientious, and will go through any amount of trouble to help those in need (Hirsh&Kummerow,1989).
The Myers-Briggs Personality Test shows which of the sixteen personality types a person resembles the closest. The test revealed that I am an ISTJ. Within those categories, I am 28% introvert, 28% sensing, 25% thinking, and 62% judging. By examining each category separate, I will determine what each category says about me and give examples of how each one relates to my personal and work life.
My initial reaction to the personality test we took was surprising, I was surprised to see how much I had not changed since the last time I took the test. I took the same test last year, I took it in Future Focus the second trimester. Although it was only a year ago, many things can change in a year and the results could’ve changed from last year to this year. They didn’t so that’s good, well at least for me, its nice to know I'm consistent in my personality; most importantly it’s great to know that I haven’t had any outside influence that dramatically changed who I was. As any other man made thing, the personality description in my views is wrong in some areas. ISFJs as described by the article are very private about all their own personal feelings, thoughts, opinions, everything in general. I don’t keep all my emotions, problems, thoughts, or opinions to myself; I have a support group composed of my closest family, and friends. It would be very difficult to live that way, but I guess it is also in there for a reason. Overall the article was very accurate in their descriptio...
My results said that I have an ISFJ personality. My scores were introvert (56%), Sensing (31%), Feeling (16%), and Judging (44%). The assessment stated that ISFJs frequently find themselves in occupations that either involves a lot of dealings with other people and require thoroughness and persistence. They work in organizations of various sizes and industries, where as a rule they work with people. Very often ISFJs recognize their potential in healthcare (nurse, patient care, and medical services, as well as administrative jobs) and several community care organizations. I do agree with some of the Jung Typology Seal assessments. I agree with being an introvert since I am a person that is reserved and to myself half of the time, but, on the other hand, I do like to serve others. I do not agree that I am overworked. If I get to the point to where I feel overworked, I will go to my boss and discuss the matter, so that I can get help with my work before resulting in some of extent psychosomatic illnesses. I agree with the part about working best with a small group or one-on-one situation. I also agree with the traditional careers for ISFJs attitude that include: teaching, social work, most religious work, nursing, clerical and secretarial work of any kind, and some
They are able to neglect themselves and their own needs for the needs of others. They often take on more burdens than a general person can take. “ENFJs radiate authenticity, concern and altruism, unafraid to stand up and speak when they feel something needs to be said” (unknown, ENFJ PERSONALITY, 2015). They find it natural and easy to communicate with others. ENFJs in the Work Place ENFJs are intelligent, warm, idealistic, creative and social.
This paper researches the typical traits of the INTJ personality type according to the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator. Additionally, I will be discussing the opposite personality of INTJ, type ESFP. I will detail two past experiences where my INTJ personality posed problems. This paper will also explore strategies that may benefit the INTJ personality type, myself included.
To me, family is the most important thing in my life. They always encourage me to be the best I can be and nothing more. A quote that I think describes family to me is one by Alex Haley that states, “In every conceivable manner, the family is the link to our past, and bridge to our future.” Through the stories I hear from my mother and grandmother, I have a clear link to my families past and the generation of women that led to me. All the values these women held close to them throughout the years have led to the formation of myself and my values. Over the past three generations, the women in my family have overcome oppression. My mother, growing up in a time where women could never have aspirations to be CEO’s or politicians, somehow came out stronger. She saw what she didn’t want for her future, and jumped at the chance to start a new life in America. No single model of family life characterizes the American family, despite ideological beliefs to the contrary (Andersen). My family couldn’t be labeled an “Italian family” or an “American family.” We are a mix of the two cultures and ideologies, which is what makes us different. I am the first women in my mother’s family to be born and raised in America. My great grandmother had a complete different childhood and adolescence experience than I yet we still have a common cultural base. All her ideals were passed onto my grandmother, than all the down to me, a hundred years in the making to become who I am
I live at home with both of my parents, my second oldest brother, and occasionally my oldest brother and niece visit as well. I grew up with the concept from both of my parents that family is important, no matter what family always comes first. My father showed me this concept in many situations like working all across the country and having to stay away from home to provide. Or even before he had a family and immigrated to the United States so his future family could have a better life. Because of the concept that family comes from, my family is very important to me.
The most important network in my life is my family. I am married to a wonderful husband and have a one year old son. I would say the biggest support function they give to me would be emotional support. My husband and I give each other security, affection, motivation, commitment, and we are a always willing to resolve conflicts together which reduces stress. To me, my husband is the most important person in my life and the one that I most often come to in times of stress. My son is very important to me because he is completely dependent on my husband and I. This responsibility calls for my husband and I to completely care for him such as feeding, bathing, play and supervision as well as emotional care for him such as nurturing, showing affection, socializing, and teaching. I would say that my son is responsible for influencing what I do in my daily life which in turn deepens my emotions and love for him because he provides me with a sense of being
People who enjoy being reserved and don’t enjoy confrontation. These people tend to be kind and considerate and always thinking practical. While people with this personality type are introverted and tend to be quiet, they are keen observers and are focused on other people. Even though they are known to be quiet with standoffish behavior, ISFJs are usually full of compassion and care for others. While ISFJs are good at understanding the emotions, they often struggle to express their own feelings.
I would like to help people and share my passion with them. I truly believe that if people Another very important value in my life is my family. My family brings joy to my life; they are what make me strive to be a better person. They encourage me to reach for my dreams no matter how crazy they are. My family is very close to one another, we have our arguments but we will never stop being such a close family,
My family is who I have socialized most with since they were the first ever people I interacted with. Family has had a large influence over who I am today because they are the people who I learned almost everything from (primary socialization). The reason I have such high morals and values is because of my family. By observing and taking from their behavior I was able to form my own values through nurture. Although they taught me a lot of beneficial things that make me a better person, I have also learned from some of my family members bad habits. My uncle always smoked around the kids, including myself, when I was younger and I never liked the smell and now I associate that memory with cigarettes and it makes me not have any desire to smoke whatsoever. I also had another uncle who went to jail a lot for selling drugs and other related things, and since I definitely did not want to end up in jail I now make smart decisions, and associate myself with people who benefit me. On the whole my family has made me a nobler person by both their good and bad
person who I am. So what is a ISTJ personality type? “ISTJs are often called inspectors. They
With family I was able to learn numerous of the other core values which in return have made me a much better and more successful person than I would be without a loving and supportive family. They steer me away from wrong, and make sure everything I do has a positive outcome. Another very important core value to me is “Responsibility.” Although I did follow this core value, my family made sure that I was always responsible. With responsibility, I was able to get so much more accomplished. When I was younger, I was not as responsible as I am today. I started Boy Scouts as a young kid, and I wasn’t really responsible and I just treated it as an activity. I did not bother to work for the higher ranks nor follow what I was supposed to do. However, as I matured, this core value of responsibility began to show. It was evident what I had to do and I made sure that I completed everything without anyone reminding me or telling me to do something. With this core value, I eventually was able to earn the rank of Eagle Scout which has made a tremendous impact on my life. Responsibility also applied to my life in school. I made sure to be responsible and always make sure to write down and do the homework, even if it
Family is an extremely important relationship connection that should always be strong. Family will always be there to support you emotional and physical through any circumstances. I value my relationship with my family, they support me through my decisions and life goals in my life. I am definitely a family oriented person, family is my top priority. We come in as a family through
