"Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing" this often heard statement sometimes is overlooked especially with characteristics such as loyalty. Simple things like school pride can cause casualties and lead to manipulation that can't be justified by the doer.
School spirit can cause feuds with other schools leading to minor casualties ;my mom went to(North) Grand Prairie high school, after one of the football games my mom and her cheerleading squad was headed to their bus and before they got to their bus a student from a rival started shooting in the parking lot. Two kids had minor casualties and the shooter was arrested for his crime.
Although there wasn't any major casualties loyalty can cause people to be easily manipulated. Manipulation
a flaw in certain relationships makes the "victim" try hard to execute what the manipulator wants even though its wrong. Its a flaw that causes people to fake flattery to appeal to your better nature which happens in a lot of relationships, my friends aunt manipulated her and her sister to steal from her job when she took them to work with them. now they have a habit that they can no longer control because of their aunt. Although many people believe that manipulation doesn't justify ones actions since they are the ones enforcing it physically or verbally , I strongly disagree because manipulation is not caused by the "victim" it is caused by the manipulator and sometimes they feel they don't have a choice. Furthermore, disregarding actions and responsibilities can be justified through harsh manipulation and pride. These thoughts are not your own, someone is putting ideas in your head or you feel that in order o prove your pride is to act rash. Either way you must open your eyes and decide that you have a choice in life, think before you act.
One cannot help but think about how these principles can be utilized in one’s personal dealings. Loyalty, decency, and lifting up of your fellows are wonderful ideals to strive for in friendships, marriage, and in the rearing of children. It is difficult to think of any place in our lives that these ideals would NOT be applicable.
They have no team spirit at all, there are no teams or clubs because no one shows interest. Shelton Pryor was Paul’s best friend; he was more outgoing than Paul. He didn’t care what the consequences of his actions would he just wanted to have fun. Shelton was upset because of the facts that nobody cared about the school. He had the idea that if they got a student to run for president things would change.
Some students in School had big issues, like Doug Hann. Hann was a student from Brown University, and varsity football player at the University. He was living in the dorms at the University. He was expelled from the university for doing bulling to the black people. In October 18, 1990, Hann was screaming bad words towards the black people, he was celebrating his birthday and he was drunk. It was not the first time that Hann was caught saying inappropriate words to the people, 2 years before he was drunk at one bar and he curse scream words to a black people. So the president Gregorian from the University in January 25, 1991 affirmed the expelled decision by the Undergraduate Disciplinary Council. In my opinion,
One once said that there is no such thing as bad publicity, but maybe some schools disagree with this statement, and they take publicity more seriously than the welfare of their facility, staff, and students. A school with bad reputation is not going to receive many applicants, but is this a valid excuse for not protecting their students? I believe that if there is a disturbance like a student threatening someone or a shooting, schools should notify the police right away. Mary Hoeft, a professor of communication arts and French at the University of Wisconsin – Barron County, wrote Professors in the Crosshairs, an article about incidents that occurred at her school that should have involved the police. Hoeft spoke of a situation where a young female student raged down the ...
The most infamous and deadly act of violence to occur in a U.S. school were the events of April 20, 1999. In Littleton Colorado two teens went on a shooting and bombing spree that left 15 dead and 24 wounded before they shot and killed themselves. During the rampage, the two fired about 900 rounds of ammunition from two sawed off shotguns, a 9-mm semiautomatic carbine, and a semiautomatic handgun. Police also later found more than 30 bombs placed throughout the school (Brock, 2001).
one thing that we can learn is not to let our insecurities smother out flame.
It seems to go hand in hand that while people are being convinced that school murders are occurring more frequently, various types of school violence also seem to be rising. This is once again a myth. The United States Departments of Education and Justice distributed a survey to students both in 1989 and 1995. It was reported that the students only felt a .1% increase in the total level of victimization (Kappeler, 188). As a matter of fact, only one in ten public schools report any sort of violence at all (Kappeler, 189).
A school is characterized as "an organization for showing and learning". In any case, today 's instructive establishments incorporate discipline, brutality, and trouble making. When we get ourselves stuck to the TV as a result of another school shooting, clearly something should be done about roughness in schools. Sadly, the arrangement reasons makes more issues.
Bullying, often dismissed as a normal part of growing up, is a real problem in our nation's schools, according to the National School Safety Center. One out of every four schoolchildren endures taunting, teasing, pushing, and shoving daily from schoolyard bullies. More than 43 percent of middle- and high-school students avoid using school bathrooms for fear of being harassed or assaulted. Old-fashioned schoolyard hazing has escalated to instances of extortion, emotional terrorism, and kids toting guns to school. It is estimated that more than 90 percent of all incidents of school violence begin with verbal conflicts, w...
In the morning before school, picking out an outfit can be difficult. There are many questions to consider like; “Do I want to be different?”, “What will people think of this outfit?”, “Does this show who I am?” This can be very stressful, and cause complications when it comes to identifying yourself and making difficult decisions. Problems that come with individuality can easily be avoided and refocused with conformity. School uniforms positively impact of the learning environment by ensuring student safety, psychological growth, and academic performance.
On April 20, 1999 Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold opened fire on Columbine Highschool killing twelve fellow classmates and one teacher. School violence changes our youths morals. From bullying to peer pressure, youth are exposed to school violence everyday. What is school violence? School violence varies from accounts of “death, homicide, suicide, weapon related violence, in the US.” (c1) School violence can occur to and from school, while attending a school sponsored event, on a bus, or at an activity.
When there are less kids, there is a greater opportunity for kids to be involved. They can be in several sports, performing arts, or any group they desire. I was involved in volleyball, football managing, basketball, track, cheerleading, softball, choir, and student council. I was always busy with projects or practices “promotes an overall feeling of unity and social solidarity (Schaefer 2016:18). Activities and “sports serve as a safety value for other participants and spectators, who are allowed to shed tension and aggressive energy in a socially acceptable way” (Schaefer 2016:18). At big schools, not every kids has a chance to be involved and so they have to get their anger out some other way, which can lead to bad things. Since I have been involved in many activities and had ways to relieve my anger I do not need another way; therefore, I have not gotten into bad situations. I am satisfied that I haven’t missed out on an activity that I have wanted to do because of my school. Sadly, this does not happen in all schools. Many large schools do not give the students the same chances because there is more competition. At these schools, kids have to compete to be on an extracurricular team. They really have to specialize in the organization or else they do not have the opportunity to be a part of the activity. Many have to specialize in this extracurricular activity
Shootings and physical violence are only part of the problem in schools. More than twenty percent of students have encountered bullying whi...
School culture can be positive or negative depending upon the school circumstances. Positive school culture foster trust, collaboration and improvement while Negative school culture foster distrust, isolation and lack of change.
School community relationship is a mutual understanding through which the school and the community link with each other for the achievement of goals of the community and school too. School is a social organization functions properly on the effective interrelationship within it and with its associate communities. An issue in a school affects the community likewise to what happens in the community affects school. This implies that the community builds its schools likewise to the schools (Sidhu, 2007). Therefore, school relation with the community is mutually interdependence.
