The misrepresentation of Pit Bull breeds in the media has been reflected in American culture. As these dogs were incorporated into World War I propaganda, they were perceived as symbols of courage and strength, the archetype of American dog breeds5. When, in the 1920s and 1930s, American Staffordshire Terrier “Pete the Pup” starred in the comedy Our Gang, later known as The Little Rascals, Pit Bulls were considered “nanny dogs” and family-friendly pets7. When the media focused heavily on illegal dog fighting rings and gang culture in the 1970s and 1980s, Pit Bulls were called demonic and unpredictable. Through their many roles, they have shown versatility and resilience, and lately they have suffered greatly.
I have read two articles, in which they both talk about the same topic. They both talk about dogs and leadership. “Cesar's Way” is an article written by Cesar Millan, he is a well-known dog training expert, in his article he mainly talks about the proper training for dogs and their background. The second article that I read was “Pack of Lies” and it’s written by Mark Derr from The New York Times. Mark Derr has written two books about dogs.
... to take roaming dogs back to their owners, and gives them a lecture on the thoughtfulness of letting a dog run free. “Dogs are just as important to me as people” she once said. She rarely makes public appearances today, and almost all of them are for the Doris Day Animal League, an organization dedicated to control pet overpopulation. She also is a part owner of a hotel in Carmel, California. The hotel allows people to bring their pets to stay with them, it also keeps a scrapbook with pictures of happy four footed customers (“Kehoe 120”).
Now, I know that you are thinking that I am ungrateful, and I’m not! I simply want Mac to have a companion, Chloe and me to have a dog that we can play with, to reduce stress and bad behavior in the house, and for this last reason. According to www.doghealth.com, Children with pets tend to be more balanced and responsible as they mature. Should you have more than one child, having multiple dogs will give each child a special friend. They can learn to be responsible for their special canine friend which, in turn, gives them feelings of confidence and security. We all know that this does not apply to six-year-olds like Chloe, but I will share the responsibility with her if you so desire, to make her a better and more responsible person. I know that this is a lot of information to take in, so here are the basic
9.) Why You Should Avoid the big, chain pet store dog training programs: Because in most cases, the dog trainers you'll encounter have only 2 to 3 months experience, and have been recruited through a newspaper ad. Dog training is both an art and a science. There is no way that you can become a professional dog trainer without apprenticing with several experienced dog trainers, with varied backgrounds, over an acceptable period of time. Stay away from the large pet store dog training
It's not unusual to see a dog leading and assisting a blind person. You have probably seen a few of those trained dogs during the course of your life. But have you ever noticed a dog helping a deaf person? A hearing dog is just as important as another type of assistance dog, they alert their handler to important sounds, such as doorbells, smoke alarms, ringing telephones, alarm clocks, sirens, or a person calling their owners name. In 1979, there was an international conference for vets, they brought up the idea of hearing dogs for deaf people. A man named Bruce Fogle was at the conference and he was very interested in the idea of hearing dogs. When he got back home he wrote to the Royal National Institute for Deaf People and elaborated on the idea of hearing dogs. The RNID were very interested, but said they didn't have the money to further his ideas. However, eventually enough money was rounded up and the first training center was opened. The first training center was established at Chinnor in Oxfordshire, and the organization was officially launched in February 1982. Bruce Fogle ...

Having a dog can be a great experience for people who enjoy their company. These animals are usually friendly and active; they are intelligent and can develop a strong relationship with their owners based on love and care. However, having dogs is a big responsibility for the person who owns them, because they are animals, so they cannot support themselves. Dogs need someone who can feed them, give them love, and someone who can help them exercise. Moreover, these animals need big spaces in order to run and develop their muscles, so the owner has to know that he needs to take a walk with the dog several times a day.
Many people refer to these dogs as guide dogs, but there is another way to call a dog that leads, a service dog. They are very alike in ways that they both have to watch out closely to everything that’s going on around them. A service dog are hearing dogs, they are used for the deaf. Another type of service dog is a seizure alert dog, but these dogs are very uncommon to see. And these are the types of service dogs.

Call to Action: Challenge your audience to be a responsible pet consumer and not purchase dogs from pet stores or from the Internet. I encourage you to instead, adopt from their local animal shelter. At an animal shelter, you can find many amazing, healthy animals. If you do buy from a breeder, use extreme caution and ask to see the puppy’s parents. Also, please contact your congressional representative and encourage him or her to help pass the PUPS bill.
Training your dog is the most important part of canine companionship. A happy dog is one who has structure and boundaries. Dogs are pack animals, and as such, they need guidance in the behavior that you expect from them. If you don't follow through in this leadership role, then the dog will naturally feel as if it is his place to do so. A dog that understands that you are the leader will naturally be easier to train.
Dogs are wonderful creatures. They are loyal, dependable companions if given the opportunity. In recent years I have come to the opinion that we could learn something from these animals. We should also take a look at the manner in which they are being treated. Abandonment, irresponsible breeding, and neglect are only some of the ways that humans are failing the canine species.
To begin with, Greg Mahle has been protecting dogs near death for nine years. He transports them from the Deep South, to the Northeast. The president of the Humane Society of Central Louisiana, Keri Toth says, “Southern shelters are overwhelmed by strays because spaying and neutering are not common practice.” In the end, Greg is saving hundreds and thousands of lives ...
