I came home and finished high school at Juanita in Kirkland, WA. I then went on to Lake Washington Technical College and entered the Dental Assisting program with a friend. The program was absolutely amazing. You are able to get hands on learning with patients to prepare you for the real world. You were offered so much support from your teachers and everyone involved. All of us stuck together and got each other through it. I enjoyed the
High School is every Junior High students dream. It is a time in a student’s life where he/she receives a large amount of freedom as well as responsibility. Mom no longer accompanies the teenagers at the movies and one can even drive himself/herself there. Academics are important also because these grades determine if you are college bound material. But, are freedom and academics the only parts of a solid High School career? I myself believe that there is more to High School then freedom and academics. High School is also a time when young adults are entering into society as individuals. They are on their way to adulthood and their education during this time should stretch further than just an academic education. I attended a private high school known as "Brother Rice High School", where I received more than just an academic experience. When some people hear the word "Private" school they think of words such as: "Stuck up," "Rich," or "Snobby," but these are not accurate portrayals. One must look inside the doors of the school before making such negative connotations and if you did you would realize that this is not the case. Brother Rice High School is an academic institution that teaches young men academic fundamentals as well as Christian morals and social values.
Throughout our country’s great history, we have seen a number of great, effective leaders. With that said, it is no easy task to narrow down to a few, the qualities that made and make these men and women so incredibly talented. Great leadership is essential to the well being of any populace, and, undoubtedly, the United States has seen some of the greatest leaders of any country. The qualities that our greatest leaders demonstrate are those such as courage, whether in the face of danger or in the turmoil of the political arena; humility, the essential humbleness that encourages the trust of the people and assures you are a leader of sound judgment and respect; and, of course, passion, the driving force behind innovation, the ambition to
Students can learn a lot of information about an event from reading an informational text or biography about a person who lived during that time. An example of a book that I read was, What’s so Great About…? Davy Crockett. It is a great introduction on reading books about famous historical figures, so this book is ideal for elementary students. The book provides ample amount of background information on David Crockett. Some students may know who he is because his name is famous and there are many tall tales about him, but other may not know, so it is good to introduce the person first while teach in class then let the students read. The book starts off by giving the basic information about Crockett such as where he came from and how life was
This essay will explore the authors meaning of reflection, how various reflective styles can benefit the practitioners within their settings, and how important reflection is within Early Years Practice. According to Appleby (2010, p.10), reflection is a generic term which describes various behaviours involving feelings, and thinking about thoughts and experiences, in order to examine issues and develop, new understandings and insights. Reflection within practice allows the practitioner to develop a sense of awareness around their daily activities, and helps them to evaluate how they could evolve these activities further, if the given opportunity was to arise again. Similarly, keeping a reflective journal
I am an 11-year-old 6th grader and I go to Jefferson Houston, I go by the name Blane. I have gone to Patrick Henry for kindergarten and Samuel W. Tucker for 1st-5th grade. In Jefferson Houston there is a program called AVID, this is a program that helps and motivates young adults to go to colleges. This year, I took an AVID interview for next year, and I passed so I will be in AVID next year. My favorite time of the day is lunch and my favorite subject is math. When it comes to school my strength is math, I am in 7th Grade Honors Math. I have gotten the A/B honor roll and citizenship award for semester 1. My plans for a successful and happy future is, to attend Harvard or Yale for law school and become a defense attorney. The most difficult event that changed me, was going to Jefferson Houston instead of Hammond. All throughout 5th grade, I was planning to go to Hammond and stick with my friends. But then, in the summer my mom preferred for me to go to Jefferson Houston, I obviously did not want to,
I hope to either become a medical doctor or a physician assistant (PA). I am not sure what specialty I would like to go into. That is why I have tried to shadow as many medical professionals in different specialties as I can. UAMS is my first choice for both medical and PA school and I would love to work there too. If I become a pediatrician, then Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) would be my first choice.
My High School life has helped shape the way for my college experiences that I will face. My senior year in high school is not the same as many other high school students. I am taking many advanced classes to help me prepare for college. These classes help me better understand exactly how much harder I must work to succeed.
...my education at Concord University studying Elementary Education. After graduating with my Bachelors of Science in Education, I plan to get a job as a teacher in an elementary school. I believe that there is a need for compassionate and caring teachers in elementary schools. At such a young age, I believe that it is important for elementary students to have positive role models in their lives. I am very interested in pursuing my Masters Degree at some point, but my main goal is to get out into the school system as a teacher.
After graduation, I planned to relocate back to St. Louis, MO. Also, I planned to further my education, by getting my Master’s Degree at the University of Missouri St. Louis. After receiving my degree, I want to find a career in Child Welfare. In conclusion, I want to live happily ever after with a husband, a few kids, and an amazing career.
1. I encountered the most significant challenge when I moved to Canada in January, 2012. Before I came to Canada, my English grade was very good in China, thus, I thought living and studying in Canada would not be too difficult. However, I did not do well in the ESL evaluation at all, and I was placed in ESL 1 at my high school. Most of my classmates there spoke very little English, and they did not spend much time and effort on studying English. It was very difficult for me to study if I wanted to be their friends and at that time, they were the only friends I had in Canada. However, I expected much more effort from myself. I studied very hard and became the 2nd fastest ESL students ever to complete ESL 1 to 4 in my high school. Today, when I recall what I have accomplished, I think I learnt to trust myself and at the same, success in anything only comes from hard work.
Upon graduating from Concord College, I will attend graduate school and receive my Master’s degree in Education. I will be teaching at different places around the country, as I will be moving frequently. My future occupational plans include working with the Department of Defense school systems. I will use my educational background and my life experiences to enlighten and teach my students.
Writing a reflection and a summary of dozens of experiences is very challenging and demanding. I cannot count how many ups I had, yet I cannot deny the fact that I had some downs where I could transform them to ups. The year was full of challenges, excitement, fear and lessons. Each Wednesday I had mixed emotions. Every time I came to school I had the same fear and heartbreaks. In my reflection I am willing to compare between Adan at the beginning of the year and new Adan I became.
One of dream, is to enter the engineering field someday, because I for my love of subject that include math, Science, and Technology. Since a little kid, I've always been fascinated by, and driven to understand, the way things work by breaking them apart. I believe high school would get me ready to pursue engineering as my career by taking the right courses, finding the right fit, and having more experience. Having a dream is the first step of
Time flies so fast. Looking back, my high school is just like a movie, a lot of things happened. High School is four years of growing up and probably a time in your life where you go through the most changes. In high school you are able to discover yourself and find out who you are as a person. Each year is special and unique in their own way. My journey through high school was a tough one, especially because I decided to not only focus on academic work but also to invest quality time in extra curriculum activities. I wanted more than just academic excellence; I wanted to be a leader, I wanted to add value to every aspect of my life, I wanted a rounded education and not just mere schooling. My success story is what I will like to share with you; how I really made it and how this defines my personality. My journey in High School was scary, exciting, and successful.
