Creating an agenda of the strategic issues that face the organization is the core value of performing a strategic plan. The organization’s culture has a direct affect on what to consider as a critical issue or not. Therefore, any change in the organization will cause a change the organizational culture. So that, it is important to carefully do the external and internal environmental analysis to figure out the critical organizational issues. (Bryson 2011, 185-186)
The purpose of performing the strategic direction is to identify the set of strategic and operational issues that face the organization in order to sort them in terms of priority and find the way to solve them. (Bryson and Alston 2011, 137) Strategic direction provides context for more specific decisions about the organizational policies, strategies, and programs. Most important, it gives a background for decision-making about the distributions of resources.
In this step here, we will explain the critical issues and from where did they come from. Also, we will list the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges/threats in Brendel School environment and how did we reduce the critical issues to this number. Moreover, we will describe the selected critical issues and explain why they are picked up with high priority.

The list of the critical issues came from detailed study and analysis. First, we examined the organization’s history, mission, and operations and assessed how they have changed in time. ...can Brendel School do to increase the number of student enrolled in Brendel Elementary School? The State Fund Allowance will increase if the number of students enrolled in the school increased, because the amount of payment depends on how many students does the school have. Brendel School has to integrate good marketing strategy to spread its good reputation in the community and gain the parents trust to attract more students into the school.
However, Brendel School has a good relationship with Flint Journal and the principal is spending more effort in dealing with Media Company trying to introduce Brendel School in more positive way to the public. Helping the school to attract more students requires more careful planning especially in this time span while most of the surrounding schools in the area are having competitive numbers of students enrolled every year.
It is important to have some information about the organization that the strategic planning will cover. This section of the strategic plan gives a rapid review of the organization in order to understand the circumstances that the organization is performing in.
After analyzing the Coastal Medical Center, it is apparent that the employees and staff have no conception of the mission, vision, and values of this health care facility. In addition to this lack of structure, CMC has many projects in the midst of production that lack support of a common goal, employees are unsatisfied with their jobs, the two boards lack ability to agree on strategic decisions for the organization,, and the medical center has a dismal reputation when it comes to quality care.
A flurry of solutions has been suggested, ranging from school uniforms to government grants. Unfortunately, many of these solutions are merely superficial. Uniforms, Internet access, and new buildings will do little to help overcrowded classrooms, overworked teachers, and disinterested students. The school is a popular non-denominational 11-18 Comprehensive High School for girls, with some boys in the Sixth Form. There are approximately 1670 students on roll with the Sixth Form making up 370 of this number. The school, formerly on three sites in a leafy, middle class suburb, has occupied a new single site PFI funded building on the outskirts of Wallasey since 2003. The change in location means that the school now serves a more diverse socio-economic catchment area, including Birkenhead North. The new nature of the student intake reflects this. The school now has a higher than average numbers of girls who are entitled to free school meals. The majority of students are White British but the school also has students with English as an additional language. As a comprehensive, the school caters well for students with learning difficulties and physical disabilities and even though the proportion of students with identified learning difficulties is the same as those found nationally the school currently has fewer students with SEN statements than in previous years.

Strategic planning is used to transform and revitalize organizations. The plan helps provide an inclusive understanding of opportunities and challenges both internally and externally for the organization. The plan delivers an assessment of the strengths and limitations that are realistic within the company. A well-developed strategic plan will offer a comprehensive approach and empowerment for the stakeholders involved. It is an opportunity for learning and understanding priorities that will drive the business to succeed. Jones (2010), describes how in health care organizations, strategic plans characteristically concentrate on operational and organizational goals such as when to obtain new technology, how to meet competitive challenges, and what staffing, tools, or facilities are needed to ensure organizational survival. The mission and value statements are significant in determining the quality of a strategic initiative. Forcing the organization to look toward the future creates proactive objectives in which both short-term and long-terms plans and goals are necessary in order to succeed.
Everyday students attend school, but not every single student attends the same type of school nor do they receive the same type of education. This thought may be very concerning to some, but for others, this is all too much a reality. For example, some may ask how is it possible that students in public schools that are located within the same state somehow receive a different education; the answer is simple. The concept of quality is a factor that can hinder or facilitate anything, especially ones education. The difference between a public school education in a particular town compared to another is its demographic. Strategic management serves as the competitive edge for the entire management process. It effectively blends strategic planning, implementation, and control. Organizations that are guided by a coherent strategic framework tend to execute even the smallest details of their mission in a coordinated fashion. The strategic management process includes the formulation of a strategy/strategic plans, implementation of the strategy, and strategic control. A clear statement of the organizational mission serves as the focal point for the entire planning process. People inside and outside the organization are given a general idea of why the organization exists and where it is headed. Working from the mission statement, management formulates the organization's strategy, a general explanation of how the organization's mission is to be accomplished. Then general intentions are translated into more concrete and measurable plans, policies, and budget allocations. Implementation is the most important part of the strategy. Strategic plans must be filtered down to lower levels to be success. Strategic plans can go astray, but a formal control system helps keep strategic plans on track. In the strategic management process general managers who adopt a strategic management perspective appreciate that strategic plans require updating and fine-tuning as conditions change. Environment is another significant factor that affects the strategic plan. When a major environmental disaster occurs, such as a hurricane, it can affect a company’s production facilities, their sales facilities and the community that the company serves.

In the upcoming paragraphs I will briefly discuss the impact of these external factors. Thus, we will address some of the many internal factors.
