In the play, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, there are plenty of unique characters. One of the most unique but underrated character was the Nurse. What makes her the most unique compared to the other characters? It is the fact that she can carry a traits that are good with others that are the complete opposite of each other. This is where the Nurse changes her usual traits and becomes selfish and careless towards others feelings. She is aware of Juliet’s feelings in regard to Romeo, but still chooses her feelings over the romantic heroine. She’s demonstrating careless and selfish acts because she wants to see Juliet with a Lord then without one. She knows that Juliet has extremely strong feelings toward her Lord and doesn’t want to be put with a man she doesn't have any sort of interest in. The Nurse wants to see the girl she’s raised and lived to be successful. Being successful back then was considered having children, growing the family name, and having good fortune; this was what she wanted to see Juliet do. Her wanting the best for Juliet made her seem selfish and careless because of how she worded it with Juliet. So, the outcome of this tragic scene, turned out to ruin her relationship with
