Jesus in John 5:28 teaches about two resurrections: 1. The resurrection of life (or the resurrection of the righteous saints who will rule with Christ) and; 2. The resurrection of damnation or of the wicked which will take place after the Millennial Reign of Christ on earth. Since it is the sins committed in the body that people have to be judged for, this will necessitate resurrection! THEREFORE, FINAL JUDGMENT OF EVERY PERSON HAS TO TAKE PLACE IN ORDER TO DETERMINE HIS DESTINY IN RELATION TO HIS STANDING WITH GOD!
However, believers and unbelievers will not be resurrected simultaneously. Overcoming Believers will be resurrected first, then sinners and non-overcoming believers will be resurrected later (after the Millennial Kingdom).

Then, Apostle Paul went on to elaborate that after this first phase comes the second phase of “…they that are Christ’s at His coming” - for the rapture.
THE SECOND PHASE OF THE FIRST RESURRECTION IS MADE UP OF NEW TESTAMENT OVERCOMERS WHO DIED SINCE CHRIST’S RESURRECTION UNTIL HIS COMING FOR THE RAPTURE. IT IS YET TO TAKE PLACE! After the rapture of the church follows the tribulation during which saints (who miss rapture) will be persecuted. Many of them will give up their faith due to the brutality of the persecution.
However, there will be those believers who will persevere until the end of the great tribulation. Their choice for Christ in those catastrophic circumstances will cost them their lives. They will be beheaded for refusing to take the mark of the Beast and to bow down to his images! In Revelations 20:4 the Apostle John was speaking about the souls of those saints who had been beheaded for not taking the mark of the beast and worshipping his image during the great
In his book, Ordinary Resurrections: Children in the Years of Hope, Jonathan Kozol pulls back the veil and provides readers with a glimpse of the harsh conditions and unrelenting hope that exists in a community located in the South Bronx called Mott Haven. Mr. Kozol provides his own socially conscious and very informative view of the issues facing the children and educators in this poverty ravaged neighborhood. Just his commentary would paint a very bleak picture of the future. It is the words of the children that give this book optimism and meaning. The courage and care exhibited by the volunteers of St. Ann's after school program and the creativity of the teachers at P.S. 30 are utterly inspiring. They work long hours and go beyond the call of duty to protect the innocence and cultivate the hope that resides in the hearts of Mott Haven's youngest residents.
In The Unfolding Drama of The Bible, Anderson says, “The new heaven and the new earth”(83). As Jesus died for man and woman he restored the perfect world. By Jesus doing so one can receive everlasting life in heaven. Being saved by grace through faith allows for anyone to be saved. One is not saved by his works man and woman are saved by their faith alone. To wrap up the Bible Jesus died for humans everlasting life in heaven by believing and trusting in him.
The New King James Bible explains, "And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all ... For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man ... If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body" (Acts 4:33 and 1 Corinthians 15:21 and 44). Paul explains that Jesus died for our sins and was resurrected. Since Jesus was physically buried, then Jesus ' resurrection would represent Him physically rising from the dead. Moreover, Paul explains that we will be resurrected like Jesus because God created humanity. Humanity cannot be physically resurrected because the human body is perishable. However, the spiritual body is imperishable and will live for eternity. Therefore, our physical bodies will be resurrected into an imperishable spirit. The significance of the passage is to demonstrate the historical event that Jesus ' disciples taught the physical resurrection of Jesus and also humanity will be
Of course not everyone agrees with this, there are some who say that Faith precedes Regeneration. David DePra wrote an article trying to argue this belief, while also claiming Regeneration preceding Faith is utter nonsense. One argument he uses is that it is illogical for someone to be saved, but still be an unbeliever. He says that being regenerated before having Faith means we are born again
In fact, understood this way, Christianity even places a distinction between the martyrdom of apostles and the martyrdom of Christians today. “Modern martyrs die for what they sincerely believe to be true, but their knowledge comes secondhand from others.”4 Even those who are killed for their Christianity in current times don 't demonstrate the truth of Christianity, rather the sincerity of their beliefs. The apostles ' martyrdom alone can be used as evidence in support of the resurrection of Jesus, and therefore, the truth of
After Christ makes a physical return to earth, everyone in Christ from the Old Testament and those who survive the seven years of tribulation will be risen to share a peaceful life with Him. According to Korver (2015), the unconditional covenants will come to fruition as Abraham receives his promises from God (Luke 1:55; Romans 4:13), Israel will receive their blessings from the New Covenant as everyone will be converted (Romans 11:25-27), and David will rule Jerusalem after his resurrection as written in the Davidic Covenant (Ezekiel 37:24-25). Moreover, under the Land Covenant, Israel will know what it is to enjoy their land (Amos 9:13-15). Every person in Christ, from Abraham to the church of Christ will rise and experience life as it is meant to
Christ's victory at the battle of Armageddon will prepare his was for this second coming, when the last judgment will take place
Unlike other views that believe the second coming will be in two phases, amillennialists feel it will occur in one stage; within the time between the first and second coming (459). They fuse the two resurrections spoken in Revelation 20:1-6 into one stage. In this one stage, a general resurrection will occur in which all believers and unbelievers will be gathered. They understand that Satan will be bound during the in-between time and at the second advent he will be released for a short time to cause havoc (458). Christ will return after the heavenly millennium reign and all believers and transformed believers will be taken up to the clouds to be with Him.
...must be granted immortality by God through resurrection. “All human beings had to pay for sin with death, unless, to complete the economic symbolism, they were redeemed-literally meaning "bought back"-by Christ (Abrahamic Transcendence pg. 173). Heaven is, fundamentally, the utmost culmination for which all Christians strive for; it is “fulfillment of the deepest human longings, the state of supreme, definitive happiness (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1024). In Heaven, the sanctified carry on blissfully conforming to God’s will in affinity to all life, they will rule with Christ for eternity. The general belief is that there will be an individual judgment after your death where God will grant you immortality in heaven or in hell and then a universal judgment where all of mankind on earth, in heaven, and in hell will have their final reckoning in front of God.
Due to persecution, Paul had to leave Thessalonica abruptly, leaving the young church with many unanswered questions, especially related to the final destiny of some recently-deceased brothers there. Paul then explains eschatological issues related to the final resurrection of the death, and Christ’s return in glory. In 2 Thessalonians Christ’s return is also emphasized, believers are reassured of Christ’s impending return, and Paul indicates that those dead before His return are no “second class” Christians. But 2nd Thessalonians is also addressed to those who think that Christ has already come or those who stopped working due to the immediacy of Christ’s
After a little further research, I uncovered that there is also a so-called “Secret Rapture theory.” According to these theories, the second coming of Jesus will be in two separate stages. The first is the secret rapture of the church at the beginning of a supposed seven year tribulation which is followed by an illustrious, triumphant return of Christ to the earth where he is accompanied by the church at the end of the seven year tribulation period. This is the belief that during the seven year tribulation period, the antichrist will come into power and also during this time, God will select and seal 144,000 literal Jews who will take the Gospel to the whole world converting immeasurable souls to Christ. The battle of Armageddon, which refers to the earth’s final battle and as a literal national war against Israel, occurs near the end of the seven years and is brought to a halt by Christ’s return to his church.
Stephen, in reading your thread, it can be determine that your salvation is not just a term that should be taken with considerable uncertainty, but through faith, it is an atonement that takes man from his iniquitous position, and gives him an opportunity to spend eternity with God because of the sacrifice that the Son of God made after being commission by his father to redeem a sinful world back unto him. In addition, it is idealistic to know that Jesus’ life, crucifixion, death, and resurrection were not just extraordinary biblical narratives, but were in fact, a divine chronological plan that would impact humanity if the process of repenting to him is implemented. Erickson implies, “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision
The Bible tells us that Jesus will return for all those who have accepted his salvation and are truly Christians. A large group of conservative Christians teach that Christ’s coming will actually take place in two stages. These stages are the rapture of the Church, which simply means that we will be taken away from the earth, and the revelation or Second Coming as prophesied by Jesus himself, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:3). These two events will be separated by the great tribulation, believed to be about seven years in duration. Because it (the rapture) is to precede the tribulation, no prophecy must yet be fulfilled before it can take place, therefore, it is imminent (Erickson,
Whatever my ideas were before studying Paul, he has always been the linch-pin to my faith, my firm belief that Jesus of Nazareth was raised from the dead, which confirms his authority as the true Messiah. Without Paul, one can doubt the existence of the resurrection and dismiss the other Apostles’ resurrection experiences as some sor...
Resurrection is one of the main focus of the Christian religion, it believes that Christ will
