Understanding the Two-Stage Theory of Jesus' Second Coming

After a little further research, I uncovered that there is also a so-called “Secret Rapture theory.” According to these theories that the second coming of Jesus will be in two separate stages. The first is the secret rapture of the church at the beginning of a supposed sever year tribulation which is followed by an illustrious, triumphant return of Christ to the earth where he is accompanied by the church at the end of the seven year tribulation period. This is the belief that during the seven year tribulation period, the antichrist will come into power and also during this time, God will select and seal 144,000 literal Jews who will take the Gospel to the whole world converting immeasurable souls to Christ. As previously mentioned, there was Harold Camping, which after his predictions failed, he was labeled a “false prophet” and was said that his ministry would collapse after the failed prediction. During the interview where he stated he no longer believed that anybody could know the time of the Rapture, he also stated that attempting to predict the rapture was sinful and that people were right in their comments of him being a false prophet. Afterwards, his radio station suffered huge losses in revenue, staff members and assets. Another public religious figure and Christian evangelist was preacher turned Christian superstar, Billy Graham. His views on the rapture were “There were many Christians who believe that the second coming of Jesus Christ will be in two phases. First he will come for the believers, both living and dead, in the “rapture”; read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17. In this view, the rapture- which is the transformation and catching up of all Christians dead or alive to meet Christ in the air- will be secret for it will be unknown to the world of unbelievers at the time of his happening. The effect of this removal, in the absence of multitudes of people, will, of course, be evident on earth. Then, second, after a period of seven years of tribulation on earth, Christ will return to the earth with His church, the saints who
