This report provides an analysis of how the content and assignments in this course helped me understand the roles of leadership and followership within business organization. The pass several weeks have been very valuable to me. I have learned many different leadership styles and how to handle real life situation such as crisis in the workplace. It also gives me the ability to increase my knowledge about planning and decorating and allow me to build my clientele; I will like to complete this goal within six months. The personal value I expect to gain from achieving this goal if for me to eventually be a full-time event planner. I will like to accomplish all the necessary work that it entails and the experience necessary within two years. I use this time frame so that I can be a certified event planner and have my Master’s degree all at the same time. I believe have both at the same time will be a greater advantage for me. I will be more confident knowing that I can fully demonstrate my leadership qualities. I will be more knowledgeable to communicate more effectively with my customers. I will also have the ability to deal with crisis if and when it arises.
My third goal is for me to continue praising God for His goodness and to tell other about His love. There are so many people out there hurting and just by hearing my story it will give them hope to hold on. I am currently working on a cd project with songs that encourage. I will like to complete my cd project in April spring of 2016. I have given myself seven months to complete this project. The cd will be a great tool in getting my message across. Leadership at times can be a complex topic to delve into and may appear to be a simple and graspable concept for a certain few. Leadership skills are not simply acquired through position, seniority, pay scale, or the amount of titles an individual holds but is a characteristic acquired or is an innate trait for the fortunate few who possess it. The leadership is a privilege and it is such a privilege and an honor which will carry the tremendous responsibility which will inspire others to direct them to accomplish goals and vision of the organization. Leadership is about influencing the people, by producing direction, purpose and motivating in order to accomplish the mission, vision and improving the organization. The leadership philosophy is evolved based on the experiences, both positive and negative, in most of the initiatives and activities that we undertake. It is also one among the collaboration and teamwork within which the team members can utilize each other’s strengths to counter the weaknesses of the individuals. By observing, introspecting and experimenting we can developed a leadership paradigm which is inclusive, collaborative and proactive. We can develop the ability to recognize which will approach in order to reach the productive conclusion. The great leaders know their limitations and are capable at utilize their strengths and also the strengths of others to compensate.
Leaders are considered as an important part to any successful organization because the leader is not just being a successful leader but also to bring achievement to the organization and its employees. “Leadership is the ability to influence a group toward the achievement of goals.” (Robins, page 221). Leaders insist employees on entering training courses to improve the productivity, and to expand their knowledge.
The learning obtained from the Leadership and Organizational Behavior course has been valuable. From this course, I have learned that while someone can be a manager or a leader, it is better to be both. The various topics discussed throughout the eight week course have provided the unique insight necessary to be an effective leader. The insight gained allow for the identification of the behaviors that an effective leader must possess and continually develop. By identifying these behaviors, I am better able to shape my leadership style and goals so that I can achieve my full career potential as a leader within my organization. Ultimately, I realize that it is important to both do things right and do the right things in all my actions within an organization.

Without followers, a leader would be worthless. Followers make up the backbone of a leader because they are the masses that get goals accomplished. A leader is just one person, but the number of followers is countless. In order to be an effective follower, there are a countless number of characteristics that allow a follower to be the best they can be. Five of these characteristics include a positive attitude, communication skills, being part of the process, being open to new ideas, and patience.

However, I believe that it is better said to be a way of influencing others actions. Leadership is usually connected to a great leader that affected his or her followers in a dynamic way. Throughout the semester for my leadership class, I have expanded the knowledge in numerous ways. I now have fully understanding of the purpose and process of leadership to a society. They are able to inspire, stimulate, persuade, shape, and have an effect on others.
Leadership is found not just at work but all around us. In any situation, leaders take a step forward and take charge of the situation. It can be at home, at work or at any other place. Leaders are never born, they become leaders because they have the credibility and people would love to follow them.
Overall what I learned in this class will help me in my career as a leader and will eventually help further my career. I learn that a leader is one who has a direct relationship with the people they are leading. The leader is one who also gives direction to the staff. They must have motivational and technological skills which is also a good trait to have. Transformational leadership style is the leadership style base on the quiz. Leadership has many facets to its name. Some of the most important leadership skills are communication and relationship building. One trait that is not characteristic of a good leader is dominance. When a leader tries to dictate, they will lose respect from others. A commanding style of leadership in not recommended, but rather have one who can win hearts and minds. In the present, many organizations are putting their employees through different leadership development programs. "Companies with effective processes for assessing individual leadership development needs were significantly more likely to have recorded an increase in sales and net income between 2003 and 2004" (Switzerland 2006). Leadership has become such a critical aspect to organizations that universities are starting to open leadership schools. People are now offered leadership as a major at some colleges and universities.
