Our group has worked together pretty well during the entirety of the semester. We are fortunate to have the ability to work well together and compromise, without arguing. The red group is always open for new ideas and ways that we can improve. Emily has definitely been our leader through the whole project, however we all took on different leadership styles. Emily has been a democratic leader from day one, she takes charge but she let’s us do our own thing. She’s done a great job at keeping us on task and focused. I am more like Emily in this way; I am a more democratic leader. If things need to be done, I take initiative and get it done. I usually do more of the group texting, so that I can inform the other members on what’s going on. I think that I am an effective leader, because I do things that better our group and I gets accomplished. Shannon is more of a cross between a democratic and laissez-faire leader. She pretty much goes along with anything, but she takes charge when she needs to. On the other hand, Chad is more on the laissez-faire side, when it comes to leadership. He pretty …show more content…
If one of us comes to her with something, she is always encouraging and helpful with her praise. She is also great at gatekeeping, she is always trying to get us all together. She always includes every group member in all of our discussions. She is a large asset to our group. I’m also an encourager, I make an effort to always compliment the work of my group members. In addition to an encourager, I take on the role of being our harmonizer. I try to diffuse any conflict as quickly as possible. If the disagreement is not diminishing, I try to crack a joke to relieve the tension. Shannon is another gate-keeper, she strengthens our group with communication. Chad, Bryson, and Ray serve the role as our compromisers, they are willing to compromise to keep peace within our group. Everyone contributes the group's
The purpose for a story, particularly one that deals with graphic material such as murder, is not always crystal clear, an excellent example of a story where the purpose is shrouded in mystery is Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Cask of Amontillado”. At the end of “The Cask of Amontillado” it is revealed that the character Montresor is narrating this tale. This leads the reader to wonder what motivation could Montresor have for retelling this story fifty years later. The story places heavy emphasis on being a connoisseur or expert at something, in fact Montresor’s whole plan is focused around this one thing. When the tale is viewed with the perspective that Montresor is an unreliable narrator, then it can be seen

Punctuality was a quality that also stood out. She was always on schedule and ensured session times did not fall behind. She was continuously checking the time, the schedule, room availability and client arrival. Time management was defiantly a strength of hers. Though if things were running a few minutes behind she was honest to both the client and the team.
I don’t take all the credit for our group being great, but I do however like to think that I got the ball rolling and then kept it going. No leader is anyone without their peers to help them lead.
...and show an open mind to everyone’s ideas. I’ve found that this makes for a lighter and more fun environment and we’ve shown success in completing our task. Most times I’m put into groups, I don’t know the other people very well. This is common at school with my classmates. I’m used to having no leader in the group and everyone fighting to have their ideas chosen. Once a leader was chosen in the group we started discussing openly everyone’s ideas with the chosen leader voicing their opinion on which idea to choose and why. Usually when it comes to my friends I take the leadership role and make an try to hear everyone’s opinion before making a decision. I believe that for a team to find success and reach their goal someone needs to take leadership and voice an unbiased opinion. The team needs to hear everyone’s ideas and choose one based on which will lead to success.
She values honesty in communication and she possesses the ability to be brutally honest with someone. She will come up to me and tell me her opinion if she believes that it might benefit me in some way. Another one of her values is appearance or beauty. She will spend hours picking the perfect outfit and doing her hair and makeup to perfection. She wakes up almost two hours earlier every day before school so that she will have enough time to get ready. Some people might think that she is conceited because of the focus on her looks, but she values the time that people put into their appearance as a reflection of their dedication. Her dedication to her appearance is something that she greatly values making her deserving of praise. How many other people could do what she does? Her passion and dedication is unrivaled by any other when it comes to her looks. She believes in the fact that one should always look one’s best and she puts in the effort every day regardless of any extemporaneous situations that might
She can read very well and speaks in a clear tone. This allows the leaders to see that she is independent in her ability maneuver socially. She can demonstrate what she understood about the story and arrive at her own conclusion.
In a team-oriented setting, everyone contributes to how well the group succeeds overall. You work with fellow members of the group to complete the work that needs to be done. Having the right people in the correct roles is an important factor in measuring the success of a team, where you are united with the other members to complete the main goals. Every group is made up of definite strengths and weaknesses. Our team's 3-5 major strengths necessary to work accordingly consist of Informer, Summarizer, Orienter, Piggy-Backer, and Encourager. One of our strengths as a team is that we get input from everyone involved. Every member of our team is a leader in some way. Part of being a good leader is knowing how important it is to receive the best ideas from each member of their team. We attend group meetings where we discuss any challenges, issues, and problems. At these meetings, we often exchange ideas or brainstorm new ones with each other and come up with the best and most creative team solutions as potential answers to those perceived problems.
Eglantyne Jebb was the leader I identified with because she did not seem to recognize herself as a leader at first, enjoyed simple living, was selfless, and had many influences in her life from family to friends, and her faith. She also resonated with me due to her connection with children and compassion for others who were experiencing hardships. Like Eglantyne, I do not force my spiritual beliefs on others. I also enjoy working with people of different backgrounds, and it seems as though Eglantyne was able to get along with varying groups because she had a clear mission that people were able to connect with regardless where they came from.
Walmart’s throughout the United States continue to succeed. Two things that they continue to succeed at is telling the Walmart story in commercials, where we see they continue to lie and “staying the course.” Throughout the documentary they look into struggling families and how Walmart is a big factor in that. The Hunter family ran a hardware store by the name of H&H Hardware and after serving there town for 48 years had to close down due to the arrival of Walmart. Numerous other Mom and Pop businesses will continue to close down due to Walmart and the ability they have to drop sales and also knock the value down on numerous items. Due to most Walmart employees conscious, employees often have to stay late with no overtime pay due to the amount
This is only my third class in the Wilkes Instructional Media Program but I can say with certainty that it was the hardest. The class is about Project Based Learning so it only makes sense that part of it would be doing a project. But doing so on the computer with people you have not met and probably never will meet makes it hard. Add to that the fact you’re all teaching in different grade levels and you’re starting with two strikes against you before you even start. At least, that’s how I felt.
Working together with other people for an assignment can be a challenging task in some cases but luckily, I worked well with my group members. The decisions we made were anonymous although we paced ourselves individually when it came to completing our separate parts of the essay. As a group I believe that we connected well on an interpersonal level as all four of us were able to make alterations to any problem together . Furthermore, we did not give each other a chance to get angry at one another as we knew that this would only cause conflict that would disrupt our flow as a group. There was an equal divide in the amount of work that we all did; our contributions were fair and no one was lacking behind. In addition, my group members were great at keeping each other informed if one of us were not able to attend a group meeting; emails were sent out informing us what we missed and ideas that were formulated. Everyone in my group worked according to deadlines and in synchronization with each other; we did not have to nag anyone to complete work or wait on a member to complete their task.
This turned out to be the positive group experience for me and other group members. The team was sufficiently strong from the very beginning through the development phase to the end without any incident of conflict and disagreement. Every group member is reliable and understands their roles working in a group. They also understand the significance of progressing collectively towards the shared and common goal. In other words, our group reflected the synergy by the association we held with each other as a team and, thus, reflecting an example of being a successful
