The day started off like any other ordinary day the sun was beaming of heat and it was scorching outside. That day I was excited, but really disappointed because I wasn’t in Katelyn’s and Lauren’s group and they’re my best friend. “Luckily it was time for recess” I mumbled quietly under my breath not to interrupt other classes. Katelyn’s group went out to recess 1st, then all the boys, and my group of course was last. Most of the boys played soccer and some girls played soccer too. There were two playground a big play ground where most kids played and a small one. During recess me and my friends played gravel on the small playground, but then I went to the bathroom and overheard someone talking. “I knew I had recognized those voices.” It was Martha and Courtney! I wonder what …show more content…
At first I couldn’t hear it, but I took a big risk and moved a little closer. After a while I realized they were talking about how they hated Lauren and how they went talking to other students and teachers about her. Laurens like my bestfriend and I know that all those rumors aren’t true. Then they came out all casual like they didn’t do anything and I hid. “Surprised they didn’t see me like they always realized the bad things.” I walked back to recess because I wanted to be a good role model to the little kids unlike Courtney and Martha. Finally I was back outside in the fresh air where I could be free. “ Five minutes!” the recess aids screamed. I started running around trying to find Katelyn and Lauren. It took me like a full five minutes which was all of recess. “ Finally,” I said in relief, “ I found you guys.” “Okay let's not waste our recess we have like 30 seconds,” Katelyn suggested. “Okay!” I replied out of breathe. Then when we started running the bell rang, but then Martha tripped Lauren.
Now I wished that I could pen a letter to my school to be read at the opening assembly that would tell them how wrong we had all been. You should see Zachary Taylor, I’d say.” Lily is realizing now that beauty comes in all colors. She is also again being exposed to the fact that her way of being raised was wrong, that years and years of history was false. “The whole time we worked, I marveled at how mixed up people got when it came to love.

“I always knew I wanted to be a teacher,” she stated. Her passion for helping children with special needs was developed at a later age. The reason why Chris decided to be a special education teacher was because of two twin boys in her grade who had special needs. Chris was only in kindergarten at the time, but she recalls that one of these boys did not get to go to school. The other boy, Jimmy, could come to school, but he would have to leave halfway through the school day. Chris was confused and upset about how Jimmy could not be at school and asked her mom about this. The reason why Jimmy and his brother were not at school was because there was no special education program. This moment, even though she was in kindergarten, shaped Chris’s plan for her
Are teachers enforcing discipline mechanisms in a healthy way for children? Researchers would answer no to this question because of one major factor: removing recess from a child’s school day. In Jessica Lahey’s article, “Students Who Lose Recess Are the Ones Who Need It Most”, she states that “schools continue to take away recess privileges as a penalty for academic or behavioral transgressions”. Many teachers follow this procedure because they assume that they are teaching the child how to act with appropriate behaviors. However, it is a proven fact that eliminating a student’s recess results in a negative outcome. Therefore, recess should not be removed from a child’s school day because this recreation plays a role in their physical health,
In the “The Crucial Role of Recess in School” (2012) article it explains, many schools are beginning to replace physical activity, like recess, with more attention to academic subjects. What these schools are forgetting is that well-supervised recess also has benefits that surpass academics. They help make a well rounded student because recess offers cognitive, social, emotional, and physical benefits to the student when they are young that they carry with them into adulthood.

Schools all over the country are considering, if not already applying, the removal of recess for elementary school students. Having recess has scientifically proven to play a substantial part in the social development of a child, their physical health, and the amount of attention they pay in the classroom. For example the Tennessee Board of Education says, "It is the position of the NASPE that all elementary school children should be provided with at least one daily period of recess of at least 20 minutes on length" (National Association for Sports and Physical Education). Keeping recess in schools could help lower the childhood obesity rate, help children to be more attentive in class, and assist in the development of their much needed social skills. These aspects are essential to academic healthiness and to your child succeeding academically. Removing recess could cause a dramatic decline in the graduation rate in the U.S.
According to American Academy of Pediatrics, they believe that a child needs a scheduled recess at school daily because of its effects on children. Recently, schools have cutting down on recess time because of poor grades and standards are rising. What they don't know is that a child needs a break from work like everyone else does. Schools should include recess in Middle school and High school because it helps lower obesity, lower stress, and develop social skills .
After this, the class decided to at first participate in what get to know you activity the class was doing but eventually, the class lost intrest. Michelle tried to get the class back on track but she did not prevail. Not until a student came up to her. "Ms. Rosenburg, your going at this all wrong, your trying to be nice, but what this class, mostly full of delinquents who don't care about a lot like Mark need is a teacher who is strict" the student said to her "Thank you, Amy" replied Michelle as the bell rang and class was dismissed.
I whipped my head around to look at the laughing class, except for the quiet girl in the back, who looked at me, blushing. “Sorry Mrs. Kirkland,” I straightened myself out in my desk and waited for the end of the school day. Five minutes
We listened as Mrs. DeCostia enumerated the names of those involved. “Kat, Tara, Kelly, Alexis, Rob, Joe, Matt, and John.” She announced with annoyance. How is it that all my friends got in trouble for the greatest prank in Fairfield’s 75 year history, but my name was left off that prestigious list? I watched my friend’s proud faces as they walked to the front of the room and I laughed as I heard Matt say “So you caught the people, who perfectly reconstructed your room on the roof of the school, but you will never know who the genius behind it was, and as long as that stays a secret, we’ve done our job.” Then Mrs. DeCostia grabbed him by the shirt collar and dragged him outside. Soon there was a wave of people standing and clapping for their hero, the only person to show Mrs. DeCostia what a horrible person she really was. Apparently since my name had been left off the list, they had no intention of revealing it. But still I got the greatest prize of all, even better than being called up there with them: knowing that it was my idea to take every item out of her room and put it on the roof. There was a loud slamming of the door and soon the classroom fell silent. “Whose idea was it?” shouted Mrs. DeCostia. She was answered by silence. “I’ll ask one more time: Whose idea was it?” She said, speaking ever so slowly to ensure he understood. This time she was answered by a deep voice that could only be recognized as John’s. “You’re never gonna know so you might as well give up now.” “Oh, I will find out and when I do that person will be expelled! Now who is it?” Then in a voice that always seemed to say “What are you looking at?” Kat said “Listen lady, I don’t know who you think your dealing with but you’re never gonna know. We’re like...
It was finally the first day of school; I was excited yet nervous. I hoped I would be able to make new friends. The first time I saw the schools name I thought it was the strangest name I’ve ever heard or read, therefore I found it hard to pronounce it in the beginning. The schools’ floors had painted black paw prints, which stood out on the white tiled floor. Once you walk through the doors the office is to the right. The office seemed a bit cramped, since it had so many rooms in such a small area. In the office I meet with a really nice, sweet secretary who helped me register into the school, giving me a small tour of the school, also helping me find
