"I can't believe this, the teacher had to have her child now, first day of school" thought Michelle Rosenburg, a 33 year old substitute teacher, who now is on her way to Layolane Academy. Once she arrived, and completing all the paperwork she was sent to her classroom, and instructions on what to do, and what to say when the students ask where the teacher is. Michelle was freaking out, her first day as a substitute, and she had to deal with the first day of school, her anxiety was getting to her, but she breathed and calmed down.
Soon the bell rang, and all the students flocked to thier classrooms and once everyone was in the classroom, attendance was taken and then a student sitting in the front of the class raised his hand and asked a question.

Donaldson" the student asked.
"Well Mark, I was about to get to that, you see, your teacher Mrs. Donaldson, had her child just a week ago, so for a while she will not be here, but for today she wants us all to get to know each other" Michelle announced to the class.
After this, the class decided to at first participate in what get to know you activity the class was doing but eventually, the class lost intrest. Michelle tried to get the class back on track but she did not prevail. Not until a student came up to her.
"Ms. Rosenburg, your going at this all wrong, your trying to be nice, but what this class, mostly full of delinquents who don't care about a lot like Mark need is a teacher who is strict" the student said to her
"Thank you, Amy" replied Michelle as the bell rang and class was dismissed. Now the same thing happened over and over again, she wasn't being respected, so the next day, she was assigned to go back, and she was going to be more strict.
Once class began the next day Michelle, after doing attendance became more strict, yelled more, punished harder and actually intimidated most of the students, except for
History has shown any room filled with self righteous pompous windbag men would have pronounced "We cannot have our teachers showing this lack of judgment to our young, impressionable children." The board most likely using the Principle and Superintendents recommendations would have fired her or at the very least sent her packing to another school with a reprimand for her unsavory
David McCullough Jr., delivered the commencement at Wellesley High School in Massachusetts on June 1st 2012 to staff, the 2012 graduates, and their family and friends. The speech was straightforward and supplied valuable information for their future. . McCullough’s speech at times felt harsh, offensive, and insulting. His words and examples were given to achieve insight, knowledge, and awareness for each student’s future. The commencement expressed a great deal of achievement, but conveyed that there was more work to be done. His speech was effective and appreciated through humor parallelism, repetition, and anaphora. His point of view has obtained respect and determination by all those that have been challenged and have heard his words.
Throughout history when the word military is said , a strong man is what comes to mind. Former first lady Michelle Obama is known for strongly believing in women being powerful and educated. She took a trip to North Africa in summer of 2016 to address gender- based issues.(Michelle Obama Biography) That does not come as a surprise since she gave her November 18 ,2009 speech Speech Honoring Women in the Military at women’s history month. She performed her speech to her audience of veterans and to the viewers at home hence her speech is online for anyone whom wishes to watch. Anyone who was able to see this speech can tell how empowering and grateful Michelle Obama is for the women in the military. In her speech Michelle Obama uses anecdotes about the veterans and repetitive phrases to show the fact that there are many powerful and strong women in the military that should be honored for their astonishing accomplishments.

Successfully, Nora Ephron 's commencement speech addressed to the Wellesley Class of 1996; inspired her audience to "be the heroine of [their '] li[ves], not the victim". Through anecdotes, Ephron explored the differences between her education and the graduates at Wellesley College, to remind the women graduating that whilst society was different in many ways, in particular for women, "there was still a glass ceiling".

The presidential election in year 2016 has been described as both outrageous and strange. Media from all over the world has covered every debate and the reactions at the outcome have been apparent in almost every country. The choice between businessman Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate, has caused several politicians and notable people to publically endorse their personal favorite - both on social media or at formal political gatherings. An example of the latter is Michelle Obama’s speech “Remarks by the First Lady” at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.
Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans in 2005. Everyone at Tulane University had an uncertainty if they would be able to regain back their future. It was an obstacle for the students to overcome, but they later on prevailed and attended their graduation. Being a comedian you wouldn’t expect someone to give such a wonderful commencement speech. The guest speaker for the Katrina class of 2009 at Tulane University was Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen gives a speech that not only acknowledges the class’s achievements but inspires them to be greater. I will analyze how Ellen uses Ethos and Pathos by allusion, imagery, repetition, and tone. It is an emotional and inspiring speech that I believe can convince almost anyone.
Graduating from school is only one of the essential tools for a young person to have a successful life. A person endures many long years of schooling, and then the graduation day finally arrives. That special day is one of the most momentous days in a young student’s life. Happiness and sadness are the two emotions a person will feel on that special day. A student will experience happiness because of a significant milestone that was completed in the student’s life. The sad emotions will arise because of a terrifying new chapter in the book of life that is about to begin. This particular class period consisted of around 3 students, but one student was working particularly just by himself with his teachers aid. Even before it started Ms.Metcalf classroom energy felt a bit off, and come to find out that during lunch one of the students had been teasing the other student. The student that had also been causing trouble had out of nowhere stolen paper clips off of Ms.Metcalf. The other student was not able to stay on task, because he still felt upset from the incident that occurred during lunch. This soon became more of a discipline class rather than the student learning about math, and apparently the "bully" had created pointer with the paper clips that could have actually hurt someone. Soon after Ms. Metcalf had to call the assistant principles to step in to discipline the student, and lost a entire day of instructions due to one student misbehavior. After the misbehaving student had left she went over to the emotional distraught student and began discussing that he should never let people 's words if they weren 't nice and that entire lesson became a lesson on
Are we there yet? I have asked this question many times on road trips, only to hear the answer, "It's only one more mile, I promise." Of course, our destination was never just one more mile. It seemed as though we would never reach our destination. The one idea I neglected by asking the question, "Are we there yet?" is the notion that it's not the destination that is important, but the journey itself.

Class started by the Mrs. Polzin greeting the students with, what Jimmy thought to be, a fake smile and good morning. She sat down at her desk and asked the pupils to take out their show and tell items. Other students had brought their pictures; others had brought caps and sweatshirts from different countries. Jimmy thought, like the others, his show and tell item was the best.
Bonnie the secretary introduced me to my new teacher. As Mrs. Bonnie was leaving the room, my new teacher Mrs. Evaheart introduced me to the class. As I stared at the class I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed. I wanted to go back to my old school where I had friends, knew almost everyone, a place where I didn’t feel lonesome, a place anywhere but here. Valedictorian Speech Good evening fellow graduates, teachers, family members, friends, and distinguished guests. It is a tremendous honor to be the valedictorian of our graduating class. My job is to somehow be the voice of the entire graduating class, and take five minutes to say a few words on behalf of all 539 of us. Like most valedictorians, writing this speech was not an easy task for me. Not because I did not have anything to say, but because I was overwhelmed by how much I wanted to share with you all on this day. Tonight, we have one common purpose, to celebrate. We are here to congratulate, to look towards what the future holds for us, to wish each other well, and to, most importantly look back on our time spent here. So, I would like to start by saying 'well done' to my fellow graduates, who have all worked hard during the past several years to reach this milestone.
