Radiography Personal Statement Science has dependably been an in number enthusiasm of mine and I generally knew I needed to seek after a profession in the therapeutic field. Nonetheless, I was undecided in the matter of what therapeutic profession until I went to an Aim Higher Science at Work meeting at the University of Portsmouth. I was given an understanding into a few professions and exhibits that spoke to them. Analytic Radiography truly enlivened me that day and it was by then that I knew this was what I needed to do. From that point forward, I have had the chance to pick up an unmistakable understanding into Radiography through conversing with my uncle, who is a qualified Diagnostic Radiographer, and I will be doing work involvement
with him subsequent to leaving school.
My interest in MRI started when I first read the book “MRI, The Basics” written by the author Ray Hashemi. By the time I successfully finished my MRI clinical placement in Tehran University of Medical Sciences, I knew for sure that MRI would be the field I would be choosing to take on. What attracts me most about MRI is how beautifully scientist could create a technology that can take advantage of the magnetic moments of human body for imaging it without any harms of ionizing radiation. Although there are drawbacks to MRI, combining it with other modalities would be a more effective approach to an accurate diagnosis.
After graduating with my Bachelor’s degree, I continued to work as a staff MRI technologist. Even though I loved what I did and had a passion helping people, the lack of diversity within radiology and its limited room for growth bothered me. I decided to look into furthering my career and found an interest in Health Information Technology. Upon researching many different schools through the country offering an online graduate Health Information Technology program, the University of Michigan in Dearborn stood out to me. Medicine and technology have both always been a part of my life, and I am very happy and excited that the chance for it to play a new part has finally arrived. I’m motivated to learn how I can combine the science of information with clinical knowledge so I can help to better patient care and

Attending Florida Southwestern State College to become an x-ray tech is a huge accomplish for me. Because I have a learning disability unfortunately I have to take remedial courses like intermediate algebra, Brush up English, and a reading course the first semester. The good thing about studying Radiology is you can switch to any type of jobs in this field. For an example, you can switch to working with MRI’s or Cat Scans if you want to try another department in the Radiology field. This specific field is for you to work with x-rays. It’s important to know the bone structure .You can work with ultrasounds to, Cat Scans, to MRI’s (Magnetic resonance imaging).
The role of the radiologist is one that has undergone numerous changes over the years and continues to evolve a rapid pace. Radiologists specialize in the diagnoses of disease through obtaining and interpreting medical images. There are a number of different devices and procedures at the disposal of a radiologist to aid him or her in these diagnoses’. Some images are obtained by using x-ray or other radioactive substances, others through the use of sound waves and the body’s natural magnetism. Another sector of radiology focuses on the treatment of certain diseases using radiation (RSNA). Due to vast clinical work and correlated studies, the radiologist may additionally sub-specialize in various areas. Some of these sub-specialties include breast imaging, cardiovascular, Computed Tomography (CT), diagnostic radiology, emergency, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), musculoskeletal, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, pediatric radiology, radiobiology, and Ultrasound (Schenter). After spending a vast amount of time on research and going to internship at the hospital, I have come to realize that my passion in science has greatly intensified. Furthermore, both experiences helped to shape up my future goals more prominently than before, which is coupled with the fact that I have now established a profound interest in radiology, or rather nuclear medicine.
The earliest human dissections date back to ancient Egypt and Greece where records of Anatomy were hand drawn and physiology was largely theorized. I find it fascinating that modern imaging technology allows us to view the body’s organs to see their functions and diagnose possible conditions or diseases. I first developed an interest in the field of Medical Sonography during my pregnancy with my first child. When I laid eyes upon the images of the growing little person inside of me, I knew I wanted to share in the joys of others as they experienced this as well (realizing this may not always be the case for others). Now returning to college, I have set my academic goals on the path towards this career. It wasn’t until I completed the Anatomy
Choosing this field is something that has a profound connection with my personal life. Becoming a Diagnostic Medical sonographer would mean that I have accomplished life long dream. Ever since I was a little, I always wanted to be in the medical field. I have always had a big heart and wanted to help people so when I saw the important role that sonographers play in the medical field, it became clear to me that being a sonographer was exactly what I want to do with my life. In 2007 someone who was very important to me passed away due to gastric cancer. When my grandmother, who was a mother, father, and a friend to me, was diagnosed with gastric cancer my world collapsed. It was devastating news, not only for me but also for the whole family.
Modern medicine is capable of treating a tremendous range of human disease and injuries, but the usefulness of all medical specialties depends on accurate diagnosis. Virtually every conceivable medical specialty relies on radiological technologies to provide formal diagnoses, making radiology one of the most important of all medical specialties. Radiologists enjoy some of the best working conditions in modern medicine and typically experience very positive employment conditions. Consequently, their services are generally in very high demand, with many starting out with six-figure annual incomes immediately after completion of their professional training.
I haven’t always wanted to be a cardiac sonographer. The desire to be in this career just started to spark an interest in me a couple years back. You see, since I was a little girl I had always dreamt of becoming an architect or an interior designer. At first, the design aspect of that occupation interested me greatly. My dream started to fall short when I realized that a job like this would require me to make a move to a bigger city and that is something that I do not wish to pursue. This meant it was time to find another path to go down and reconfigure my future.
The central dilemma in radiology was that numerous people were departing from the radiology community and insufficient people were entering the specialty. The article mentioned that “the number of radiology residents declined steadily in the 1990’s, dropping from 4,236 in 1994 to 3,600 in 1999” (McLeod and Montane, 2010). Professionals created a solution by introducing radiologist assistant (RA) as a career. A radiologist assistant was an advanced- level radiographer who extended the capacity of the radiologist in the diagnostic imaging environment therefore enhancing patient care. There was some caution expressed by Baker and Merkulov regarding the innovative occupation
In order to become a Radiologic Technologist, one would have to carefully plan and learn the importance of the career choice. A person going into the medical imaging career needs to plan to know specific details about the career, what college or technology school he or she will be attending, the college expenses, knowing the yearly income of a Radiologic Technologist, also finding out the days of the week and hours that are to be worked, the expected change in employment over the next years, and how to build a future off being a Radiologic Technologist. Becoming a Radiologic Technologist is a lengthy process and it is hard work, but when all completed it is all worthwhile.
For my math project, I decided to interview a few coworkers since I plan on going to school to become a radiography technologist. I currently work in the medical field of radiology as a radiology tech assistant. I thought this would be a great way to see how I will be using math in my future career. There are several different modalities in the radiology department from x-ray, mammography, CAT scan and MRI. Since I’m not sure what modality I would like to work in once out of school, I decided to ask a coworker from each modality to see how they use math.
College was always a priority for my parents and I. Neither of my two siblings were passionate about a career that involved a four-year college experience. It was up to me to make my father proud, and I was up for that challenge. For four years, I continued to alter my career choice, it ranged from becoming a physician, to becoming a judge, and even to becoming a crime scene investigator. Finally, that last year of high school, I made up my mind and made it clear that Radiography was the path I felt most appealed to me. Deciding what college fit my needs was a lot simpler, given that Ferris State University was the only college that had a Radiography program and was the closest to home. However, many would say fifty-seven miles is quite far.
I started to explore the different fields of medicine by working as a Medical Scribe in the Emergency Department, ER tech in Trauma Centers, getting involved in research, volunteering at hospitals and taking high level science classes. This will enhance my knowledge and experience i...
Throughout my life, I have worked towards one goal which is to become a doctor. Medicine offers the opportunity for me to integrate different scopes of science while trying to improve human life. Medicine has intrigued me throughout all my life because it??s a never ending mystery and every answer has questions, and vice versa. Upon entering my career, I had assumed that professional and financial success would surely bring personal fulfillment. This realization triggered a process of self-searching that led me to medicine. The commitment to provide others with healthcare is a serious decision for anyone. As I examined my interests and goals, however, I underwent a process of personal growth that has propelled me towards a career as a physician. A career in medicine will allow me to integrate thoroughly my passion for science into a public-service framework. Since childhood, I have loved acquiring scientific knowledge, particularly involving biological processes. During my undergraduate studies, I displayed my ability to juggle competing demands while still maintaining my academic focus; I have succeeded at school while volunteering part time, spending time with family and friends, and working part-time. To better serve my expected patient population, I worked over my English and Korean language skills. I have come to discover that a job and even a good income, without another significant purpose, will not bring satisfaction. I planed to utilize my assets, namely my problem- solving affinity, strong work ethic, and interpersonal commitment, to craft a stimulating, personally rewarding career in medicine. I have taken stock of myself, considering my skills, experiences, and goals. I have looked to family and friends, some of whom are doctors, for advice. Because of this self-examination, I have decided to pursue a career in health care. The process has been difficult at times but always illuminating. Throughout it all, I have never lost confidence - the confidence that I will actively absorb all available medical knowledge, forge friendships with fellow students, and emerge from my training as a skilful and caring physician.
